In Firefox, the mouse becomes partially unresponsive to elements in the browser and on web pages. This happens after 15-30 minutes after starting up the browser. Common symptoms include:

- Unable to drag and drop elements properly, including text after highlighting it. - Sometimes, the mouse continues to hold elements while dragging. Pressing ESC temporarily fixes this. - Dropdown menus on websites do not drop down when hoovering over them - Other items on websites don't display items when hoovering over them

I have tried:

- Different mouses, including my laptop's trackpad - A Firefox fork, namely Waterfox, but it still occurs - Limited testing with other browsers. No problem occurs - Limited testing on desktop. No problem occurs - Entering Troubleshooting Mode on Firefox - Clearing cookies and cache - Reinstall Firefox (including installing from command line instead of the snap store) - Updated Firefox - Refreshed Firefox - About:Processes doesn't show anything using more than 10-15% of CPU at any one time - Limited testing with a new Firefox profile. No problem occurs - Disabled WebGL and Hardware Acceleration.

Temporary fix: Restarting Firefox, but the problem re-occurs shortly after use.

Using Ubuntu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firefox is leaving behind a small window/artifact that cannot be closed through task manager. You can move any other application such at outlook or even a chrome browser to hide the window, but it will stay on top of any Firefox window that is placed on that monitor. I have disabled and enabled use of GPU, and ran a refresh from the troubleshooting section. He is running Inspiron 15 3511 windows 10. Any other ideas out there? See attached picture.

Yesterday my son had issue with FFox and uninstalled and re-installed. Upon doing this all my other firefox instances lost their pinned sites on the home page.

is there a way to configure a firefox instance as the bastion of truth, so that all other instances sync to it? and it asks before it makes changes?

Or even better after a sync have a list of what changed, and perhaps an undo.

Hello, I will try to explain as best as I can.

In our web app, for authentication, we manually set our cookies (document.cookie = cookie) after receiving the tokens from the login request. We work with 2 cookies, 1 for the access and 1 to refresh the access one if it expires. The refresh cookie has a longer time to expire.

When we login on a fresh session with no cookies at all in the storage tab in the dev tools, all is fine. I actually tested this by setting a random cookie and then using the debugger to add a breakpoint on the very next line of code and then typing document.cookie in the console and it is present.

The problem appears when trying to login after the cookies expired. They are still present in the storage tab in the dev tools. Somehow, manually setting the cookies again doesn't actually set the cookies or it takes some time and our app is stuck on the login page because it doesn't pass our checks that it actually has the access cookie. Using the same test described above, re-setting a cookie that expired and using the debugger again to add a breakpoint on the very next line of code and then typing document.cookie in the console does not show the cookie.

This issue does not reproduce on other browsers and it started with version 116.0.3.

For a more step by step to reproduce the issue: 1. Use document.cookie = cookie with a expiry time of 20 seconds 2. Wait for 20 seconds to pass 3. Set the same cookie again 4. Use the debugger to set a breakpoint after setting the cookie 5. Type document.cookie in the console whilst in the breakpoint pause 6. The cookie doesn't show in the document.cookie call

We use FireFox 118+ . our product needs to collect all cookies, including 3rd party cookies from any domain loaded.

* We have turned off "Total Cookie Protection" by selecting Custom privacy settings and un-checking all check boxes (sceenshot attached)
  • Also turned off "Enhanced Tracking Protection" for the website

But, when we browse to any site, the collected cookies under cross-domain are either empty or less compared to chrome.

Is there any other setting we can use to collect all the cookies ?

ex domain : https://www.santander.com/es/home , if you compare the cookies collected with chrome are much more than whats captured in FireFox.

Please help, this is crucial

Thanks,

Hail:

System Software: Win11Ent_x64 v22H2 (b: 22621.2283) MFF v18.5.0.0

No matter what I try, my MFF keeps crashing at startup. For some reason, it tries to open 2 pages the windows at the same time, which is illogical. I deleted firstly my: sessionstore.jsonlz4 logins.json to no avail.

Then I tried to open MFF through elevated CMD with the command: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -safe-mode Again, 2 windows pop crashing immediately.

I do not understand why all of the sudden, it tries to open 2 different instances at once. This makes no sense. I am out of ideas, having tried many an option found on Google, but which none give me a solution.

If anyone has an idea, I would be quite darn thankful. This MSEdge crap that I need to use now is not quite my thing.

Thank you. Ke'Ylan

I downloaded the latest Firefox for security which appeared on my page. I thought it was a good idea. However I play games in Facebook and do a lot of jigsaw type games. After downloading I could not load my games to play at all. It affected all of them. I just deleted the latest firefox and downloaded the one from the Mozilla page and now they work. Why did this happen. I like Firefox I like security however I do want to be able to use other sites that may have blocked or decided they do not like the way Firefox is taking away their advertising $$$$

I really want to use firefox. I really do. But firefox's memory management is making that very difficult.

I have 8GB of RAM, which really ought to be enough, but inevitably, over time, firefox will munch and munch and munch until it has consumed all of it.

And then... my system crashes. I lose work. I get angry.

Well, okay, I use linux, so after this happened a few times I stuck firefox in a systemd scope and limit it to 90% of the memory of my system. At first, that didn't work because firefox would simply eat into the pagefile, until it had consumed all of it (or as much as I entitled it to), at which point firefox would desperately try to do.... something, very frantically, which would lock the CPU usage to 100%, again bringing down the system. So I limit its RAM and prohibit it from using the pagefile, and now, it's just firefox that dies.

....

But, really, that's still a problem. I still have emails partially written, forms filled out, work is still lost. Is it really so abhorrent to take out the trash that you'd rather just commit suicide instead? I say take out the trash, because firefox will restart, reload those very same tabs, and carry on with a fraction of the memory usage. Something's been dropped, and it wasn't important (well, other than the content of that email I've been composing for the last half hour).

So. If I'm going to continue using firefox, which I would very much like to do, there needs to be some way for it to gracefully say to the user: "I've run out of available memory. I'm going to have to..." (for example) 1. perform garbage collection (do whatever 'minimize memory use' seems to do... which is not much, but something that really ought to be the default action in this situation) 2. clear the buffer of some videos being played, or some cached results or something, i dunno. 3. gracefully stop loading the current tab, or process, or whatever, and say to the user "I've run out of resources to continue. Please choose one or more tabs to close in order to continue"

Then, at least, I can sacrifice my background music tab, or something else unimportant, to buy enough time to copy that email into notepad, submit that form, or just run 'minimize memory usage', and be able to carry on.

I can log into mozilla and edge browser on this pc. I can log into mozilla on Android app. I CANNOT LOG INTO MOZILLA ON THE MOZILLA BROWSER ON PC.

I have changed my password multiple times and had to use 2 backup codes all to install google authentification app on my phone. I cannot do this from my edge browser. I also have tried multiple times to install the vpn but that hasn't been successful either.

Mozilla needs a video tutorial on how to do this successfully especially when you don't have a QR code. Im just glad that i saved my backup codes.
