Hi All,

I just started running a dual monitor set up on macOS 12.4. I have updated Firefox to version 102.0.1.

I'm running into an issue where if I want to have a video playing from a browser in full screen on one monitor, I lose the menu bar and access to the dock on the other monitor. I have set them up so that they behave as separate spaces but the issue persists. It should be noted that this only occurs when I'm trying to use the web browser on the second monitor. My impression of what's happening is the browser thinks that since it's in full screen on one monitor, it should be on the second screen as well. I want them both to act independently of one another and retain access to the menu bar and dock on the second screen.

I've trialed this with Brave Browser and Safari and neither of them have the same issue which leads me to believe with overwhelming probability that the issue I'm experiencing is isolated to Firefox.

I've included a screenshot from my second monitor. On my primary monitor I have a YouTube video in full screen. I think you can see from the screenshot that the Menu Bar has disappeared from the second display. I also have the Dock set to automatically hide and when the video is full screen on the primary monitor, the Dock will not un-hide itself on the second screen. Unfortunately clicking within the browser will not restore the Menu Bar and access to the Dock. Is this atypical behavior?

I appreciate whatever help you're able to provide.

I made the mistake of allowing Firefox to update this morning, 7/7/22. Since then everything has slowed dramatically, and some pages I visit often - which have always loaded in the past - now don't even load. I am running Windows 7. It seems apparent that this "update" messed things up. Can I undo it?

For no reason I can name, Firefox's window sizing has gone bonkers.

I'm using Firefox 101.0.1 with Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise. I have two Firefox windows open.

When I unlock the computer after a period of non-use, the Firefox task bar icon has two white bars at the edge, indicating that two windows are open, but the windows not visible. Quitting and restarting Firefox does not help.

To recover the first window I must float the mouse over the task bar icon, opening thumbnails of the windows, then right click the first thumbnail and select Maximize. This makes the maximized window appear. Then I can drag the window away from the edge of the screen, reducing its size. After that it behaves normally until the computer is locked and unlocked; then the process repeats.

I can't recover the second window at all. Its thumbnail is empty except for a tiny rectangle in the upper left corner, presumably representing a tiny window. When I right click the thumbnail it doesn't open a menu; it just displays a blue rectangle as high as a normal window's title bar and about four times wider than high. Presumably this is what's left of the window. It has no title, no minimize/maximize/close buttons, and no system menu icon. Trying to change its size by dragging its edges has no effect. Nor does trying to maximize it by pushing it up to the top edge of the desktop.

What can I do to make Firefox behave normally? How can I prevent this from happening again?

Whenever I open the Firefox browser, it takes 3-4 minutes to load a website. This only happens when I open the browser. But once the first website loads after several minutes, I can load other websites within seconds. But I don't face such problems in other browsers like Chrome, Edge, or Brave. P.S I have a good internet connection and configuration.

I leave Gmail open all day in my Firefox browser and check it multiple times an hour - yet at least once a day, Firefox crashes - I get a message saying I'm "not connected." I can't sign into Gmail again until at least 15 minutes have passed, usually longer. In addition, Gmail is extremely slow to open in the morning when I first open Firefox - like security features are being set up that take a long, long time. Google Chrome, on the other hand, immediately opens Gmail for me, though I do get a message saying my connection isn't secure. (Hence my conclusion that security features are slowing Firefox down.) Is there some fix for this? Because I'm pretty much ready to ditch Firefox and use Chrome. Thank you.

I have read through other bug reports about this issue that has seemed to happen multiple times over the past 5+ years...

I am unable to use my laptop touchscreen in Firefox browser for scrolling or long-hold to right click. Attempted scrolling or pinch-zoom just highlights text.

added to /.bashrc "export MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1"

I see in the config options that the GTK build specifies Wayland. I am very new to all of this so I am not totally sure what that means or if it makes a big difference..? I'm running X11, not Wayland.

Any help is very much appreciated!
