The other day I updated Firefox from 58.0.2 to 59.0.2 and upon restarting my browser I discovered that most, not all, but most of my tabs wouldn't load.It was just a blank screen when I would click on one.I would right click the back and forward arrows and it would show the session history for that tab, but that's all.I couldn't go forward, or backward, or even reload.After freaking out a bit and getting frustrated over not knowing what was happening, or how to fix it, eventually I rolled back my browser to version 58.0.2.Then my tabs were working again.

I could open new tabs, but I don't want to and shouldn't have lose my current tabs with all their session histories just to update my browser.I thought I would bring that to....I don't know....someone's attention in the hopes that Mozilla will fix this because I don't know how to contact them directly.

Hi FireFox support, We are developing a web application with javascript, we use firefox as our default browser for our users.

Now we met a problem when we use window.open in our application.

In our application, we need to open new page in a new browser tab, we used code : window.open('http://ourUrl.com', '_blank');

The action of the browser is different according when this line of code is executed.

situation1: user clicked a button, the click event will trigger our js function, in this function, execute this line of code directly, then the browser may open the page in a new browser tab. (this is what we wanted.)

situation2: user clicked a button, we firstly submit the data on page to our server, and in the callback function, we execute this line of code, it may pop an independent new window without tool bar.(this is not what we wanted).

I don't understand why the action of browser is different, can you help to explain? Thanks.

For some reason this afternoon, when i go onto Mozilla Firefox, and select another tab, Amazon.com goes into every tab I select. This has also happened with Google Chrome. On Mozilla, Amazon.com has also made itself the home page, although I had bbc.co.uk as the home page. I have uninstalled Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, and then reinstalled both browsers, which I though had finally stopped it from doing it, only for it to start doing it about 30 minutes later. It doesnt do it with Internet Explorer but I prefer to use Firefox and also Google Chrome so it is frustrating to find out why is this happening. I have done a full antivirus scan and virus definitions are up-to-date, and nothing has shown up to indicate it is viral. Any ideas ?

I often open multiple pages such as two or three and want one on top the other below but if I click minimize they all get hide. How could I view multiple pages?

Bring me back my old firefox UI. I hate firefox 29. It doesn't help me do things quicker and the those bl**dy curvy tabs! Try that with 20+ tabs open...

Please, please revert this retro step in your next version. There's nothing that I'd call an improvement. And a leaky bandaid in the form of an addon is waste of good intentions.

When I open Firefox , multiple tabs open!! I have done everything from changing the pipe to %7C , scanning for malware , resetting my homepage to just one , and just about every other solution stated in your help community!! I had this problem once before , I did something and it worked! That was a few months ago so I don't remember what I did! It's like that Firefox is not remembering any changes that I make! And yes , I looked up solutions as to why that Firefox isn't changing my preferences or saving my changes also! And I have tried almost all of those solutions too! Nothing is working... thank you for your time...

The "NEW TAB" features suck, to put it plainly in computer speak terms. With so many people asking how it works or how to change it back to the old design, wouldn't it be best to compile all the negative feedback and confusion over this new format, and reverse it back to the old design? As the saying goes..."IF IT AIN'T BROKE...DONT FIX IT." I won't even use the NEW TAB page now as I don't have any desire to figure out or read how to get my links to be remembered and stored there again. Many of my links aren't there anymore, and even visiting the sites, is not putting those page links back onto the NEW TAB page for selection. Honestly this thing just junk. You guys need to quit changing things that work. Sometimes when something is created.....you got it right the first time. Sorry but starting to miss Internet Explorer. They didn't change much, but.. when they did...it was only the things that needed updating or a fix.

I have the 8 tabs i want on my tab page. Other sites i visit don't need to be on my tab page put show up there anyway. There used to be an edit feature to easily "dismiss" the page/tab from the page. Only tabs i want on this page are tabs I put there. But if you are going to auto-populate then it should be easy to un-populate, it's not easy any more because the edit button is gone. Just because I visit a site doesn't mean I want it on my tabs page. Make sense? Unless I want it there, at which time I would put it there.

On 2 different PCs with Win7x32 and Win7x64 after update Firefox to 63 all tabs icons disappeared from previous session? This issue was on FF52 but Mozilla quickly resolve it by update.

I have Firefox set up to always restore all tabs from my previous session and remember my search history, but all my tabs are gone and my search history has been wiped out. And the Restore Previous Session option is grayed out.

I don't even remember how I found most of the tabs that I have up, and I only have some of them bookmarked. Can you please help me get them back? Thank you.

By the way, I don't have Firefox as my default browser, so trying to download my profile didn't work. Do I need to have Firefox as my default browser to solve this problem?

One more thing: I was having some trouble with my internet connection, so I shut down my computer and rebooted my router. Is that why this happened, and does this mean that my tabs are gone forever?

By the way, I do see a folder icon on my desktop that says "Old Firefox Data," but all the data in there is from 2016, so that's not what I'm looking for.

Since the new update, tabs are on top again. And the fix for the last time it no longer worked (as usual) is not valid anymore. What must I do now? And why is firefox so set on placing the tabs on top? Thanks

I do not know how to make sure that firefox opens links in a new tab. In Preferences I checked the option 'always open in a new tab instead of a new window' but that does not work: links are always opened in the same tab but not in a new one. How to make that happen?

On start up today my previous session has not been restored. TooManyTabs add on is also missing from toolbar, and nothing is showing in the bookmarks side panel. There is also a lot of empty space in the open window top section . Everything was working fine when I closed last night.

I open up a new tab and it used to show up my recent history in about 12 boxes but now I get this:

'The address isn't valid

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.

Suddenly, firefox started automatically opening tabs non-stop. I had to stop the computer. After restarting firefox, the tools/options started opening in a separate tab and not in a box as before. I tried to follow your instructions, but saw that browser preference inContent was already set at false. So the problem did not come from there. Then I refreshed firefox. Since then in configuration page, browser preference inContent has disappeared. And tools/options continues to open in a tab. I would like this to open in a box as before. Could you please tell me what to do? Thanks.

I had a similar question going before the thread was removed. This new Firefox takes away an add-on I desperately need again. I'd not not to say its name for fear my question may be taken down again, but, it rhymes with Multi-Socks.

Is there anyway to change containers without opening a new tab? I have 3 eBay accounts I was able to stay logged in and switch through within the same tab with the now defunct extension.

Now, I can't figure out how to accomplish this.

OR, is there a way for me to set up tabs to open in different containers on opening Firefox?

New rectangular interface and tabs are awful. I had to move to Google Chrome after this. Please allow users to customize the interface in their own way. Via addons, plugins, themes or settings...

Hello! I'm trying to change my new tab page to home page, I tried New Tab Homepage and My Homepage but they don't work. I also can't install New Tab Override. I'm using firefox-trunk (Nightly) 63.0a1 (2018-08-09) (64-bit) on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

Also I don't want to use Firefox Stable because he's more greedy than Nightly, I don't know why or if when I test Firefox Stable I have more tabs but when I use Nightly, it's better than Stable for this

For as long as I can remember, all my new tabs opened into a Google search window. But now, they open into a Search Mozilla Support window. That's not what I want -- I want to restore the Google search window.

I've checked the forums, and followed the advice on changing this: Settings > Search > One-Click Search Engines.

That doesn't work for me, because Mozilla Support is selected as my search engine, and the Restore Default Search Engines button is greyed out. When I click the tab for Find More Search Engines, there's no sign of Google.

Does Mozilla hate Google?

I'm using Firefox 69.0.2 on a 2017 iMac running OS Mojave, 10.14.5.
