This is not a problem on "System theme". There are no black squares poking and out it looks perfectly round.

I am running Firefox on PopOS on an Intel NUC, but I have tried it on multiple VMs and experience the same result (92.01).

So i own an Android Phone and i use DuckDuckGo search engine on PC. I just got this adversting from duck asking me to install their extension on android. So why is this important, well obviously they directly tell me they know i own an android phone. Otherwise they would have sayd it this way; extension for mobile phones now available, or duckduckgo now available for iphones. The only other possibility would be if this is a new feature that is in general displayed to everyone, but i dont beleve this is the case because an iphone owner wouldnt care about an android extension. This is wired, is it not?

For quite some time now I've had keyword.enabled set to false in my about:config because I don't like having the address bar try to autocomplete or turn things into search, when I do a ctrl-l.

I do like that I am still able to use ctrl-k to do a search when I need to. This would place a ? at the start of the field and whatever I type gets sent to search.

In a recent upgrade, ctrl-k still places the ? at the start of the address bar but doesn't send things to search. Instead, it now behaves as if I did a ctrl-l and typed in a bad URL.

I'm on Firefox 80 (on Fedora 32) but I can't be exactly sure which upgrade brought this change in behavior.

Is there a way to get the old behavior back? ctrl-l to enter a URL, ctrl-k to search.

I want to change text encoding so it defaults to Unicode. If I use the [alt] key then the View tab I can change it from Western but it reverts back after closing the page. Sometimes that does not work because the Text Encoding option in the View tab is greyed out. The About Firefox window says I am up to date with 83.0 (64bit).

I recently changed from Ubuntu Gnome to KDE Plasma. Now, when I'm running Firefox (v83) and click "Save as" to save a file from a web page, Firefox gives me a file list with directories mixed in alphabetically, rather than at the top. This is new behavior to me; I don't know if it's new with v83 (I was previously running v82), or if it's a KDE implementation issue.

Either way, I HATE having to scroll down through page after page of files and folders to find my destination folder. Since the dialog box also incorporates full-row select, I can't even click in the file list and type the first letter of my destination folder.

Please tell me there is a way to change this behavior and have Firefox's "Save as" dialog sort the files with directories at the top!

Thanks.

Is there any way to revert from the pinch zoom back to the full screen zoom? I know that you can do the css full screen zoom via ctrl + pinch, but it seems much more laggy and slow than in older versions of Firefox. Is there some about:config option I can use to revert it? Or is it just baked in now.

Hi,

after an update Firefox doesn't list Fonts I used to use on all websites.

Firefox: 83.0 MacOs 10.13.6

Usually the fonts are installed under /Users/myUser/Library/Fonts and FF respected those and I was able to choose them from the drop down list. I already tried to install the fonts system-wide (/Library/Fonts) but still no luck, which is unfortunate, because I am dyslexic and those fonts actually make a huge difference for me. FontBook lists them perfectly.

Regards, Michael

Edit: Fresh profile saved the day. Do not know how to delete the question, though.

Dear Volunteer,

First of all, I have to thank you to build the community in your freetime. I've changed my computer. I have 2 firefox accounts, the first for private browsing, the second one for work browsing, and I use them via different Firefox profiles. The configuration of the private account (adam**********y@gmail.com) was succesful. But the configuration of the work account (s****i@orfk.police.hu) was not. I've used this accounts since 2013, and I'd reconfigured them so many times, and there wasn't any problem until now. The actually problem is the unreceived verigfication email. I've tried the actions below: - checking email working -> Perfectly works. - checking spam folder -> There is no any mail in the spam folder. - adding accounts@firefox.com to contact list -> Done. I did not get the verification emails. The administrators probably changed the security settings. I cannot log in, I cannot sync. I tried to send you this letter from my work e-mail, but I did not find any support address, just this option. How can I resolve this problem? Thans for your help.

Kind regards,

Adam Sterbinszky

While trying to fix Firefox's massive memory leaks, I went to Help/Troubleshooting/Add-Ons and found these, which are NOT in the usual Manage Add-ons page:

Amazon.com extension Bing extension

ClearURLs extension <-- Oops! I actually installed this, to try to trim URLs of all the tracking crap when I paste one into a Facebook comment.

DuckDuckGo extension eBay extension Wikipedia (en) extension

All of the other extensions listed are ones I installed and wish to keep. EVERY time I install Firefox, I go to the One-Click Search Engines list and remove all but Google.

I don't know how these wormed their way in, but they don't seem to add any functionality for me.

Hello!

I've change the size of the icons in the bookmark bar by using the userChrome.css which now has

  1. personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item > .toolbarbutton-icon { height:25px !important; width:25px !important; }

I've increased the height and the width for larger size of the icons since my bookmarks don't have text. The problem is that some of the become blurry after the enlargement. I've tried to force refresh the favicons by Ctrl+F5 and also deleting the cache, but it still does not work.

I know that favicons are usually provided in 16x16 px and 32x32, but I don't see how could I make firefox use the 32x32 version since it's using the 16x16 and enlarging it.

Thanks in advance!

Within the last 2 weeks or so I get this error repeatedly when accessing secure sites that i used to be able to access with no issues. I use a private VPN and 2 factor authentication. Sometimes stopping the VPN momentarily fixes this, but for other sites, it's no go. This isn't an SSL or SEC error and a search on help forum didn't provide an answer.
