The original way I set up my account was with [edited] @unseen.is; showing with the little icon next to it in the upper right corner of the page (Lockwise)

That ISP is no longer functioning. Therefore, when signing in, the prompt says, to "check my email". But of course I can't because it no longer exists!

I can't seem to figure out how to change it to This one from which I'm sending this message from: [edited] @proton.me

However I did change the https://accounts.firefox.com in the Firefox Lockwise. (See attached image)

Hello. I have recently not been able to download to my old iMac. I am using Firefox 78.15.0esr (64-bit), which is supposedly up to date. My download folder has always been the designated location for downloads. I am trying for the past few days to download from Neil Young Archives. I have successfully downloaded from them in the past. I refreshed my browser, and the problem seemed to clear up, as the My Downloads folder on the NYA site showed my purchases and responded to me clicking the download button, but the download failed;I got a message that the source folder could not be found, and only a small .zip file appeared in my macs download folder. Then I tried again, and the NYA downloading process ran, but nothing appeared on my computer and the download progress arrow showed no activity. I don't know if this is a Firefox issue, a Neil Young Archives issue, or what, but I am befuddled. Please advise if you can. Thank you. --Brian Irving

I always thought Firefox Sync was kind of a backup service. Today I was disappointed to learn that Firefox Sync cannot be trusted as a backup service.

A search for “firefox sync” finds 2,929 results in Community Discussion Only.

As late as 2/2/23, Top 10 Contributor Paul says: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1404105#answer-1563509

“It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device... The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.”

I looked through all the Mozilla Help Articles I could find about Firefox Sync. Not one of them mentions that Firefox Sync should not be relied upon as a backup service.

Then I found this blog searching Google: “The Future of Sync”. https://blog.mozilla.org/services/2020/09/15/the-future-of-sync/

In the blog, JR Conlin says, among other things: “A New Hope Service: A lot of folks expected it to be a Backup service. The good news is, now it is a backup service. Sync is more reliable now.”

JR Conlin posted the above blog in Sept 2020. Is there anyone who can comment on JR Conlin’s statement or the progress of his and his team’s work?

I just "discovered" the existence of ESR, as 78.15 on my wife's beloved 2009 Mac OS 10.11. Our newer Mac is ok with OS 12.6 and Firefox 110, auto updating. We dislike relentless whiz-bang changes, and need just email, simple games, and basic browsing on the older Mac; email, moderate browsing, flight simulation, and some streaming on the newer. In plain English, please, what are pro and con of switching it to ESR?

I have been trying to identify ongoing problems using Firefox (78.15.0esr (64bit)) on a Mac (using OS10.11.6) wiht Ancestry.com.

Most of the system works fine , except for their internal mail system and graphics.

When I copied some of the text produced (i.e. graphics) into BBEdit, I was able to isolate and produce a graphics output, so I am stumped.

When I spent hours trying to interact with Ancestry, all they do is to send links to FAQ (the same one form different issues) indicating that their 'Tech Support' is less than basic. they of course indicate that Firefox is the issue, but i don't believe this is the case.

I have used another Mac computer to try to access with no luck (changed settings on Firefox e.g. extensions).

Looking for a way to problem solve etc to rule out issues.

BTW Ancestry recommends the use of Firefox as the browser of choice.

Hello! I have Firefox, version 78.15.0 installed on my mac OSX 10.11.6. A few days ago I lost the ability to use messenger in FaceBook. I cannot send or receive messages from others. When I click on messages, nothing happens. This happened suddenly. Otherwise, Firefox works as normal on my older mac. Can you give me a hint as to what is causing this? been spending the day updating passwords and i finally had to update my firefox account password, sadly i had lost the original password so i had to fully reset it. Idk if that contributed to the issue at all but ill mention it just in case this is a known problem. now im trying to sign back in and it just keeps getting stuck loading saying "working" some other things, I use waterfox as my laptop runs macOS 10.11.16, so I'm also worried that this is not a bug but a "feature" intended to push users to update their browsers. as i type this its been "working" on signing me in for about 5 minutes and i doubt its doing anything but spinning that wheel around for show. i was able to sign back in on my phone, any help?

I am running 78.15.0esr on my macbook pro and when I go to Password manager and pull down the menu under the 3 dots I do not have the option of EXPORT LOGINS... (SEE ATTACHED IMAGE) How can I export my login for 1Password since I do not have the option to do so. I can see my passwords and individually see my passwords but cannot export. Since I have 588 passwords I need to be able to create a cvs file.

I didn't even realize you discontinued this security product. So it is synced across all my devices, and I want it GONE. I have old software on a Mac and it is embedded in my Firefox browser version 78.15.0esr (64-bit) I synced a phone and iPad. I updated to a new mac and then discovered Lockwise has been discontinued. Yes I was using it since '21 without knowing it was no longer supported.

I want it gone from everywhere. I manually screen-shot EVERY SINGLE PASSWORD, because I could see no way to export them all. I think that a password manager who has been discontinued for any reason really has an obligation to loudly inform users. Seems like a horrid security risk not to.

Bottom line: How do I delete all the data across the devices I so lovingly added the Mozilla family to? I'm really hoping it's not by going to each one and selecting REMOVE. PLEASE and thank you.

Two questions regarding FireFox ESR for legacy macOS:

Is there any plan to make Yelp compatible with FireFox ESR? It hasn't worked correctly for a couple of years…

With the conversion from Intel to Apple Silicone macs, any idea how much longer will FireFox ESR support the Intel platform?

For the past several weeks when I click on Messenger from the Facebook web page I get a blank page with the Facebook header. Same if I click the little shortcut button (brings up a blank box). I've cleared all cookies and cache but no change. I do not have this problem with Safari so I believe it is a Firefox issue and not a Facebook issue.

HI. Firefox seems to be logging me out of all my sites when I turn off my desktop. In some cases, it won't even let me access certain login screens. I've already followed instructions about resetting cookie/login/search history settings, etc, but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Any ideas/advice?

Hello, For me, there is no substitute for browsing with Firefox. But for some time now I've been getting notices that I'm not using the current browser version, for example in my email program and the banking application. However, Firefox info in the menu says that I am using the current version and there are no updates available. Here is the Firefox version shown to me: 78.15.0esr (64-bit) I work with an iMac of the following version: iMac (21.5 inch, from 2010) - OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 (15G22010); - Processor: 3.06GHz Intel Core i3; - Memory: 4GB 1333MHz DDR3; - Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB Maybe my computer is too old for the latest version, but why does Firefox Info show me that the browser is up to date and there are no updates?
