So, interesting opportunity to learn something new! ;) What is wrong: buffering. At first I thought I have problems with Flash alone, but this isn't true. Any video [be it on Youtube or Twitch, Flash player or HTML5 player, doesn't matter] randomly will stop. I will see the buffer "icon" and... nothing happens. Ever. I can leave it for as long as I want, it will not budge. On Twitch.tv it's a bit different, it will pause the stream for a solid minute and then "restart" itself.

Cleared cache, session files, updated Flash, used Ccleaner as well. Don't want to go through creating a new profile yet (a bit of a hassle), trying to figure out what might be causing the issue. As I said, it's very random, sometimes happens in short video on Youtube, sometimes I can watch long videos without much problem. And no, my internet is not the issue, double checked on that.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Been using Firefox for years and refuse to switch to Chrome, but it gets kinda frustrating atm and im leaning towards Chrome lol...

If my firefox version is open longer then 24 hours, and there is a flash item in it, it will eat resources till my computer almost dies. Its open for +24 hours now. And Firefox.exe eats 1,2GB memory and 11% cpu

Firefox is open 2x with 20 tabs? I dont really care about the memory or cpu usage, but i do care about the. For instance, if its open longer then a few hours and i watched some flash stuff, i open a small youtube clip on the left, and scroll on facebook on the right screen the small clip is all stuttering etc.. and if that gets as bad, Scripts will be stopped by firefox, Flash does exactly the same.

So if i let my pc run if i go to work and come back with 10 tabs open, the browser is just laggy and not ok to work with. Tho better hardware does "solve" it, but thats a 8 hours ++ kinda.

My personal pc at home: i3 4310 with 8GB memory and a SSD. Win7 At work: i5 2500k 8GB and a SSD. Win7

Im kinda "home" to computers, as i work daily with them / solve problems with them bla bla..

It just seems to get more regulair with the trouble with Flash and Firefox. Tho i love firefox.. :( This is a problem getting bigger every quarter of a year for the last 3 years.

If i close firefox and restart its okay again for a few hours.. and then its crashing scripts and flash again, Im not putting this on Firefox, but i wanna know where this is going wrong. Ive got the same problem everywhere, i tried full resets defaults. I scanned my PC for spyware with MBAM, Combofix, SuperAntiSpyware.. And i even reinstalled my complete Windows installation at work a few weeks ago because of it.

Hope this is enough information..

Thank u.

Have trouble when navigating facebook. Mozilla hangs for 5 to 6 seconds, freezing every mozilla tab or window that is open and sometimes crashes.

On facebook I get the "script is taking too long" message but I suspect that it has something to do with flash cause from time to time I get the plugin container failed related to flash and some other weird behaviour with flash (see below)

Things I tried: - Disable every plugin. - Running safe mode - Refresh Firefox - Disable hardware accelleration on the flash plugin - Disable safe mode for Flash plugin

- Completely uninstal flash according to this procedure: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

I am running a recently freshly instaled win 8.1 on a 12GB RAM i7 quad processor.

The thing that makes me suspect is that according to this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

When I right click the flash logo for that procedure, Mozilla freezes, nothing gets displayed and some seconds later I get a "Shockwave Flash might be busy... stop plugin..." message

This is very annoying and I want to use Firefox but have been forced to chrome lately cause I cannot find this problem.

Please, any help is appreciated.

Here are the latest crash reports: 659c09f3-507d-405f-9cd0-1f0c9a547a19 09ccdcbd-2de6-402b-8cb0-634bb8603bdb 2d10bc5d-3073-4458-9a95-209fe02f61da d513670f-868d-4eea-94d7-4e1356e64d15 ab5ebd92-2222-46e9-bb58-6e42c866f6aa ff05371d-73ac-414c-90d6-47fa2b86843f bp-86a63769-b972-472f-a5de-f74a82150211 bp-b9c1a916-0d26-443e-ade4-1c6a72150211 01e304b4-fd28-475e-9f8b-d8e87f78b366 73332da1-7361-4b6e-a0be-92f1f4e81d84 4bfbbf4c-7b4c-4a32-ace6-a782bc7f2f1c 095b8fc3-47bc-454d-a1be-85f418e0205d cbf2cbc3-c304-4f7b-beb1-ed6f59dd693e b12aeae2-1ceb-406b-a869-2522c477f60d e7894ad7-1bf8-4df6-a87d-5a7055fd475f

Since the latest update to version 35, many sites that use javascript to manipulate images tend to crash firefox and make either the guilty tab or all of firefox close suddenly. (Firefox on Debian 7 Wheezy Linux, all updates current). I use firefox daily for web development and this regression bug is VERY annoying for my workflow. I understand you cannot take every situation into account. I do not have the time to investigate what has made Firefox less stable. I really hope you can fix this performance problem. If I can do anything concrete to help besides jumping into the code, let me know.

