When I have Firefox minimized (with several tabs) and I click on its icon in the taskbar, FF does not immediately open, but little icons for each of the FF tabs show and I have to choose one of the tabs before FF fully opens. This is very annoying. If the program were to fully open, the one tab I was recently using would open and I could continue with my work. Is there any way to make FF fully open when I click on the FF icon in the taskbar? I am using FF 118.0 (64 bit) in Windows 11. Thanks for your help. Jerry

PS: the icon below shows what happens when I am clicking the FF icon and shows the two tabs open in FF.

For the past few days, the YouTube website has behaving unusually in Firefox. The volume and play/pause controls don't work. The picture in picture mode does not work. And most importantly, the search bar is broken. Whenever I type something and click the search button or press enter, the value entered disappears and I have to type it all again, only that this process goes on for infinite number of times and so, I can't even search for anything on YouTube.

Out of the blue, I can no longer download files using the download arrow. I used to get the prompt asking where to download the files but now don't get anything. I'll get a zip.part file on my desktop, where I have my downloads saved, but that's it. I've updated Firefox, restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled and nothing works.

Apparent duplicate password manager

I use Firefox and ESET Antivirus on Windows 10 I am using the Firefox password manager with a Primary Password. When I open a window to a bank or other sensitive site ESET Antivirus Banking and Payment Protection automatically opens a new Protected window. The password manager then fills in the login details for the site or offers a choice from a listbox if I have more than one login for that site without me having to provide a password for the password manager. Clicking on "View Saved Logins" from the listbox opens the password manager Search Logins window also without me having to enter a Primary Password. I can now view Usernames AND Passwords without having to enter any Primary Password. This appears to be an out of date copy of the passwords in a unprotected file since it is missing a few recently created entries. When using an standard Firefox browser window everything seems to work as expected with the Primary Password being required to activate the Pasword Manager and the recently created entries are present. One other point which may be relevant is that when viewing the same username/password in both the valid and the duplicate versions the window addresses are identical. This suggests to me that the Password Manager keeps the username/password data and a list of that data as separate enties and that what I have is actually one set of data with two seperate lists of the data. This makes me nervous about trying to delete anything from the unprotected list in case I am deleting the original data. This state of affairs may have come about when I was setting up Firefox Sync and inadvertantly Sync-ed Password Manager with Primary Password turned off. I have since turned off Sync but with no effect on th problem. Is there any way of deleting this apparent additional password list? The alternative seems to be to just uninstall Firefox and ESET Antivirus and re-install and hope that all the data is cleared out in the process and the re-import a password file.

There is a serious problem here! I have the latest Firefox browser for Windows installed: 118.0 (64-bit). Under Settings, I have the box checked that says: Open previous windows and tabs.

It isn't working. All my tabs keep getting wiped out. I am a developer. I primarily use Firefox because it is the only browser that knows how to display bookmarks in a column. I have many tabs open at one time. I need to pick up where I left off. Now this is completely unusable. Can someone get this back to normal operation?

Please!!

Every time Firefox updates, a Firefox shortcut is added to my desktop. In delete it because I already have a shortcut for it in the taskbar. How can I stop this from happening? I have tried turning off automatic updates and manually updating the browser and it still creates a shortcut. It's been happening for over a year and I am close to uninstalling Firefox completely and switching browsers.

Hello!

I chose to switch to firefox recently so I haven't figured out how to fix this. Every time I turn my computer on and open my browser and try to log into youtube, I have to log in again. I can save my password for the site but it behaves every time as if it's my first time logging in. This hasn't happened in other browsers so im unsure if it's possibly google account settings. That's why it was my first assumption it was with firefox. so far other logins work fine for me. Thank you!
