Closed Firefox to update Adobe Flash. When restarted, all bookmarks were gone, and could not be restored from backup, imported (from .json file, .html file nor Google Chrome) or even manually added. The skin was also deactivated, but, at least, it could be reactivated manually. As for the bookmarks, all bookmark-related functionality has ceased to function, and all data seems either lost or unreadable. Browser history was unaffected, but tab groups were mashed up into one. Tried restarting Firefox, restarting PC, reinstalling Firefox, replacing all Firefox files with backup, etc. Nothing is working. Nine years of bookmarks are at stake and I really don't want to migrate to Google Chrome. Is there a way to fix this?

When I upgraded to Win10, the colours on my laptop changed. I managed to regain control using the built-in tweaks in the Intel chip, but there's a difference between the colours seen in Windows and those viewed on Firefox. I looked in about:config and toggled gfx.color_management.display_enablev4 without any change. Where else can I look?
BTW, I can't add images, the uploader just keeps spinning.

I have a very strange and persistent kernel oops when I try to start FF 39.0, This is for a clean install with a new clean profile.
Please understand this problem has suddenly started to happen after months of working without any problem except for an occasional crash while watching programs from www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer. Following a particularly nasty occurrence I was forced to Ctrl Alt F3 login as root and reboot. (ie my X session was locked out) Now whenever I try to start FF 39.0 I get the kernel oops!
The command line result is below and a snippet from /var/log/messages is attached.
The exceeding odd behaviour is that I can run the old Fedora 17 package managed version 22.0 of FF without any problems. I also have a Google Chrome version which runs perfectly.
I have re-installed Firefox, and the flash plugin (11.2.202.468), and even the kernel!
I do not understand much of the following dumps, what can I do to illuminate the problem?
TIA Charles Bradshaw

Recently I am forced to run an old version 22.0 of Firefox on my Fedora 17 Linux computer. I now see "The connection was reset" whenever I access https://signin.ebay.co.uk
Although I do NOT see any problem doing the same with a more recent version 38.1.0 running under CentOS on a different machine.
I am forced to use the old version because a manual install of the latest version 39.0 crashes, see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/search/advanced?a=1&asked_by=bradcan&w=2
I suspect that the problem is perhaps certificate related, although I see NO security alert.
Is there a way to force an update of all root certificates either manually or under the old version?
Is there perhaps another explanation?
TIA Charles Bradshaw

Hi,
This morning when I opened Firefox, 3 or 4 plugins were updated. One of the plugin updated pages (connected with the Download Statusbar plugin) suddenly switched to a "survey" page that actually turned out to be an advertisement. On realising this, I closed all the open tabs
Now, whenever my plugins get updated, I usually note down the latest version no. So I went to the Add-ons Manager page, where I was surprised to find that the version no. of all my installed plugins had a suffix of .1-signed. For ex, the BitDefender QuickScan plugin that was earlier 0.9.9.142, is now showing as 0.9.9.142.1-signed (please see the attached screenshot)
The ".1-signed" has been added to nearly all of my active add-ons (extensions); however it has not been added to any of the disabled plugins or to any plugin that is incompatible with my current version of Firefox.
Is this sudden addition of ".1-signed" to nearly all my extensions valid and legitimate, or could it be the result of some virus or malware?
Sincerely, Sunil Suresh

This problem began about two years ago on many products on www.nws.noaa.gov/...; I assumed it was a website problem, but I contacted the weather bureau today and they said it works fine on Internet Explorer (and it does), but I prefer using Firefox and it must be a Firefox problem. What's wrong and how do I fix it? (I've updated my Firefox several times since the problem began.)
