Убрал галочку в настройках с "Всегда выдавать запрос на сохранение файлов", он все равно при каждом сохранении спрашивает куда сохранить. Как теперь сохранять файлы без этого запроса?

Can you please enlighten me on the internal protocol FF follows when downloads are set to "Always ask you were to save files"? I want that dialog to always default to the previously used folder, but it only does that about 70% of the time (in my guesstimation). The rest of the time it randomly decides it doesn't want to do that and it will pop up the Windows Downloads folder instead.

Sometimes it will do that even right in the middle of a mass-download session where I'm downloading, say, 15 items, doing the right-click/save thing, and after 10 items in which the Save-to dialog has defaulted to the folder I want, it will suddenly decide that it wants to go back to Windows Downloads, and because I'm on autopilot with my keystroke routine, I might go through all 5 final downloads before I notice that it's not saving to the right folder anymore. This is EXTREMELY annoying.

What prompts my current post is that I've just started another session of about 10-15 downloads, but this time I'm five files in and FF is still refusing to default to my desired folder. It's not uncommon for it to take two tries before the folder I want sticks, but not five. It's now officially way uncool to continue navigating there every single damn time.

So please tell me why this happens.

And no, please don't recommend that I temporarily change the default downloads folder and just set it to permanently download there, then change it back to "Always ask" after each session. First, that's an unworthy kludge. Second, I always change the filenames of downloaded files--if nothing else, I always remove underscores or spaces to conserve filename length because I've been severely bitten by that limitation once too many times. Therefore I must use the "Always ask" dialog. It's why I don't usually use Downthemall, fab piece of software though it be.

I have windows 10. Every time I download a file and then go to open it, I get "File Download-Security Warning" this is new and never got that before. How do i eliminate the warning . This only happens when using Firefox..Chrome works fine. I have tried everything and changed more setting in the registry that i can count and have asked Perplexity and Grok plenty of questions with no positive results.

Trying to download a QFX file to an account in my Quicken Classic file. I have done it 100's of times without issue. Now Firefox is downloading the file as a PDF not a QFX. How do I correct the error? Instead of the data from the bank downloading to my Quicken account, this shows on my screen. "PDF VIEWER PLUS SE" "CANNOT OPEN FILE C:/users/herb/downloads/transactions-68.qfx" How can I fix this?

I have personal files on rapidgator.net & premium account. if i try to download one of this files on firefox my speed is only 2-4Mb/s if i try to download with JDownloader the speed is 45-55Mb/s (one single file) This has been happening since October 2025...

Since around April 2026 , the "Show in folder" option (in "Display the progression of ongoing downloads") does not work anymore when a file is downloaded on a NAS drive . I use a Qnap TS-231P NAS .

Hi, on my new PC with Windows 11 Firefox shows "save as" window after the download is complite. How can I change it so that this window appears before download starts?

One of my jobs requires me to download work related documents on my personal pc. I would like to assign the website of the platform we use to download those files in a specific folder so i could delete them easily afterwards. Are there any plans to add such a feature to the browser? Is there a way to do it already? (without having to use the "always ask" option) Thanks in advance. Cheers from Uruguay

The downloaded file name is: part_000000(5),csv The small window that appears asks: "What should Firefox do with this file?" I clicked on "Open with Firefox", then clicked "OK", but the window just vibrates and doesn't open the file. The file contains the URL's of all the pocket saves that will be lost after October 8th.

I struggled some time with download links, no matter what filename I specified in the download="filename" attribute, the file I got was always download(1..n). Now I put all into one zip archive. I have a german and an english page, the link is:

. I can't see a difference except the language. But: the download of the german link comes as "download.zip". The one from the english one as "backup.zip". WHY???

Hi. I'd like to know that there is a way to stop download torrent files and just let my torrent client /qbittorrent/ handle it. Even after i set it to open them with qbittorrent Firefox still downloads those files. I mean can delete them manually, but it is quite annoying.

Firefox asked how i wanted to open documents and I said with Word and it is doing what I asked. I want to open it in PDF or something else because they dont open in word.

I was for reason having to default to LibraOffice and I really did not like that. I switched to FireFox so that I can open files through this browser instead. For some reason I download the files and it should take me to view the file in FireFox. I cannot view it at all. I wanted to be able to view the files in FireFox and then I can sync it with Google Docs and then open some of my files into google docs and I do not have to deal with LibraOffice. Why can I not view my files?

I recently migrated from Chrome to Firefox. As you can see on the screenshots, I have on Chrome the possibility to download the video I am playing by clicking the three dots. This button is not displayed on Firefox. How can I solve this issue. Deactivating Ublock doesn't change anything.
