I want to be able to create a java script function that allows me to target certain class names on specific websites. I want to make a custom button to initialize the function in the Mozilla toolbar. Similar to Adblock but as a toggle button so I can turn it on when i feel like it.

I just upgraded to Version 36, and now the Brief add-on (feed reader) has lost some functionality. Specifically, the list of all feeds is displayed, but when I click on an individual feed or a folder (e.g., "Computer") to limit the display, the display doesn't change to reflect my choice. Before Version 36, I could bring up a limited view, but now I can't. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Brief, but there was no change in the behavior. (I am running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo G700 laptop, if that is relevant.) I checked out the change list for the upcoming Version 37, but that doesn't help me--I'm not the developer, and I'm working with Version 36. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this from the user end? Thanks.

I've allowed Firefox Hello download a couple of days ago. dwhelper no longer works. I've tested the extensions. As I only have two, dwhelper and lightbeam, this was easy to do.

I use dwhelper a lot. I use online videos from many sources for my physics and astronomy teaching needs.

This is a problem associated with many video sites, not only youtube.

I've deleted dwhelper and reinstalled it. Started and stopped Firefox. Restarted my macbook pro as well.

Program seems to work up to and including window specifying location to place downloading file.

Why is Firefox 36 on Windows receiving connections from DNS servers? Option network.dns.get-ttl

Subsequent to updating to Firefox 36, my firewall has been inundating me with requests to allow external connections from the Internet to my browser. Looking into this in more detail, Comodo Firewall is indicating that external Internet sites are trying to connect to Firefox, from port 53 to an arbitrary port on my machine.

If I disable the new FF36 option network.dns.get-ttl, this stops. I can't find any documentation or help on this option.

Why is Firefox doing this? Is Comodo incorrect when it labels this as an external attempt to connect? (It's normally been extremely good at differentiating between inbound & outbound traffic). I'm assuming that Firefox is trying to determine TTL for DNS caching, but it doesn't make sense why DNS servers are then trying to connect back to me.

I'm loathe to create a firewall rule that states arbitrary connections from the Internet to my machine are OK as long as they originated on port 53, so advice on how to manage whatever this new feature is securely would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi,

I'm asking this question again as I may not have explained the problem correctly in my earlier question related to the same topic.

I have installed OneTab to my Firefox and it doesn’t show up in the toolbars. It is showing as 'Enabled' in the Extensions list and in 'Additional Tools and Features' it shows without an icon but with the title that says ‘Send tabs to ‘OneTab’. On hovering, this area seems to be active. However, unlike other icons there, I am unable to drag and drop this to the toolbar.

I have already tried the following:

1. Disabled all other extensions but Onetab and restarted Firefox. 2. Removed all other extensions but OneTab and and restarted Firefox. 3. Removed all extensions including OneTab and re-installed just OneTab after restarting Firefox. 4. I removed Firfox and re-installed it and re-installed just OneTab.

None of these steps helped me. Please advice on how to solve this.

Thanks

I cannot customize anything but the Bookmark Bar, and none of those customizations make any sense. I cannot add a Home icon or New Tab icon in front of the address box--I used these all the time and do not want to do without them.

I was not able to add my favorite search engine by following the directions on the Help page.

Is there a way to downgrade back to my last version of Firefox with all my settings intact?

The rest is /rant.

I know I have the flu and am a bit cranky, but putting a button there that says 'Refresh Firefox' (when you should have said "Install new Firefox with weird settings without existing features") was not very clear. I thought it was just a check to see if all the parts of Firefox were present and uncorrupted. That's what refresh means.

Also, being greeted by "Firefox Certificate Store Hotfix nnnnnnnnnn.n (disabled)" without any means of enabling it was problematic at best. Kind of like having found out a gorilla packed your parachute. After considerable time searching it seems that it doesn't work with 36? Why didn't it just say that? Security features mysteriously disabled is suspicious, as in something malware would do.

You guys and gals are great, but give a guy warning. Thanks for Firefox.

I stopped using Firefox back in 2009 because of crashing issues, but decided to give it another try. I have added ad block plus, It has stopped working. I need to remove it, but I can't find anything about how to remove it. I can only find things about how to add it or disable it. I also would like to know why Firefox is so slow, when it used to be lightning fast.

I'm seriously thinking about not using Firefox anymore because its way so slow and very hard to work with, the developers have hidden most all the settings, that used to be right there at hand. There are a lot of webpages that do not display right. and flash makes Firefox even slower. Firefox also uses a lot of my CPU and memory. when i start Firefox my CPU jumps up to around 68% and stays there some times going higher. A browser shouldn't do this I have an AMD FX9590 8 core CUP running at 4.8 GHZ with a 5.0 Ghz boost. if i had a dual core or even a quad core Firefox would be maxing out the CPU.

I need to know how to remove Ad Block Plus from Firefox. Not disable it, but completely remove it from Firefox.

Thank You
