Hello,

I use Firefox stable on both my Mac and my Win 11 PC. On the mac i use the developer edition. The issue I have started about 2-3 weeks ago. Most of the time, playing youtube 4k videos just either freezes and doesn't buffer, or just skips and reloads. It is not a network issue. I've tried playing back the same video with ARC on OSX (which is based on chromium) and with Chome on windows. It works flawlessly so it's not a network issue. I've tried disabling adblocker, all the extensions, nothing. It's either Youtube messing with non google products again or a problem with Firefox itself. I even have Youtube premium and this stuff still happens without adblockers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Follow up question: A while ago, I changed the autoplay settings in about:config, but I noticed they reverted to default. Do these settings reset with major browser updates? Or could it be that the settings' names changed, resulting in the default value being applied? Should I periodically check these values to ensure they haven't changed?

Issue: I updated the settings in about:config as mentioned in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1440060 by cor-el. It appears to have stopped the autoplay of videos. However, after browsing Google News and Yahoo News articles for about 30 minutes, my browser crashes. This happens under the same usage pattern as before. The browser becomes unresponsive, and if I click on anything, I see the rainbow Apple spinning wheel. Eventually, I have to force quit the browser. See attached.

I have had this spam pop up 2 times when I was on Facebook through Firefox through DuckDuckGo. Could someone confirm that this is spam and how to fix it? Also, I would like to report it to Firefox and I can't find how to do that either. Thank you

I can't print an email. The whole screen prints and is too small to read.

I read previous answers to use the drop down menu and select print, but then I get window that says I have a blocking the print. I don't have an active blocker. I do have malwarebytes. Never had any trouble printing on chrome or safari.

Firefox does not automatically create a new empty window on startup. Neither starting from "applications" nor clicking icon in the dock

Instead once has to right click the icon then click "New Window"

Why is it that the people who "improve" products are always dickering with the look and feel to no benefit to the user? Why suddenly does a new empty window not open? Fantastic job Mozilla. It takes me an hour or so to figure out how to even get a window with the default web page URL and then I have to perform forever after three clicks instead on one.

I have a suggestion. The next time you think about changing the look and feel: DON'T. It is just that simple. DON'T.

Hi, I like to know how to transfer addresses to bookmark toolbars? I have the copy all addresses of bookmarks in the previous firefox. I transferred all, but they are in one bookmark, not in toolbars, or other bookmarks. I like to set the same as the previous bookmarks. Thank you so much for your help, Miyabi

While I was browsing an open tab I moved my cursor over to the Bookmarks icon and the cursor automatically enlarged itself. I expect the cursor to remain at its normal size when I hover over the bookmarks icon but instead it became larger. I cannot reproduce the error unfortunately.

My sync is only sometimes working. I notice that when saving a bookmark and trying to find it on another device. I sometimes have to manually resync it or wait for a few days to get it shown on my other devices. Same with the tab sharing across devices.. In most cases it doesn't work at all..

Should I use DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials with Mozilla/Firefox? Would all of the Firefox features work the same or would DuckDuckgo replace Firefox features? If both worked together it would seem to be the best option. I would greatly appreciate some input on this.

This appears to be an ongoing issue with several community support pages now archived, but the problem still persists. This is after applying cor-el's workaround in https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1413716.

OS: MacOS 14.2.1 FF: 122.0

As suggested in the related instructions, I tried with both ^ (just the first datestamp shown consistenly) & * (datestamp appears shortly in first post, then disappears very quickly <1sec), with results shown respectiively.

Is this a Mozilla issue or FB trying to be funny...? If the former can we have a bug ref that can be followed. All I see from the community posts are questions being archived once the cor-el workaround has been added. This isnt a lot of use for those still effected...

Trying to save a web page as a PDF to Evernote; error message Can't tell if this is an Evernote problem or a Firefox problem. 1. Click the "Print" button on the web page. 2. Scroll down to "print using system dialog". 3. Click the "PDF" button and scroll down to "Save PDF to Evernote". Error message appears: "error running print workflow". I've used this function many times before and it has worked with no problems. (I tried the "Mail PDF with Postbox" option on the PDF menu and it works.)

In MacOS preferences I made a shortcut for Firefox for sharing a bookmark to Notes. I have several tabs open. I switch to some tab and press my shortcut. Everything happens just like when I share manually – either via the File-Share menu bar or by right-clicking on the bookmark. The bug when using my created shortcut is that it still only shares one tab – the first one. Clicking on another tab and pressing the shortcut again shares the first one, not the newly active one.

In Brave browser same thing works fine. Firefox + Waterfox tried and tested and the same bug.

I'm currently looking for a job, and I keep my windows separated by category, so I have one that is job search related, and the other that is more general. In my job search window, I have many tabs open for different job postings that I want to hang on to /keep track of. When I want to jump to one of these tabs, I open a new tab and type in whatever its title would be, and then when it pops up in my history I click the "Switch to tab" shortcut to get to it. I find it saves time as opposed to sifting through 50 tabs. In this case, I was trying to find a tab that was opened to a sales job posting, and I clicked switch to tab. However, it took me to a what I think is an entirely separate window, one that I didn't even have open previously, and my jobs window disappeared. I tried to reopen it in History, but it didn't show up. Does anyone know what might have happened here, and how I can recover that window?

I cannot browse using firefox and Safari on my MacBook Air for the last 3 days. Message saying "Warning potential security risk ahead" I have cleared cache, dont know what else to do

Trying to use a dapp - ape terminal- to connect metamask wallet. I have disable all other extensions. i have disabled and re enabled metamask but error "metamask not detected". The same dapp is able to connect with metamask on chrome. Not sure what is the problem with Firefox.

I would like to use the Firefox Container tabs. I understand how they group tabs in different catagories keeping cookies separate and making your browsing more private. I use an add-on tool that groups tabs so that I can open an entire set of tools at once. Can I use the Firefox Container tabs in a similar way? I'd like to be able to select one container and have all of the tabs in that container open at once.

When browsing in Firefox and I'm trying to select buttons to click, Firefox often now shows me a menu instead of allowing me to click. I have to migrate away from the button elsewhere on the page a few times and then get back to the button. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't. Why is it doing this now?

I have not updated firefox in a while, but recently got an error on netflix that my browser was no longer compatible and to update

So I updated to the latest version of firefox - 122.01 (64-bit) but now I have a new problem. I cannot watch anything on netflix or hulu (though I can on max for some reason).

Each time I try to play anything on netflix I get a white screen on firefox and it automatically takes me back to the sign in page of netflix. Each time I try to play anything on hulu it plays BUT I cannot see the video. I can hear it but the actual video isn't shown, the controls are there but I can only see the the menu/other things to watch of hulu (picture attached) though I can't actually click on any of the other shows

I do not have this problem on chrome but firefox is my main browser, can i get any assitance Things I have already tried: I completely cleared my history & cache after signing out of everything (did this twice). Turned off computer, signed back in but still have this issue
