So I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox because it keeps freezing and crashing after a Windows update. My thought process was that it was alright for me to do it since I can always log in and have my bookmarks and other stuff synched. But now I don't see any option that lets me recover all my data. Did I messed up and threw away my years worth of data or can I still recover them?

I am able to successfully load any webpage to which I browse. Firefox opens hyper links normally, UNLESS it happens to be on my school's website under the Canvas platform. Quizzes and tests will not load. The quiz "page" loads, but the internal data does not... that is to say, the external framework of the page loads, but none of the actual material loads. I do not have any add-ons or additional extensions loading on my browser, so it's some kind of miscommunication between the school and Firefox. If I use Microsoft Edge, the page loads up completely normal with no hitches... BUT Firefox is my preferred browser.

Any idea what's the hang-up?

This link in Firefox (for example) displays no article text or pictures. However the same link on Chrome displays the complete article and pictures. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2022/06/20/bears-ears-national-monument-tribes/

Sometimes the article comes up in Firefox, but then reverts after awhile to no text and pictures. If I refresh the page, the text and pictures return for awhile. Sometimes though the text pictures are not displayed until I refresh several times. This seems to happen only on the Washington Post. I would think it's the post, but Chrome displays the pages without any problems. This problem doesn't seem to happen on WASH PO main page, just articles off of main page. Can anyone help?

I have a problem with how firefox is treating link to the file of type ".wotmod". For some reason firefox without asking is just opening file in the active tab (displaying it in the browser) when what I want to do is to download the file. Can i somehow force firefox to let me decide what to do with files of that extension? I did set action for all available ContentTypes to "Always ask" and I did check "Ask whether to open or save files" option in settings, but still Firefox is just opening those files in the browser. Other browsers like Chrome or Edge are letting me download the file, but I would prefer to use firefox for all my browsing needs. For anyone interested [[here|https://gitlab.com/wot-public-mods/replays-manager/-/releases]] is the link to gitlab release page containing multiple links to files of affected type. Below I have added screenshot of my settings: https://user-media-prod-cdn.itsre-sumo.mozilla.net/uploads/images/2022-06-16-13-10-17-d4c7aa.png

Recently got a new computer. Log in to gmail and after about 5 to 10 minutes of being in gmail I get an error message saying the connection failed and it must reconnect. Its not a internet issue. I can still go other places in a browser or have access to anything on the network. It is only Gmail. This didn't happen before on my old computer. I have reinstalled Firefox, gutted and reinstalled Firefox, tried it with a new profile. Tried it with the profile from my old computer. I cannot get it to stop. I found a setting online for HTTP time out for Firefox. I did increase that time out to 10 minutes but that did not seem to resolve the issue. It isn't a network connectivity issue from what I can tell as I don't lose internet or have any issue access other resources both locally or on the internet.

I am having an odd problem. For years now, I have always used Gmail and its integrated chat function on a daily basis through Firefox. I upgraded to their new chat a while ago with no problems until yesterday.

Starting yesterday, Gmail started getting a bit choppy with me in Firefox on my home connection. Google chat, if it loads at all, will very quickly tell me that it is unable to connect to individual conversations. Indeed, the windows for those conversations will not even load. This is the same regardless of whether I try to load chat through the main Gmail window or if I try to load chat directly at chat.google.com. The site works fine when I test it through Chrome. I have tried clearing cookies and refreshing the site data. It does not seem to matter if I am in incognito mode, so I don't think this is an extension problem. I've added exceptions for my antivirus, so I don't think it's that either.

The REALLY odd thing, however, is that the problem apparently seems to appear only when I am using Firefox and I have my computer connected to my router over ethernet. Firefox loads chat fine when my computer is just on wi-fi (and, again, seems to be fine regardless of whether I'm on ethernet or wi-fi when it comes to Chrome).

I'm not quite sure what to make of this. Other websites seem to be loading in Firefox as normal, regardless of whether I'm on ethernet or wi-fi. Perhaps the only other notable connection problem is that I have had problems with buffering on Spotify that has cropped up at roughly the same time (this one happens on both Chrome and Firefox).

It may well be that my ethernet cable got damaged somehow overnight, but given the fact that other websites have been fine and that I load Gchat fine when using Chrome, I figured I'd ask here to see if there is something I can check on the software side of things because given the setup up in my apartment, restringing a new ethernet cable would be a bit of a hassle. I'm happy to provide any additional information or logs that I can, but I only consider myself an educated layperson when it comes to computers, so I'm not sure what to attach that could be helpful.

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

Yesterday I got signed out of my Firefox Sync and when I tried logging in, I realized I don't have Firefox in my authenticator app any longer. I have found Firefox recovery codes, which were issued in 2019 when I enabled 2FA, however when I try using them I get "Recovery code not found."

Can these recovery codes be used to prove my account ownership, even if I somehow generated new codes after 2019 but didn't save them (which I doubt, but it's not impossible) ?

I am not logged in on any other device so I cannot disable the 2FA that way. Is there any hope?

Hello, I am using Firefox 101.0.1 (64-bit) on windows 11 Pro

I am unable to search through tags in firefox address bar as explained here in this documentation https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox

with that said, the problem is only with "+ tagname" not working, as I am able to filter through bookmarks using "* bookmark" and history and tabs. However, for tag search with "+", firefox doesn't work.

Kindly help,

Here is some additional information I collected based on other similar issues that might help.

Not, sure if the search byTag function is removed from Firefox or not ??

When I type my website in the bar, firefox puts www in front of it, which causes the warning page: firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.karinchappell.com. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

If I remove the www by backspacing it, the page loads correctly.

I've checked the website: "SSL is enabled on your site, and an SSL certificate was detected on your site."

When I've asked around the techies I know, I've been told this is an antiquated way of dealing with it. Please advise.
