Should I use DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials with Mozilla/Firefox? Would all of the Firefox features work the same or would DuckDuckgo replace Firefox features? If both worked together it would seem to be the best option. I would greatly appreciate some input on this.

Is there a setting to avoid firefox swapping to new tabs, when ctrl-clicking search results in address bar?

Sometimes I want to search on multiple things through the address bar, but usually I search on google instead because every time I ctrl-click to open the searches, firefox automatically switches to that tab which means I have to swap back to the other tab, every time I open a new tab through the address bar.

It's only a problem in the search bar. Bookmarks and links on webpages open in new tabs, without swapping to those tabs.

I'm using PAC file that returns SOCKS5 proxy, however in my Network Monitor I see actual IP addresses rather than proxified. This is contrary to what Chromium does and it makes no sense. I need to know which requests were successfully proxied.

Is there a ay to enforce it or as usual Firefox is 10 years behind Chrome?

On linux terminal the text should change color but how do I do that on firefox? By the way I have these settings for the caret ui.caretBlinkTime 0 ui.caretWidth 7 Not being able to see the character under the caret is problematic, would be nice if anyone knows what to do.

I use Firefox version 103, the old version that is perfectly compatible with an extension I always use. I love this old version, and I don't want to update it to the new version. But the update reminder pops up many times everyday. it's so annoying. I used "about config" to turn it off (see photo 2); it works a bit, but the popup still there once daily after the configuration. I want to turn it off permanently. Is there any way to do it? I’m currently using Windows 10 Firefox v.124.0.1 and am set to auto update. For some time now I’ve been trying to make use of the option to set homepage as a shortcut folder as described: Settings/Home/Homepage and new windows where one of the options is: ‘Choose a Bookmark to be your Home Page. If you choose a folder, the Bookmarks in that folder will be opened in Tabs.’ You then need to delete the existing homepage and select the desired shortcut folder. This works but after it appears to be a static rather than dynamic selection as regardless of any changes made to the indicated folder, the homepage does not change. Am I doing something wrong or expecting too much. Thanks John

I'm using a PC with windows 11 and my Firefox is up-to-date 124.0.1 (64 bits).

1- It's been several years since a "full screen <=> rest of page" transition was implemented on youtube (using the scroll wheel for example). Is there a way to completely hide YouTube's vertical scrollbar in full screen mode?

I've checked with Opera and Edge browsers and their behaviors are normal in my mind, as the bar is simply hidden in full-screen mode, no matter where I move the cursor. https://ibb.co/nkJzb8S

On Firefox, it is hidden but only if you don't move the mouse or hold the cursor over the scroll bar. https://ibb.co/VW3JTzp Is this an expected behavior in Firefox?

Otherwise, I've tried a couple of "hide scrollbar" style add-ons, but nothing worked, at least for this particular vertical bar, in full screen mode. I also tried the Troubleshoot mode, and to delete the internet cache with no more success. 2- Another question please, why are add-ons disabled on mozilla.org pages, and is there a way to enable some of them on there ?

I have the Dark Reader extension, because white screens HURT MY EYES. This is an accessibility issue! ALL of your support pages do not recognize or respond to the dark reader extension, and leave the page backgrounds WHITE! I can barely stand to write this! UGH! Thank you for fixing this!

I'm seeking assistance with disabling the browser contextual menu specifically on SHIFT+Right Click for my webpage. While this functionality is working as intended on other browsers, Firefox seems to be an exception. Is there a recommended approach to achieve this on Firefox? Previously I've been able to select search suggestions using the keyboard when typing into a search bar. As of a few days ago this no longer works on some sites like YouTube, but does work on others like Google. The issue is not to do with num lock or scroll lock, and my browser is up to date (124.0.1 Ubuntu Snap version).

I am trying to use OBS Virtual camera, I am resetting permissions of camera access, removing cache and data to be sure, and selecting it but it still doesn't let me use OBS Virtual Cam and selects Built in cam automatically does anyone has any solutions ?

when I enter for first time I can select and i select OBS Virtual Cam and I click on Allow and then next window pops up and it doesnt let me select anything else...

Hello everyone, I’m a fan of Firefox due to its efficient handling of webpage caching and memory management. However, I often find myself switching back to the Chromium-based Edge browser due to one specific feature in its DevTools. In Edge, when I resize the viewport, it stops at a certain limit. If I want to resize it further, I can zoom out and then continue resizing. I find this feature very useful. Is there a way to have similar functionality in Firefox? I’m currently using the Firefox Developer Edition.

the issue now i have with firefox 124.0.2 is that the transition is now instant when my mouse enters or leaves the window and one of my addon buttons (roboform) no longer works with this userchrome.css edit.

its been a few updates ago it broke maybe 15 or so and now im wondering if there is a better updated script that works like it used to.

When I right click Firefox in my taskbar I have a list of "recent" links show up. I have turned this off in about:config but they still show up. Any suggestions?

I currently have like 40 windows and a few hundred of tabs opened from when the bookmark star was not working after updates. I have found it too difficult to organize my current filing system ever since they stopped the drag and drop feature. I want to type in more than the first letter to find a file or folder. I want to type in a word - have those FOLDERS only come up to chose from with that word in their titles..but alas no field to do so. The Organize page is hard to find - below the options as a postscript on the ff options submenu. Once there - it doesn't bring up just folders in one box and the files that you want to organize in another box and the ability to drag them into the right folder. Instead it brings up only misc files in no particular order. I can't work with that for type of job. This is more for finding a file I think - alone. So -that's why I left so many files up. Not my normal way to do things - I would file them then close all windows down empty - or maybe just what I was working on still up. Not my question. My question is just what was in the title bar. That's all. Thanks. Oh I know the setting is there to have them open at start up or not. Question is is I say no - will they be deleted? I know you can click on "restore prior session" from the ff menu after history. (altho I can't see it - poss bec I opened with prior session. ) I basically want access to SEE my prior session windows/tabs without opening them until I CLICK on them to activate them. I want to see the TITLE of the links basically "off-line" and decide if I want to go there and work or not one by one - NOT to "restore all" or not. And if you don't restore previous session on your subsequent session - and logoff/shutdown. Is the prior session lost for your "3rd session and forward"? does it only save the very last session? say i had 40 windows open. chose not to open them auto next session - via settings. AND i never opened them all for that subsequent session. What happens to those 40 windows the next time? Are they unsaved? Since i never opened them - say only used the new blank windowtab to check the weather. closed the link shut down. That session had no windows or tabs left open but the home page = next session should have no windows or tabs saved in the ff menu underneath the history by how it is said. There is no clarification. It's a big deal to just try it - and lose 300 tabs I need to look at and favorite through. Get me? I hope it's clear. I feel you only need the title bar but it wouldn't allow so I felt I had to elaborate. PLS help. I have to clean up to do MS OS upgrades, backups, I have partions, gotta read up so this thing has to be fixed first. Plus auto opening/connecting to links on all those tabs at start up is interferring with updates bec they happen at the same time - badddd news. Thanks all!
