Firefox recently started asking for a profile when I tried opening a link from email but, not having a profile, I ignored it. If I copied the link into my firefox browser (already open) I could see the link contents, i.e. page(s) opened. Since then I have closed Firefox and now get asked about a profile and have tried using original and creating a new one. We have, unfortunately, reinstalled firefox so this is now more complex. At present, whether I login to Mozilla account or not, my passwords, history etc are no longer on my laptop, despite supposedly being connected. Firefox on my phone is currently the only source of my passwords etc, which is not good as I cannot export from there!

Can I restore this info somehow? We've tried a few suggestions found on the web, but no good yet.

Has something changed recently? My husband got the same profile request on opening Firefox but it worked when he selected use original/default profile.

I went to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-backup] and under "Create a Firefox backup file" at step 3 it says, "Scroll down to Backup, and click Manage backup" but when I went there no such "Manage backup" option exists as you can see in the attached screen capture. So what gives? How can I "Create a Firefox backup file"? I am using Firefox v147.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11 Please instruct. Thanks RJB

why do I get this error page when I click on an e mail from Homedepo.com and it I type homedepot.com I get in with no problems. I tried to wipe out the cookies and I wiped out everything that made life easier and made even the easy things like signing in (or really I never had to re sign into my e mail) to my hotmail or gmail? I don't have this problem on my Linux laptop?

I moved some old folders to Trash but they won't delete. I've changed the retention policy, tried to delete individual emails, repaired the folders, restarted FireFox many times, but they're still in Trash. How can I permanently get rid of them? Thanks

I use an iMac (2019) and MacBook (2015) but my tabs aren't syncing between the two.

I've refreshed the syncing a few times but the MacBook is still showing two lots of tabs for the iMac, and both of them are showing pages that are no longer open.

I'd really like to be able to move between the two so if anyone has any suggestions on how to get FireFox to sync, I'd be really grateful. :-)

Hi, I just installed the latest update today and all my bookmarks disappeared and I can't find them to restore. I have a newer computer with windows 11 installed. Just wondering how to get them back. Dave

Ever since Firefox updated (to 147.0, I assume), I can no longer get ChatGPT to work. It does nothing when I click on "Log in" (I have a ChatGPT account), and the up arrow that you hit (or enter button) after asking a question does nothing (and the up arrow stays greyed out even while you are typing the question). I can use ChatGPT just fine on my Safari browser and iPhone. I used my iPhone ChatGPT to take me through steps to help, and it had me do several things (all of which did not work). These included: 1) refreshing the page/restarting; 2) open chat.openai.com, clicked lock icon and clicked "clear cookies and site data" and reloaded the page; 3) did same and clicked on the shield icon and toggled off "enhanced tracking protection"; 4) Went to file and "new private window", then chat.openai.com; 5) went to "about:support" in Firefox and clicked "refresh Firefox"; 6) Went to Firefox Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Permissions, then Block pop-up windows, then clicked exceptions and added "https://chat.openai.com"; 7) Then to Firefox Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site data, then manage exceptions, then added also "https://openai.com"; 8) Then changed enhanced tracking protection to Custom and unchecked cookies (cross-site tracking cookies) and restarted Firefox (I have since rechecked the box); 9) When I log into Firefox, it was showing a banner that read "Your privacy matters. Firefox now securely routes your DNS requests whenever possible to a partner service to protect you while you browse." Chat said to click "Disable" for this.; 10) After refreshing Firefox I chose (the 2nd time) "Restore only the ones you want" and opened a new tab. 11) At one point, I hit "Log in" for ChatGPT and the screen went slightly blurry and a new small rounded rectangular box (about 3 inches long) popped up, and Chat told me to hit the "X" to close that box, it then said to right-click on "Log In', and to choose "open link in new tab", but that option was not available. Chat says Firefox is still failing to load the embedded login frame, even after refresh. 12) I logged into "https://chat.openai.com/auth/login, and that still didn't work in Firefox, either. 13) Finally, I changed to Safari and successfully logged in. But I prefer Firefox as my main browser and want ChatGPT to work! I've even tried adding it to my sidebar (the new feature), and the same problems are occurring. It won't let me log in, and I can't ask it any questions. Help!  :)

I use FF 146.0.1 64-bit on MacOs Sonoma.

I experience this weird FF behaviour. I usually keep FF open all the time. After a while, days, maybe weeks, some UI elements start flashing when I hover the mouse above them. As an example, I use the whatsapp web UI. When this happens, I cannot click anymore on the emoji icon (on the right side of the message) to add an emoji icon to a message because that icon is flashing like crazy when I hover the mouse above it, and when I click the mouse I cannot hit it. Refreshing the page doesn't fix it. What I usually do is I restart the browser and then it gets its brains back.

I am just curious if any of you experienced this. It starts to become annoying.

Since latest upgrade (1/16/2026) I cannot log in to Outlook email. This is specific to Firefox 147.0.1 (Chrome and Pop Peeper logins to Outlook work fine). I tried clearing cache, updating, restarting, rebooting, trouble-shooting mode, private window etc. to no avail. I get 400 error from Outlook.

Whenever I try to access the Powerball website I get the following response -

I have no issue with other browsers.

After updating to Firefox 147 from 146, it seems that some areas in page rendering are becoming corrupted.

Using the attached example from https://soundcloud.com/solarstone/tracks, it is possible to see a corrupted song bar. In the other song, where the full bar chart should also appear, there is a black area, which seems like a different kind of corruption where the content is simply not being displayed.

This did not happen in version 146.

Is there anything I can do, or any information I can provide, to help debug this issue?

Background is a little complex. We have been running Win 10 under the ESU, My wife had her box unintentionally do a Win 11 update. She then started a backup which then looked like it would take days, so she aborted it after a while and ran the procedure to revert to Win 10, which then completed successfully. I think she then rebooted and opened Firefox and all her prior windows were there and working, After a while they got slower and slower, so she closed Firefox, might have rebooted and restarted Firefox. She now has 37 windows that are all completely blank. There is a New Tab tab and now URL in any window,

Is there any way that would likely recover all those open windows? Or, at least the URLs of all the tabs?

My selected topic "settings" actually does not really describe my tabs problem. Even though I followed instructions for entering "about:unloads" the expected webpage did not appear. All I got was the same instructions and not a page that included the table and its unload button that was said to be above it. When I select the New Page tab and right click and then select three tabs, the right-click menu only shows the option to "close three tabs." There is not an option to unload three tabs. Yikes! And when I select one tab and click on the one option to unload one tab, the selected tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. It is still there. (???) This is very frustrating! I can only close tabs. So far I can only temporarily close them. Could the problem be that I am still using Windows 10? Please advise. After being prompted to update the browser this morning, and after I updated it, I can no longer use ChatGPT. Chat GPT will open, but it's unresponsive, can't log in, the arrow button to submit an inquiry doesn't work, and none of the other features of ChatGPT are working

When I try to change the wallpaper in WhatsApp, Firefox freezes completely. I have Windows 11 Home 25H2 on a Dell Ultra 9 PC with 64GB RAM.

I've taken these measures without success:

1. Logged out of WhatsApp.
2. Deleted cookies & browser cache.
3. Logged into WhatsApp.
4. Tried Troubleshoot mode.

This issue doesn't happen in Chrome or Edge. WhatsApp Support had no further advice to give.
