I've been using alt+a to open new tabs in a multi account container for a long time. Recently that shortcut stopped working possibly with the update to v148 as indicated in this reddit thread.

alt+a is not listed as a shortcut in about:keyboard or in about:addons > manage extension shortcuts or in my ubuntu shortcuts nor in any software I can think of thats running. I've disabled all my add-ons except multi account containers to no avail. I can change the shortcut to another and it works fine.

Why would just that shortcut stop working? What else can I do to diagnose the problem?

I get why the domain is highlighted, and it's good! But the rest of the URL can be hard to read, especially with dark themes (see screenshot, taken of this page's URL bar, using the default Dark theme). I have tried to find a dark theme with better contrast, but haven't had any success.

Is there a setting that I can change to set the font colors or contrast between them?

I noted, that credit cards autofill works, but on ~50% of websites it fails. I can see the autofill dropdown, but if I select any card, no fields are filled. Manual filling works. One of examples: https://ipn.paymentus.com, but there are many. Again, on some websites it works just fine.

Another issue - I cannot edit cards. Settings->Payment methods->Manage, then select a card, press "Edit" and nothing happens.

Context: version 148.0 (64-bit), Canonical snap build (crap, I cannot DISABLE snap build and totally switch to deb!!!)

P.S. I really miss feature to add "aliases" for cards...

I want to upload the current version of Firefox. However, the system Administrator (who is me) will mnot allow me to do so. How do I change settings to allow for the upload.

There seems to be no possible way to change the shortcut for peeking at the tabs in the sidebar (when sidebar revamp is enabled) from the about:keyboard UI. I have so far managed to modify the shortcut through intercepting function calls.

What I have done: 1. Read through the JS source code for about:keyboard which says the shortcut ID is `toggleSidebarKb` 2. Added hooks to intercept `RPMSendQuery` calls 3. Modified the shortcut through devtools open on the about:keyboard page with the following snippet

The way I am doing it is definitely a hack. I am not sure if I am missing something. Although the shortcuts for bookmarks, history, and GenAI chat sidebar are present, there seems to be no entry to change the sidebar toggle shortcut itself. I'd love to work on this but I haven't been able to mach bootstrap on NixOS.

Firefox 148 Xubuntu 24.04.4

When accessing Google Docs, I can right-click and successfully Cut and Copy from the pop-up menu, but when I attempt to right-click paste, Docs pops up the message shown in the attached image. Ctrl-V works, but clearly Google Docs understands what is being requested and simply will not perform the operation, which is very annoying. Is there any way to get Google Docs to perform the mouse-based paste?

Hi! I have a lot of tabs synced in the mozilla account on a device that I have not connected for a while (forgot it at a place far away). Recently I needed to open some of the tabs and while the device was shown in the account the tabs were not accessible. Isn't that one of the major points of using the sync, to be able to see things between the devices??? My reaction - WTF? It's like the perfect lie - hey look we have your device here.... but it is actually just the name. I am so frustrated about this.... why don't you even talk about this? Why is there no warning that my data is going away??? Why is this decision to delete the synced tabs (not the device but only its tabs) from the account happening without any notice, at a time randomly decided by someone? How is that making sense? Why can't the user be informed and make a decision? I think that's one of the reasons why you lose and lose and lose market share, because you don't care anymore about your users, you think all are idiots and you can make decisions for them and restrict their abilities to manage their experience. I know it is free software but it's getting worse until it will become absolutely irrelevant, please stop smoking whatever you're smoking and make more sense with your decisions to add/remove features and alter functionality. Just one more example of another senseless decision - the time options when I want to clear the history. Just 1/2/4h, since 12am and everything.... I am trying but there's no logic in choosing these intervals and restricting the user to only those.... Another one.... the extensions... it's like a dumb game of hide-and-seek to find their options and manage them or to put their icon on the toolbar or somewhere handy and visible so it can be used as it is supposed to be used.... does not make any sense! Ah yeah and the very very old complaint: WHY did you remove the status bar? Lots of info can be added there and it was VERY useful. This was one of the big "WTF is happening with Firefox?" moments.... only downhill from there. I will probably give up on Firefox if it doesn't come back to actually making sense. Not all users are idiots, give them back the power to use your (still good) software in the way they want, stop taking away features and options. And don't forget the power users, take their options away and they will go away.

