In the "Cookies" Storage Type in Storage Inspector (Shift+F9):

Name Value ... ... csrftoken AB...c sessionid XY...z ... ...

However, in Web Console (Ctrl+Shift+K), if I execute console.log(document.cookie), the only thing I get is "csrftoken=AB...c". "sessionid=XY...z" is missing.

How can I get the sessionid of the cookie in Web Console?

I can't print from Firefox to printer anymore. Printing to PDF then use PDF viewer to printer works fine though.

After attempt to print browser shows no error, but nothing gets printed and cups shows

> EPSON_WP-4525_usb-791 Unknown Withheld 19k Unknown "Filter failed"

I see this in cups logs:

> $ journalctl -u cups -e > ... > cupsd[326540]: PID 328154 (/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-201113w/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter) stopped with status 127 (File too large) > ...

In the past this has worked for me but I'm not sure when exactly it stopped working. I'm not printing very often and usually print from other programs as Firefox often messes-up the pages. Other browsers print usually better but I guess this is for another topic.

Hello I'm using firefox 86.0.1 in Manjaro-Linux I have activated https only mode in security settings. Most sites are ok, but some sites are available in http and https mode. Maybe I have accessed them in the past with http when the sites did not support https.

I'm looking for an option to disable http access if https is available. Looking in the help and many sites I found that it should be possible to deactivate http access per site (see screenshot firefox-help) But if I click on the "lock" icon. I get a complete different window. No option to enable/disable access.

Hello,

I have a Raspberry PI with 4GB of memory and I listen to my radio station Jazzfm.com all day. The problem with Firefox is that once in a while the stream just stops for 10-30 seconds and resumes. I never encounter this problem with Chrome. I tried disabling Performance acceleration - it doesn't help. Sometimes the stream works for hours and then it stops and resumes a couple of times.

I usually have one tab open with the radio stream, others tabs with news, etc. How can I fix this problem?

As I say, Chrome - never an issue, I can stream all day with any interruptions and it's not my broadband, as I am on a Superfast fibre. Does this have something to do with Firefox prioritizing the other tabs? Can I somehow monitor this by launching Firefox from the console to grab any errors?

Thanks, Richard

Reading the terms of cloud service made me think deeper.

And my question is, how complex is the mozilla/cloud code and how properly the code is tested and discussed, and how much is the probability of flaw lowered (by any directives, or whatever). Or maybe better question, if there is a consensus, that the security things are well solved and the risk potential is exclusively on the side of the end user.

Thank you very much in advance. Pavel

Hi all,

Machine under debian testing, updated today.

I have a strange behavior from my firefox, some websites, and only a few, can't load correctly. IE with linkedin, the page is displayed without CSS and almost no content. In the firefox console I have

Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://static-exp1.licdn.com/sc/h/bpob6bbc8gauqn4cct96xaqpf”. www.linkedin.com:1932:1
Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://static-exp1.licdn.com/sc/h/efncoxjdl37tofw662sg013tp”.

And the fact, when I try loading one of those addresses, I have a "Server not found".

Everything is working fine under chrome or even Tor (which is in the end a modified firefox).

   dig static-exp1.licdn.com

is returning correct entries my DNS configuration is correct (tried with multiple servers) I have nothing in my host file and no firewall/security rules/softwares in place

This problem occurs with firefox ESR installed from debian repositories and firefox downloaded from mozilla website. No add-ons installed.

I already tried removing my whole firefox config/profile and fresh reinstall without any add-ons

Tried also to disable DNS prefetch and IPV6 in firefox config.

Timezone date/time is configured correctly and sync with NTP

Thanks if you have any tips to sort this out.

EDIT 1: When activating DNS over HTTPS in config, everything works fine then. But then why this behavior only with a few addresses?

I use Ubuntu 20.10 on my PC. I use Firefox as my daily browser. There is a bug most probably because of which the title text (the tooltip) which appears upon hovering the mouse pointer over some page element remains visible even when I switch applications. It is removed only when I take my mouse pointer again on that tooltip. At that moment it disappears. Otherwise, it remains as it is even though it is a different application.

Hi,

I've created a apparmor profile for firefox but I don't know whether to deny or allow the capabilities CAP_SYS_ADMIN, CAP_SYS_CHROOT and CAP_SYS_PTRACE. I've tried both ways, denying and allowing them, and firefox seems to work properly without allowing these capabilities. So here's the question: Which features of firefox actually need these capabilities? All of them are pretty powerful in the hands of a malicious program.

Long story short, I have gaps in my history in Firefox. I'm on the latest stable desktop version, but this happens both on Linux (Ubuntu 20.04) and Windows 10.

I can't really pin down what causes this, it seems totally random. Every now and then, I'll be browsing, close the browser, realize I need to do something on a page I was recently on, I relaunch, press "ctr+h", go to the 'Today' drop down tab, and the most recent entry is multiple hours old, in some cases it's not even from the same day. The pages I was just on are nowhere to be found.

I would guess it's just late to update the history, but then there are times where I'll go through my history from a few days ago looking for a specific page I know I visited, and I'm able to find some but not all. Again, it just seems like there are random gaps in my history.

Firefox Dev Ed is a great browser for web development and tweaking CSS. But sadly it does not always show default property values.

A classic example of this is the
element's default padding-left property. This apparently is set at 40px automatically unless overridden by the web designer. I think that ALL inherited or default properties of elements ought to be clearly shown in the inspect tool's styling listings. You could spend hours maddeningly trying to find the cause of some of these offsets to what you expected to display. The curious thing is that some inherited or default property values are shown on the inspect tool - which leads us to assume that what is seen on inspect is all that there is . . . This change should not be too difficult to implement. And it would be a great thing to have when searching down unexpected behaviour in webpage displays.

I am attempting to change my secondary email address with the intent to make my new email the primary email. I have removed the old secondary email, but when I try to add the email address that I want. I get an error message saying that the email already exists. I note that in the Firefox account dialog the secondary email address is blank.

I did sign up for Firefox VPN using the email address that I'd like to use and so that's a possible reason. I just don't know how to fix it. Note; I'm no longer planning to use Firefox VPN. I wonder if perhaps there's a way to cancel/delete that account.

I'm working on an addon to automate taking screenshots of lecture slides. I'm using a canvas object to capture and save the file blobs and JSZip to zip everything together and download. But JSZip keeps throuhing the `unsupported file type` error. Even though blobs are supported.

Here's the relevant code I'm using Github File

I've submitted an issue to the maintainer which has some more debugging info. The script in the addon_context has some very quantum behaviour and changes output every time I console.log Github Issue

I'm wondering if there might be a problem on my end, with the way I'm generating and processing the blobs. The same code works in chromium based browser, I'm confused as to what Firefox does differently. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, the problem with Firefox is that it loads the pages too slow, other browsers such as Chrome or Opera are working correctly. At first everything was fine but suddenly Firefox started to take forever to load the pages. I have completely uninstalled Firefox and installed it again but the problem persists. I thought it was a problem with some extension (I only use AdBlocker and HttpsEverywhere) but restarting it in safe mode the problem persists. I also have to mention that the Ubuntu installation is recent. What could be the problem?. I am using Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS.
