On my mac I have the f14 key mapped to start a screen saver, but whenever I'm using firefox it appears to take control of the f14 key and prevents the use of my screen saver shortcut. Whenever I select another program that isn't firefox, my shortcut immediately works again, so I know firefox is the problem. Is there anyway to prevent firefox from using the f14 key?

I'm looking for a shortcut/hotkey to focus the page.

The best I found is "Move to Next Frame", which is F6. When having the URL bar as focus, and no bookmark bar open, this will focus the page.

I have two questions here: - Is there a better way to focus the page? - If not, how can I remap F6 to a more usable hotkey?

I have found some threads with workaround like tabbing 2-3 times until the page is in focus. I'm looking for a single shortcut, having to press a key multiple times kinda defeats the purpose of a shortcut.

I have found information on how to remap hotkeys with either extensions or autoconfig, but I can't find which key I have to change. Extensions don't seem to include this key.

For autoconfig, I looked through view-source:chrome://browser/content/browser.xhtml and the Browser Toolbox to find this shortcut, but with no success. Maybe I looked at the wrong spot, maybe not all shortcuts are listed there?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

When use chrome I can double click with select IP address. But It's only select one number in Firefox. I think the chrome behavior is more compatible habits of people.

I know layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation config . But It's not. In chrome, only dot will be part of number.

for example: this is a IP: 1.1.1.1, you can try it.

in chrome will get: this is a IP: "1.1.1.1", you can try it.

but in Firefox only select 1

So i make page smaller at 60% size, and when i scroll it move on the same amount of space as its on 100% size, basically decrease scroll speed. Is there a way to make it not happen and make scroll speed the same at any page size.

Almost every Firefox update for the last year has deleted my container tabs.

More recently, while reconstructing my containers for several Google accounts, I pin them as I create each tab. Next time I restart Firefox the pinned containers are there but blank when opened and new unpinned tabs appear for the same containers.

I tried changing my IP address with a free IP address in Network Settings but that didn't work (because I searched my address online and it didn't change) so I added Firefox "Hide my IP" extension and that didn't work, either. I went to a few websites and I got popups telling me I needed to hide my IP address. How can I change my IP address without paying for a VPN?

I blamed on Facebook last release when it started to interrupt comments and edits, either attempting to reload the page, or simply hitting "back" one or 2 pages, even when I am thinking and do not touch the keyboard. Then I discovered the same feature while edited a post in X. Different sites, the same behavior. So, I removed all Firefox related controls from the touch bar, and the problem disappeared. I am not sure, was it the result of upgrade to MacOS 14.3, or upgrade of Firefox to 122, or is something wrong with Macbook Pro hardware?

As suggested in the related instructions, I tried with both ^ (just the first datestamp shown consistenly) & * (datestamp appears shortly in first post, then disappears very quickly <1sec), with results shown respectiively.

Is this a Mozilla issue or FB trying to be funny...? If the former can we have a bug ref that can be followed. All I see from the community posts are questions being archived once the cor-el workaround has been added. This isnt a lot of use for those still effected...

I have a Ledger Nano S crypto wallet. Not all cryptos show directly in my Ledger and I wish to use MetaMask to view them. When using Chrome, with my Ledger connected and active, my Ledger doesn't connect due to "unknown error". When using Firefox, with my Ledger connected and active, my Ledger similarly doesn't connect due to "unknown error" although in this case there was an additional screen note from Firefox regarding "ongoing problems connecting Ledger devices to MetaMask (origin April 23?)". When using Brave browser there is not a problem viewing my tokens (although a different problem is that I lose token upgrade functionality - hence my desire to connect Ledger to MetaMask using a different browser - preferably Firefox). I use the latest versions of the browsers and Windows 10 in conjunction with Avast One anti-virus. I’ve also cleared cookies and cache several times. All drivers and software are up to date. Any thoughts on rectifying my connection problem please?

Hi, I have been quite satisfied with Firefox for a while, but these problems are ruining the experience for me. 1. The tabs keep refreshing when I switch apps or even when I stay on the browser, just by changing tabs and leaving it open within the session. I usually open a lot of tabs, and this has nothing to do with the inactive ones. 2. I used to be able to play YouTube videos in the background or with my screen off on the Firefox browser on my Android phone without problem. But now the audio keeps pausing and doesn't continue to load, even closes itself after a few seconds of loading. Nothing i've done, including downloading the video playback fix addon, clearing cache, restarting phone and turning off and on data saving mode/background data permission, has fixed this problem.

Firefox will not let me log in to my Lowe's account nor my Petsmart account. I have no trouble using other browsers. Is this a settings issue or a issue between Firefox and those websites?

Running Firefox 122.0 on Mac OS Ventura. When I save some articles via the toolbar icon, ithey show up in my online Pocket account, but only as links, not full downloads. Same for some saves via my iOS app. Consequently I'm unable to read this content offline. Attached screenshot shows the difference. Any suggestions?

Safari has a menu option to "Close All Windows" (Command, alt W).

I am curious to know why Firefox doesn't.

The only way to close-all that I am aware of, is to quit Firefox and restart. Very frustrating!

There are sub-menu functions for individual tabs and such, but no simple way to clear the browser.

(I'm on Mac OS Sonoma)
