Hello, The last recent update gave me 13.0.1. I'm on Win7, 64-bit, fully updated. Since the update, when I scroll a page, the text fades and blurs. It's incredibly annoying!

Is there anything I can do to stop this behavior?

Please let me know if you need any further info about my system.

Edit (few minutes later) I have more info already. It does not happen as badly when using the scrollbars. It only happens slightly with the scrollbars. It's only happening seriously when I use my mouse's scroll feature. My mouse is a Cirque Smart Cat Pro, which is an external, touchpad mouse. (It's functioning perfectly, and still fairly new.)

In my experience, this touchpad mouse (which I LOVE) does not behave exactly like a traditional mouse does. The difference I've noticed is with zooming, and only in certain programs. I don't notice this difference with Firefox. But just to let you know that there are some differences from the traditional mouse, as far as performance.

I'll post more info as I learn it :-)

Thanks for your help

So for a while now, certain websites have been showing up as pretty much gibberish. Just a series of thoes black diamond-question mark things. I thought it was an encoding problem, but I couldn't seem to fix it, so I just used chrome for the odd website I needed. Anyway, now It's started appearing in more and more websites, and now finally it's appearing when I try to log into my google account, making accessing my Email impossible (on firefox). Here's a screenshot.

I still think it's an encoding issue, but my infernal fiddeling doesn't seem to be changing anything at all.

Any help would be great. I'm not too fond of the idea of moving over to Chrome.

I have a problem with every login page that I go to in Firefox. On each on the input:textfieldlogin box shows up as a very small box, only 1-2 millimeters square. I can input text; however, I cannot see anything that I type. However, if I run as Administrator, all works normally, and these boxes appear as they do in other browsers. I can set the program to always run as Administrator; however, with each new Firefox update, this setting is kicked off, and so we are back to the same problem. I need a permanent solution, if one is available.

I can't change the volume on flash-required sites like Youtube, Armour Games, Happy Wheels etc.

I have to switch tabs and go back again to adjust the volume. When I click on the video/game again, it prohibits me from changing the volume again.

On Youtube I can use the volume slider, but this sometimes isn't enough. I'm constantly changing the volume because videos/games have varied sounds, so not being able to change it is very annoying.

I cannot access some sites, mainly from what i have noticed its 'https' such as youtube login page also google chrome download page, it did appear on google search engine but that seems to be working now.

It appears as random letters and black diamonds. I have tried clearing all history, cache, flushing my dns, changing my character encoding, reinstalling the browser but none seem to help. I can login fine using IE so it seems firefox related.

When I open a new tab, for a couple of miliseconds before going to my homepage, i can see various sites i recently visited in a table-list like a recent visits table. Am i being tracked by something? Did I catch a trojan ? I am also running no-script add-on on my Mozilla for extra protection. It's not disturbing my browsing experience but I do not wish to be tracked in that way. For example, when I tried loading it today, I could see photos of friends I saw on facebook, and info about an e-bay purchase i wanted to make.

[SOLVED] Since updating to Java 1.6.0_33 on my MacBook running OSX 10.6.8, websites say Java not installed in Firefox, but works in Chrome

I work for User Testing, which uses a Java-based screen recorder to make videos of people using commercial websites and offering spoken feedback on the site. Since installing the Java 1.6.0_33 update for Snow Leopard on my MacBook, the User Testing screen recorder does not recognize that Java is installed, and won't work.

If I switch to Chrome, all works smoothly. I have the latest version of Firefox, and have installed the latest updates. I have opened Java Preferences in my Utilities, and made sure that the checkbox "Enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications" is checked. I have cleared the cache and cookies in Firefox. The problem still persists.

User Testing says no other Mac users have reported the problem, and so they cannot help me. I rely on a Firefox add-on that is not available for Chrome to notify me of new User Testing jobs (which are normally claimed in seconds), so it is not practical for me to simply switch to Chrome or another browser.

Interestingly, when checking my plugins in order to fill out the information required below in this help request, I was sent to a Firefox page that says "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please upgrade to the latest version."

When I click the link, it says that Apple supplies its own version of Java, which of course I have already installed. Guess this is the root of the problem, but how do I fix it?

EDITED TO ADD SOLUTION:

After even more Googling, I eventually stumbled on the solution. In the Firefox menu, I chose Help>Troubleshooting Information, and clicked "Show in Finder" under Application Basics. I then quit Firefox, clicked on the Profile folder, deleted the file "pluginreg.dat", and restarted Firefox. Java now shows up among my plugins, and is enabled by default. The failure of pluginreg.dat to update automatically was supposed to be an old Firefox problem that has been solved, but apparently that is not always the case.

Thank you to everyone who answered.
