Usually I don't properly close my applications before rebooting or shutting down my machine. Firefox then restores my previous session, which I don't want.

I've tried the following but this didn't work:

• Verify "Open previous windows and tabs" isn't checked
• set `browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes` to 0
• set `browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash` to false

Do you have any idea, why this doesn't work? or any other ideas how I could disable this?

I'm a software developer working on some web application and sometimes need to manually add URL components in the address bar of an open tab simpyl to test something. For example I have some tab open shwoing the web page under "http://localhost:8080/entry" and I need to test "http://localhost:8080/entry/foobar" by manually adding "/foobar" to the URL. Depending on if "/foobar" exists or not, either some web page is shown or inc ase of a HTTP status code 404 Firefox automatically opens a new tab and forwards my input as search to Google.

That is not what I want. I want Firefox to simply show the HTTP status code 404 like the other browsers I use. Though, I want to be able to search in the address bar in general, only not in case there's an existing working URL open already and I change the child path only.

Is there some way to disable the behaviour of Firefox for 404s or do I need to completely disable searches in the address bar instead?

I recently changed to Firefox from chrome and the focus on security and privacy was a much needed upgrade. However, every time I close my windows I'm logged out of all my accounts. I checked all the settings that would have that effect even escalating it to a clean install and unfortunately nothing works. After checking the support forums this setting seemed to be the one that fixed things, attached is a screenshot showing that its unchecked and that there is cookie data stored, so I'm really at a loss.

While on michaels.com I click on a product, it goes to the product then immediately the screen goes blank. It also happens when I do a search, multiple products show up, then the screen goes blank. I don't have that issues on other websites. What is going on and how do I solve this issue?

I've been using firefox for 10 years and this is the first time this is happening on me. Firefox was working fine but it does not work starting yesterday, simple task like opening and starting a new tab firefox took more than 20 seconds. None of the pages are showing anything, even those about:config pages are not working Every other browsers, like safari and chrome is working perfectly.

I tried to refresh, reset, safe mode, uninstall and deleted library/caches/firefox, library/application support/firefox, but the same problem still occurs.

My specs: macos 14.1. intel 13900kf, 6800xt, corsair vengeance ddr5 48gb, wd 850x ssd

I keep getting a 403 error message when trying to access the British Airways website. This is the first time I have encountered this, although it is perhaps 3 years since I last flew BA. I have cleared my cache and cookies. I have also tried to access the same ba.com site using Edge - with the same error message. This suggests that the problem may lie with BA. However, they have no technical support that I can reach. So I do not know what to do next. I use Kaspersky anti-virus and Malwarebytes to screen for malware. 4 PM, November 7, 2023 EST. The "About" page of all YouTube channels suddenly disappeared, whatever the the login status. A compressed version will show up from a channel's home page when clicking on the site description from its Home page. Make things weirder, ~6:15 PM it WAS visible from the Tor browser but started acting the same. I have no ad blockers, or ANY extension installed on any apps, including Firefox/TOR browsers. Updates to both browsers were made prior to this behavior. It may be Google/YouTube's fault but it's becoming frustrating because I prefer Mozilla's browsers over Edge or Chrome.

Had to reinstall my pc over consistent error messages (thank you windows 10 for being the same pos system), and now all my bookmarks are gone, the bookmark backup folder is also empty, I have two years worth of personal and business related sites saved that will cripple me financially and mentally if I can't get them back.

Reaching out to Sync to try that, but looking for any kind of alternative fix here to recover the bookmarks.

How come that we are in 2023 and we still do not have major features like Chrome's Profiles or Orion Browser's Profiles.

For example, Orion Browser creates an app per profile and this allows MacOS users to customize each app with a different icon. This seems small but on a taskbar we can differentiate the instances faster.

Why is that the best option for managing profiles in Firefox is the Firefox Profile Switcher, a third-party tool supported by a community member?

