I purchase audiobooks on Audible.com using my Mac (OS Catalina). When I download a purchase Firefox sends it as an MP4 file which is incompatible with the apps to play the audiobook. Safari and other browsers do no do this - the files come as an .aax file. Even after I have an .aax file I cannot play it using Firefox because Audible.com does not recognize my registered computer. I get an error message: Document "LicenseForCustomerToken" couldn't be opened. Incompatable with QuickTime Player. FYI: QuickTime Player is a video (MP4) player app on my computer. So, once again, Firefox makes the .aax file appear like an MP4 file to Audible. It's doing some kind of unrequested and unwanted conversion of .aax files to MP4.

I hope you can fix this in your next update. i've worked with Audible to solve this issue, but they cannot help and are telling me it is a "known issue" with Firefox and recommend I use a different browser.

On the release notes of 78.15 is states: This is the final planned ESR78 release. Eligible users will be automatically updated to the ESR91 release on November 2.

Never saw this kind of text from mozilla before. Does this mean that unlike previous versions, 78.15 will no longer give you the option to decline automatic updates?

Hello support

I'm having a bit of difficulty with download speeds in Firefox - I'm on a 1000Mbps connection, but Firefox 78.15.0esr can only download at 300-350Mpbs.

Chrome downloads at 700Mbps and Opera at 900Mbps.

Tested with fast.com and speedtest.net, multiple times/various servers, and Firefox speeds are consistently limited to 350Mbps.

Is there anything I can do to speed up Firefox downloads?

Thank you.

Currently, in download for GNU Linux, there is only tarbal option. As far, as I known, Mozilla provide official flatpak package on flathub. Offering tarbar creates some problems. Most important is update problem. Flatpak automatically inform about new version of browser. Also, there is security and compatibility concern.

I propose to include: - Download network installer (flatpak ref file) - Download Firefox (flatpak bundle) - Download tarbar if two above fails (some distro do not support flatpak)

I support an all Mac environment using JAMF Pro. My users and I have been experiencing an issue where if a new installation of Firefox occurs, a new profile is created. This issue is a big problem when it comes to bookmarks. After some research I found this article which supplies some guidance:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1280298#:~:text=If%20you%20use%20a%20profile,how%20your%20data%20is%20stored

However, this does not cover the full picture. We have this problem no matter what version of Firefox is installed: new, same or old. Here is my testing protocol to reproduce the issue

  • Fresh install of Firefox (v 93.0). ~/Application Support/Firefox does not exist
  • Launch Firefox
  • Import Bookmarks
  • Quit Firefox
  • Install the same version of Firefox (v 93.0)
  • Launch Firefox
  • A new profile is created (bookmarks are not there)
  • Navigating to about:profiles lists the old profile, and I can manually make the old profile the default

This is a huge issue for us, as we use Firefox to ssh proxy into our internal resources. These configurations are attached to the profile, and its very inconvenient for end-users to loose their proxy and bookmarks whenever we need to apply a security update for Firefox.