MP4 video problem in Firefox 35.0.1

Hi Everyone,

I see that problems with MP4 playback are fairly common but I couldn't find a solution to my problem in any of the several questions and answers I've reviewed.

When I comment out the OGG code at http://www.deiryassin.org/video.html I cannot get the MP4 file to play. The OGG file play back in Firefox is just fine. Someone else who uses the latest version of Safari for the Mac OS was not able to get reliable MP4 playback, either. Per w3schools.com, MP4 is a supported fiie type in both Safari and Firefox.

I don't know how to embed HTML in this question so please see the attached PNG file for the code I used for testing MP4 playback. The MP4 file location is correct and the file is not corrupted, it plays fine when I download it.

When I try to play it in Firefox the browser console/error log says: "Specified 'type' attribute of 'video/mp4' is not supported. Load of media resource /media/deiryassinremembered.mp4 failed." The browser displays: "No video with supported format and MIME type found".

Here are the codecs for the file: Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)

The following lines are in my .htaccess:

AddType video/mp4 mp4 m4v AddType audio/mp4 m4a

I've re-enabled the OGG source for visitors to the site. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

In the past week or so, I've been having daily crashes with Firefox 35.0.1 after not having them, at all, for months. It doesn't happen on any particular sight, but it seems to involve how this version renders graphics. Sometimes, I'll be viewing a page and as a scroll down parts of the page black out and/or the graphics at the top repeat unto the bottom of the page as a scroll. Often, I just close out the page and then go back, but that doesn't always fix it. Eventually, the whole page crashes and I get an error asking me if I want to close out of plugin container afte the crash. This has happened while scroll down Flickr and on some newspapers I read online.

Is anyone else having this problem? It seems as if this is a problem with Firefox and not my computer. I've changed nothing on my system, recently, that'd explain this. I have no viruses or malware on my computer. All my plugins are up to date, and I even uninstalled and reinstalled Flash hoping that that would help. Could it be some of the add-ons I have active?

I inquired about this three weeks ago but failed to get an answer. Thought I'd try again because it's really annoying.

I'm at a loss here. When I play a video, doesn't matter what site, the video acts really strangely. I'll put it this way. If the video was an album on a turntable, the DJ would be scratchin it. That's what it looks like to me. Audio is fine but video is very annoying and unwatchable.

New info: Someone mentioned I have multiple plugins for videos but didn't reply when I asked which ones they are. I'm not very computer savvy but I'm slowly learning. It mostly occurs on YouTube but happens on other sites as well. It started maybe a month ago. Any and all help is very greatly appreciated as I don't want to leave Firefox.

When I play any type of media such as a you tube song, or media from a news source, it plays very badly skipping, running slow, or even hanging the browser. When I run any media on Internet Explorer it runs perfect so I have to go to IE if I want to hear something perfectly. So far I have tried every suggestion and nothing works. Does anyone know how to fix it. BTW...I do have an IE tab set up in Firefox and if I run something in that tab it usually plays ok but not always. I hate to keep switching browsers just to hear something that will play right and I am running the latest Firefox update

Suddenly I am finding that when playing Youtube videos within Firefox I get a message saying the Adobe flash plugin has crashed.

Everything was fine yesterday although I noticed that it is when I am playing lower resolution and poor quality videos on Youtube.

I have the latest version of Firefox on a Mac Retina and have disabled the hardware acceleration but still the problem occurs.

I have also rebooted my Mac several times as well as closed and opened Firefox each time I make a change. I have also uninstalled flash and reinstalled but to no avail.

As I said above this appears to crash when playing older lower quality videos. Newer, higher resolution videos seem OK.

I have tried playing the videos causing the issue in Safari and they play fine. It just seems to be Firefox.

Anyone else experienced this and can provide an answer to resolve?

Thanks for your help.

I have the latest version. I have started in Safe Mode. I refreshed Firefox. I have unchecked the USE HARDWARE ACCELERATION WHEN AVAILABLE box in preferences, and in the little Flash box thing.

Nothing has worked. Is there something I have overlooked?

Thank you
