Hello the old motherboard (Nforce 410/ Geforce6100 AMD X2 4200) finally died, found a newer (used) board with CPU and RAM. Now have Asrock 960GC-GS, AM FX 4300, 4GB DDR3

XP repair OK, most things running alright. Firefox and the avast anti-virus are crashing.

The dump says exceptionillegal instruction. What does that mean? Something wrong with my CPU ? Firefox running an instruction not supported?

It crashes at startup, but not every time. Currently using onboard video (ATI Radeon 3000 graphics) HW acceleration off.

Please advise here's the ID of some of the crashes

I am having same issue like user there: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1139845 (only i have different OS)

When having multiple tabs open, Firefox never ask me for confirmation when i click Firefox window close button in the corner (usually accidentally). And i want confirmation.

in about:config i have:

browser.showQuitWarning true (this is marked as customized (bold) value, like default is false)

browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab true

and when i close Firefox (usually accidentally) i receive crash reporter window which i usually submit.

update: one member claims that close confirmation is never shown for single window Firefox, only multiple Firefox windows. I think this is bad idea s probably half people not using multiple windows, only multiple tabs.

After using firefox for a while (usually longer than an hour consecutively) I will occasionally scroll on a webpage, only to have the scroll icon which appears not disappear after I have stopped scrolling. Interestingly, the scroll bars do not disappear even upon closing firefox; currently, the only way I have found to get rid of them is to restart my pc. I have attached some screenshots to better convey this issue, and if there is anything else I can do or provide let me know!

Thanks

Since upgrading to the newest Firefox last night, my bookmarks menu now repeats itself. It shows 'recently added' bookmarks (which I don't want to see at all) and then offers two MORE chances to look at them. This pushes my actual bookmarks way down the page and has totally screwed up the way I work. Not happy. Can anybody help?

I'm sending a screen shot of the problem menu.

I know this isn't a new issue but it's new to me and, try though I might, I can't solve it. So here I am.

I'm trying to make the new tab command or button open just a blank page. I've found suggestions to try but none has worked. I've tried a couple of add-ons and even edited my about:config page (when that didn't work, I put it back). I don't use tiles but I never have so can't imagine that would suddenly be triggering this. I couldn't see anything in the release notes that would point to this behavior but what I found wasn't a detailed list of changes.

I swear I had this until the latest upgrade and am strongly tempted to backwards install. Or switch to Sea Monkey but then I'd loose many of the features I've come to rely on.

If anyone has an idea I'd be most grateful for the help.

When using Firefox & Xfinity TV app to watch live TV on HD channel audio is garbled; picture poor. SD channels work OK. App works w Chrome & MS Edge. Fix?

I have an HP Pavilion computer updated to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and plenty of available bandwidth from Comcast. My problem occurs when using the Xfinity TV application with the Mozilla Firefox browser (Version. 49.0.1). This application gives me access on my desktop and laptop computers and Galaxy Note 5 to all of the Xfinity X1 platform content including live TV channels to which I subscribe to from Comcast when I am viewing them while at home. This content is accessed through the Live TV function contained in the Xfinity TV application. Hence, when using this application, I can watch one channel on a TV and a second on my computer. While this application is fully functional with Chrome and Microsoft Edge is does not work well with Mozilla Firefox. The problem occurs when I try to use the Xfinity TV application to watch a live broadcast of a TV program being broadcast in high definition using my computer and HP HD 25 inch monitor. When watching the high definition broadcast the picture is jumpy (flickers) and the audio is garbled, choppy and not understandable. These problems do not occur when a standard definition broadcast of a live TV program is being watched using the Mozilla Firefox browser. Xfinity TV application works properly with Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. Is there a setting in Firefox or other fix for this problem.

I don't know why - possibly after a firefox update to 49.0.2? But Firefox on Windows 10 is no longer saving or using my saved passwords. When I try to display saved logins, there are none showing. However, I do have intact key3.db and logins.json files, and I can see in logins.json that there are lots of logins stored in there. So I'm sure the data are there, but just not being read.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. Refresh didn't help. Synch seems to connect, but doesn't help. Isn't there some command to force the browser to read the saved logins file?

My settings are as follows...

Use custom settings for history Remember my browsing and download history Remember search and form history Accept cookies from sites Accept third party cookies "Always" Keep until "I close Firefox" Clear history when Firefox closes

One example of an exception I have is hotmail http://outlook.live.com "allow" It still clears active login when I close Firefox. This is the site I'd like to keep the active login going.

Settings for clearing history Cookies and Cache are the only two with check marks

I have gone to the hotmail website, right clicked the page and clicked view page info. I have clicked the permissions tab and set cookies from default to allow.

Nothing I have done is keeping my hotmail active login.

Greetings. Recently my Firefox started acting a bit weird right after start up. More or less 30-40 seconds after I turn it on it starts to use up 20-30% of my CPU (i5) and starts hogging more RAM, it lasts for some 15-30 seconds, sometimes more and then everything goes back to normal. I turned off all my add-ons and plugins, nothing worked. I also made a new profile and it seems to be happening there too but for only a couple of seconds. I'm a little bit worried if this some virus or something else...

Hi,

Often, like 1/10 times, it's very long (10-15 seconds) to hit a website (any website, like google.com).

I don't have this problem with other browsers (chrome, ie).

Same problem after completely reinstalled firefox (first deleting Mozilla folder in %appdata%).

Same when connect directly to modem.

Why only firefox does that ?
