I got a little gungho when I was trying to figure out why my website wouldn't load on firefox and loaded on chrome and safari - and I did some 'cleaning up' and deleted certificates. Now nothing will load. I've deleted the cert8.db, and tried the steps under "Corrupted certificate store" in this article: What does "Your connection is not secure" mean? Reset Firefox, deleted and reinstalled firefox, and still nothing works, and I continue to get this error on all https sites:

FF version 59.0.3 kaspersky internet security suite
of late, when a new version of firefox comes out they break something.
i am seriously thinking of chrome - heaven's forbid - but at least it works.
so any help to resolve this issue would be great before i enter the evil chrome empire :-(
since firefox updated to the above version i get the following error messages on some major websites, like bbc.co.uk, wikipedia, and others, some websites work, i have added some as exclusion but other websites don't give me the option.
the websites work in the Edge browsers ok.
some website sort of work, they just display strangely, mainly text and very little formatting at that.
i have set kaspersky to not scan encrypted connections in the network section, but that stop the mymoney protected browser from kaspersky from working!
i seem to spend more time getting firefox to work after an update, i'm at the point now where i just can't be bothered anymore.
i have cleared caches and other things i have seen as suggested fixes.
firefox states...

Symptom: I cannot connect to any Mozilla.org websites. I cannot update Firefox. I cannot get any Mozilla approved add-ons to download. I have tried to connect to Mozilla.org using all of the Big Three browsers out there and I have the same problem of not being able to connect to Mozilla.org or any of Mozilla's affiliated websites on any of the browsers. I am using Windows 10 and currently have the Firefox 68.0.1build. I have separately ran three different top-tier antivirus programs on my desktop PC and nothing noteworthy was found. I completely uninstalled the antivirus programs and still no connection to Mozilla.org. I tried DNS flush and tried a different DNS server, I tried resetting the modem and router, checked the PC's date and time settings, ensured that no parental controls were enabled, ensured that JavaScript was enabled, removed all Firefox extensions, restarted Firefox in safe mode, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and still have the same problem. I tried connecting to Mozilla.org with a free online proxy VPN and was finally successful although Mozilla's GUI didn't completely load correctly. I am able to quickly and efficiently connect to every other website on the web with any browser including Firefox, but none of the web browsers including Firefox will connect to any Mozilla affiliated or Mozilla extension websites on my PC. When trying to access any Mozilla.org website, the page buffers for several minutes and then the page display's the error code PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. Sometimes I get an auto-update message on my Firefox browser that states that a new version is available and so I click to download the new version and all I get is buffering and no downloading. Then a new message appears after a few minutes stating that Firefox didn't download correctly and that I need to reinstall Firefox. I uninstall Firefox but cannot access any Mozilla.org website to reinstall Firefox because after clicking the link to access the Mozilla webpage there is nothing but buffer and no access. Using the free online web based VPN I was able to reinstall Firefox, but I still have to same issues. If I run Windows 10 in safe mode with networking I am able to access all Mozilla.org websites and install Firefox extensions. Is there any known fix to get this issue fixed while running my PC in normal mode apart from completely uninstalling and reinstalling Windows?

Was there a recent change that invalidates private certificates, with it's private CA imported into my FF CA repository?
What I have set up, which worked not too long ago, which was defining the IP address and host name in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Then importing the remote site's private CA certificate in FF. From that point on, it trusted my private URLs due to matching private CA. Now, generates SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE.
I renamed the cert8.db file and restarted FF. I now get the normal "untrusted" error then re-imported the private CA to make the "untrusted" error go away. However, that still gave me SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE. So, something must've changed.
I even tried disabling OCSP checking (thought it was optional if it couldn't check). I then disabled OCSP Stapling. Neither resolved this issue, thinking it was trying to check with the OCSP server, which it can't reach due to firewall since it's internal to the other private LAN.
I'm not sure where to look. I tried Googling for answers, which lead me to the above two solutions to try.
The CA I have is a private CA, generated by Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with the Active Directory Certificate Authority installation. Like I said, it was working in FF fairly recently. Let me know what else you need for me to provide.

Hi Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center site home page is secure (https://) but when I click on an inside page (resources) I get an invalid certificate warning "The site attempts to identify itself with invalid information". Doesn't matter whether I use Chrome or Firefox I still get the same message.
I tried to access this site a few weeks ago and got the same thing. At that time I changed my computer clock but it didn't make any difference. I viewed the certificate and the dates are valid, apart from that I can't tell much. I will try to upload a screenshot.
I just want to access the online resources for Spanish. I have no intention of giving away my bank account details so I wonder if I can make an exception and consult the site anyway.
If anyone can give any advice I would be really grateful as I don't want to get a virus etc.
Thanks.

"Advanced" shows... The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported.
64 bit Windows 7, Microsoft Security Essentials. One Admin Account & 2 Users. Problem User Account had problems a couple of weeks ago. I believe I tried to Delete the Profile and Create a new one, but I can't recall the details other than some information was left that I didn't expect.