Will this ever be addressed? Firefox is better than the others in so many things but, for example, even Safari implemented Profiles now.

To be clear: containers are NOT the same thing as profiles and profiles still have an usage. For example, my work profile has no syncs, different extensions and stricter configurations than my personal profile and this cannot be done with containers.

Good evening, I have a problem with the display of bold text on the Wordpress site editor.

I have already contacted the Wordpress experts and we have noticed that the problem does not exist with other browsers and does not depend on the brand of the PC, given that we have tried with different PCs and with different operating systems (Mac and Windows).

The problem really comes from the browser.

How can I solve it?

This morning the add-on 'Search By Image' has ceased working. I use it daily, it worked yesterday, and so far as I know there have been no updates to FF or SBI or Windows.

To test I tried removing SBI and re-adding it, and disabling Malwarebytes.

I disabled SBI and installed "Image Search Options". ISO works, though I prefer SBI.

Win11, FF is now 119.0, but it auto-updated when I went to check so I do not know what it was when the problem began this morning. I have not restarted, I have too many tabs open at the moment.

This is also happening to a different PC that is Win10/FF, but never had Malwarebytes installed. SBI still does not work after restarting FF v119.0 in Win10.

Any ideas on how to diagnose this?

Firefox is running x 8 in my task manager at the moment. Why does it keep multiplying and slowing down my computer? I am almost ready to uninstall Firefox. If I merely need to revert to an earlier version of Firefox, please let me know how to do that. Thank you. Shannon

my electronic health record is freezing using Firefox on 2 different computers in 2 different locations. Internet speed 45 mbps at 1 location and 900 mbps at another. Able to use it on chrome.

Hello, I've got a reproduction issue on France TV live programs which I watch through nordvpn. The picture keeps "jumping" fast up and down in a very bothering way. This doesn't happen when the video is NOT live. I run the latest version of LINUX MINT. What can I do to fix it? The only way I found to stop the issue is to take down the resolution of the live video to its minimum which gives me a disastrous picture but stops the "jumping". I guess you might say there is something wrong with my GPU. The point is that my PC is brand new with an AMD 5600G, new MB, 16Gb of RAM and 500w of PSU. BUT more than anything I have to say that everything WORKS FINE with CHROME. I like FIREFOX I have been using it literally for decades now. (I'm 75). Is there a solution? Since pretty much the beginning of the internet, pop-ups were deemed a significant annoyance, so much so it diminished and ruined the users’ browsing experience and significantly reduced efficiencies. Hence the addition of pop-up blocking settings to all browsers long ago.

However, for some unknown reason Firefox gives Google a free pass and allows their “sign-in” pop-up that pop-ups seemingly on every website you visit where you then have to then manually close the pop-up on pretty much every single website you visit - even though you have the pop-up blocker setting on ( and the only way to turn off a pop-up blocker is to specifically add a website to allow for pop-ups).

This is absolutely horrible and not acceptable. If you have the pop-up setting on, no pop-up should be allowed to get through no matter what it is or the source. If you allow one pop-up to continue then you should be allowing hundreds of thousands of other pop-ups as well. But you wouldn’t as you know this would be unacceptable, but again, somehow Firefox allows Google’s pop-up to go through and it pop-ups on pretty much every single website you visit.

Note that I selected Privacy and Security Setting as the "topic" above as that is were Firefox has it's pop-up setting (and where you can add exceptions to allow pop-ups for specific websites)

When watching a video on youtube using firefox the network speed displayed by youtube is significantly slow that when on a chromium browser in this case edge. I have tried prievous suggestions such as disabling Zero Round Trip Time Resumption (0rtt) and tried in troubleshooting mode, neither have an effect. I have attached screenshots from the same video from each browser.

I am unable to play any videos on firefox only because of this WidevindCDN crash messages. i have updated firefox to the latest version and restarted the device and tried again however this error keeps showing up and doesnt let any video play. Please fix
