Every time I launch Firefox it creates 12-13 instances of Firefox along with one each for Chrome and Console.

I don't need that many instances. Typically I have no more than 3-4 tabs open.

Is there a Configuration setting that I can change to reduce the number of instances to 5 and greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to launch.

I am running Windows 10 Pro V21H2 at current update level. I have a custom made tower with 512GB SSD and a Core2 Duo processing running at 2.93 GHz with 8 GB Ram. Firefox is V17.0.1.

Every once in awhile i get a second Firefox icon pinned to my taskbar and also a second listing for firefox in my programs list. If i try and delete the extra version there is only one listed in the control panel. Has anyone else seen this? I am running Windows 10 Pro.

I take this to be a best practice to not use more than one vpn at a time. Should those visiting and be given access to network be asked to turn off theirs if connected to same network setup? Should any extensions intended to sync favorites or 'read later' be turns off as well?

In the old version you rendered tables correctly - MS-IE and Edge did not. In the present version you have - mysteriously - inherited their error - how has that happened?  There is one table pr letter in the alphabeth, only letter S goes wrong.

I have some Bookmarks on my laptop. I have some of these Bookmarks (Not all) on my tablet, plus some other Bookmarks.

If I sync them, which direction does the sync work in? Will all my Bookmarks on my laptop now appear on my tablet (Which I do not want to happen)? Will all my Bookmarks on my tablet now appear on my laptop (Which I do want)? Will I end up with two copies of most Bookmarks, because all my laptop Bookmarks are transfered to my tablet, plus all my tablet Bookmarks are transfered to my laptop?

I cannot find any explanatioin of what Sync actually does.

I am trying to download a large file. Am on a course, and the main tutor has given the group a file to download. Have tried downloading this 5 times, but get little luck. The file that I would want to download is 8.5GB, and the furthest I get is about 4GB.

I have 2 questions about this.

1) I seem to have a very 'in and out internet connection. It seems to go down at times for no reason, cutting off the download. Is there anything I could do about this? How could I troubleshoot this, please? 2) Does anybody know of any special tools that I can use to download in a more efficient manner, please? Perhaps an extension for Firefox might be able to do this, perhaps? Kind Regards to Anyone Answering this Query, Marek

I've been using firefox desktop pretty much since its inception. Despite numerous updates, for well over a year it has been auto scrolling when on facebook and I have tried every fix it to no avail (I'm highly computer literate and to me, this is now nuts). Note. My android mobile has never done it. I am at the end of my tether and am now looking at moving to another browser due to the frustration. I've gone through all the forums and note there are hundreds (if not thousands) of people with the same problem. Why can you not fix this and is there a fix? So for my main gmail I have 2 step for obvious security reasons, but I want it to trust my PC so that I don't have to pull out my phone every time I try to access it. No matter how many times I click the option to trust this PC it always ask' for the 2 step, and I don't see the PC on the trusted list in my gmail settings. I have already added "mail.google.com" to the exceptions part of the cookie and site data settings, even "account.google.com" but it just doesn't seem to work. What is the obvious thing that I am missing?

Cannot delete items added to cart on patioslingsite.com using Firefox. Works ok using Google and Microsoft Edge browers. Using latest Firefox update on my Windows 10 OS and tried a few setting changes in Firefox without resolve. Is there a particular setting that needs to be changed or is there something else going on?

when i try and download something from some websites, it doesnt actually download what its supposed to but just a file called random numbers without any file extension or anything, or alternatively a damaged version of what its supposed to download. ive never had this glitch happen before and it doesnt happen to me on other browsers like edge or chrome. does anybody know how to fix it? (i am on windows 11 if that helps with anything)

Hello, I tried to sign in to my firefox account on a new computer and it appears the rules for password format have changed such that my existing password is too short to be used. How should I proceed to either sign in or reset my password without affecting my existing firefox browsers and lockwise app? Thank you.

Somehow I seem to have lost everything from my Yahoo pages. Sent, Archive, Deleted are all empty. There should be a mass of stuff in there. I was looking through Settings and may have accidentally clicked on something I shouldn't have. I was not intending to change anything. I guess I can't recover anything but I want to get it back as it was so whatever happens from now is saved in the right place.

What do I need to do to achieve this? You just can't guess the mass of stuff that has disappeared. A lot of it irreplaceable. Thanks in advance. Mike
