Did a backup of bookmarks then did a export of bookmarks to html..this was a pre-caution..Did not know that it would remove the bookmarks !!! So then first tried a restore of bookmarks get a error unable to process file so then tried a import from html file same as the one just exported and get no data or import..So what next to get my bookmarks back ????

Until a few days ago I was using firefox (40.0.2) in Windows 10 (home x32) without any kind of problem, but suddenly (without installing any plugin, or change any configuracion, etc.) have appeared several problems: The Bookmarks have disappeared and now I can not save any new ones, the customization does not work (the window about:customizing remains blank), and the search bar on the home page of Firefox is not working.

I already tried the solution described in "Can not add, change or save bookmarks - How to fix" without result.

Is it a general error? Or is personnel mine? How I can fix it?

Don't know what I did, but my bookmarks seem to be gone. I went through one process as outlined here and was able to get them, but when I closed and re-opened firefox they were gone again. Help would be appreciated.

I have 10 bookmarks on my bookmarks bar. After moving them around so that they are in the order I want them, I close firefox. When I reopen firefox, the bookmarks have been moved around and are not in the order I placed them.

Is there a way to lock their position on the bookmarks bar?