Using firefox 148, when I select the "CIRA Canadian shield" DNS over HTTPS option it does not work. If I select the other 2 options Cloudflare or NextDNS those options work.

What is the problem with DOH for CIRA option ?

If I open a tab to a specific google sheet I use it won't let me use the split view option (it's greyed out)

I would like to be able to split view the sheet so I can keep an eye on the running totals while I am entering data elsewhere on the sheet.

Split View is enabled and works on other tabs

Firefox Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Issue

• Problem: PiP window loses "Always on Top" focus or vanishes when switching workspaces/tasks.
• Config Changes: Set 'focusmanager.testmode' to true and 'media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-flips-visibility-on-focus-change' to false.
• Window Settings: Focus set to "Click" via GNOME Tweaks/Settings.
• Environment Test: Tested launching via 'MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0' to bypass Wayland focus logic.

Software & Tools

• Tweaks: Installed for font hinting (Slight) and window behavior management.

I use the current version of Firefox on Ubuntu 22.04 Linux. When I scroll down past the individual bookmarks at the end of the menu, the folder names start repeating, along with the bookmarks inside them. I have three or four sets of bookmarks and would like to have only one. How can I delete all the bookmark folders below a certain point? By the way, when I install a new, different version of the operating system and sign in Sync restores all the bookmarks.

Recently I have a problem with toolbar and in the Firefox browser. Usually I have 3 display (display from laptop and two monitors). When I use Firefox browser on the main display the toolbar very often is not working correctly.

Mainly the problem is with the folders inside the toolbar, so when I hover any folder, the bookmarks saved in that folder don't appear or appear for just one/two sec, then they disappear.

The second problem is when I have the firefox open on the second display (or on the laptop display) and I moved any tab (only the tab, not entire Firefox application), then my toolbar shows only the first bookmark that is saved on my list.

In attachments I added two ss (one is with my normal view on toolbar, and the second one is with the only first bookmark)

I used to have the email shortcut with protonmail ekb155@pm.me When I try to login to move my shortcuts to Linux, it no longer lets me login without validation to that email. The suffix... pm.me is shortcut for protonmail. When I downgraded i kept my main login, kbarnsda@protonmail.com My current address is kbarnsda@gmail.com

Is it possible to free up this snag, I have always used Mozilla since the beginning of time. I dont want to switch t o Brave which did allow me to change emails.

I set up firefox using my customised user.js, and I have been able to configure everything just as I want except for "Search Shortcuts".

Are there Firefox "preferences" (in the about:config "preferences" database) for the 10 or so "alternative search engine" entries (shown in about:preferences#search)? If not, is there any programmatic way that I can edit these "alternative search engine" entries so that I don't have to manually disable and/or remove them every time I install Firefox on a new machine?

Listen I have a profile in another partition in Mint and want to transfer my Bookmarks/profile etc to my new 22.3 install but far too complicated. I also have a previous Key which I no longer wish to use as it has deleted all 20 years worth of messages. Under settings / Data collection.... everything in Data Collection is turned on... I had turned it all off.

So Firefox overwrote my settings with an update I guess - nobody else has access to my PC or Mobile and I certainly didn't do it. They turned on Send technical and integration data, turned on Studies, turned on Daily Usage Ping, turned on crash reports.

Its pretty disappointing - this is the sort of stuff MS or Apple do. It breaks trust. If they are changing this then what else do they change that I cannot see. I suppose I need to see about a different browser.
