I recently switched from Brave to FF. An annoying problem is that whenever I click web links in external programs such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook etc Firefox always opens it in a new window instead of a new tab like Brave did. Also the window it opens does not have my extensions enabled, indicating that it is some form of incognito or web view window or something? These are my settings.

How can I solve this issue?

The Update to 108.0.1 succeeded, but the partial process for "sync" still shows as partway. Must've clicked that item by mistake, and then killed it after seeing the scope--since I don't use a smartphone., etc., anyway!

We should be cautioned that this 108.0.1 upgrade is a complicated one. At midnight I just wanted to do a SIMPLE update (release notes listed just one item), shut it off and hit the sack --not be swamped with all the myriad new choices and features to learm! --as I now see.

Every day when I go to work with my laptop which has Fedora 36 installed, I open up Firefox in order to fill the "IT Checklist" where I need to visit a couple of local intranet websites in order to fill upbound threshold and inbound threshold.

I see weird Firefox behavior when it comes to, "Firefox remembering past logins". Let's say, I went to a website that has a URL like 20.200.30.200, and a password 1234.

Every time I try to log in to this website, Firefox asks if I want to update my password !! Something which I don't understand. Neither I am changing the password, nor I have written a different password to update with.

Every time Firefox try to update the password of this website with a random long string of character, which is out of my mind. I have to be careful each time and press "Don't Update" option.

On a normal website (let's say Facebook.com) there is no such problem. But when it comes to a local website, Firefox behaves very differently.

There is another website called 20.0.20.1. Its username is root and the password is 4321. But when I try to login in, only the password section is auto-filled, the username section needs to manually be written. Even though about:logins see both domains saving their respective username and password, when it comes to serving users, it sucks misbehave a lot.

Clearly, there is a fundamental problem in Firefox when it comes to handling how logins are saved and served to the user.

I really hope that Firefox 109 fixes this issue and handles the local website properly.

About 6 weeks or so ago, I began finding messages intermittently on my screen when I got up in the morning. It would state that Firefox had crashed and needed to be restarted or closed. It would transmit error information first in either case. Firefox has sent updates a few times since, and if I had the browser closed it would update upon being opened. The original problem is still there and now I have an additional problem. The first problem was a nuisance but the second is not acceptable. My email service is fastmail which I have used for many years. Sometimes I will open an email and need to click to go to another location. My problem is that I will click to do so and I get left with a blank screen and I never arrive where i am trying to go. It never reports any kind of an error. If I use Microsoft Edge everything executes as it should. That tells me there is no problem with the emails. the email provider, and takes the problem back to Firefox. When you sent an update you may have reset my settings. It seems like it sees opening the new page I am going to is likened to blocking a popup window. I am going to guess it is treating every page I attempt to open via the page I am on like a popup window. This problem is somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes it executes just fine. I get 80 to 100 emails each day and this feature not working properly is very aggravating. Example: I open a Kohls ad email or a Sam's Club ad email and click on the object I am interested in. However, all I get is a blank page and no errors reported. It may or may not execute properly if I go directly to the retailer and not through the email service. Yet it works fine if I use Microsoft Edge for the same procedure in the same email or even if I go to the retailer's webpage directly rather than through an email. Same results, Edge works fine, Firefox doesn't work. Help me out here please.

I have no idea what happened but before the tabs started acting crazy, when I opened FireFox it was very, very small print that I had to resize with the 'Control, mouse up' move.

There was a problem with the computer, so we initialized Windows. When I finished the initialization and tried to log in to my Firefox account, I was asked to authenticate my email. However, the password to verify my email (I use Protonmail) is randomly generated and stored in my Firefox account and I cannot verify it. What should I do?

I am Japanese and I am typing this text using a translation tool. Sorry if the text is strange.

Lastpass has had major data breaches in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and two in 2022.

Today I got a recommendation to install LastPass. I was a bit surprised. LP (logmein, gotomypc) has a history of databreaches. I found reports in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, and two in 2022.

People without a lock on the door know they have no security. Putting on a lock that is not effective only gives people a false sense of security and may even increase the threat.

I love many of the add-ons. I know I can't rely on anyone to make sure they are all secure, but I hope such well-publicized problems will result in a review.

The billions lost and hundreds of hours spent by people each year with passwords in our fight with hackers is a true drain and a danger. Password programs have been the only way for individuals to survive. Their standards for security must be even higher than others. LastPass has not met the standard for a high level of security...or even a low level.]

LastPass has one reason for existing--keeping our passwords safe and secure. In the light of their failure, it's time to stop recommending them. It undermines the credibility of Mozilla and Firefox.

For the past month or so, I've been experiencing frequent Firefox crashes.

They most often happen when I've just opened a page in a new tab, it's painted, and I make the first input trying to interact with it: all tabs will stay rendered and viewable, but otherwise unresponsive. But now they're also happening when Firefox is in the background. The frequency is about once or twice per day, with heavy use.

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (jammy) with all packages up to date, the linux-oem-22.04 kernel package (currently 5.17.0-1025-oem), and Firefox installed via snap. The crash reports contain full details, of course, but the only thing I can think of that's especially "unusual" is that the 1Password extension has been misbehaving for a while (but it's been since long before these crashes began).

My system has 64GB of RAM, which is rarely more than 15% in use.

The only maybe-relevant Bugzilla bug I've found so far is: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1685642

Crash report IDs: bp-a3753677-5688-4033-a07a-118d80230103 bp-62703edd-f2a4-43c6-99bc-534090230103 bp-2d3d4bc5-a6d5-4c40-97dc-4243d0230103 bp-12fde33c-d116-4260-bd03-2f20c0230103 bp-b9cd92ec-9ba2-48ce-9865-24f480230103 bp-2b3e7f19-b849-4925-b615-c91f80230103 bp-2e8f2547-1c48-4108-b1ad-08fc70230103 bp-81d5c506-56d3-44fc-960c-6dd290230103 bp-2b743b56-63e8-4af8-9fc2-4d22b0230103 bp-a22058c8-6a01-4fd6-962f-2ad060230103 bp-8c295841-be88-4c11-a2c4-03e840221231 bp-dd558f7e-07a6-403a-89e2-c77bc0221231 bp-f3fad425-96ac-49dc-8761-584ef0221231 bp-6d0cd222-79f1-4018-bfed-4e3b10221231 bp-3737010b-6643-498a-ae2d-058b00221231 bp-e5075232-14c2-4c2e-8eb5-485bf0221231 bp-63dd2f58-9999-4dbd-a72f-e7a520221231 bp-771344f7-1c3c-4b93-99ed-24fb10221231 bp-5608cb88-4378-4cb7-b1c9-dd7630221231 bp-b3f2900f-9003-4497-9ba9-5678f0221228 bp-05c9684b-ec01-4281-8418-722cb0221224 bp-5e2a5302-5b3f-4c49-8441-bdfc00221212 bp-1464836e-5cff-447b-a6f1-5ad9f0221120 bp-e96f8a88-9499-4d84-87aa-559a90221120
