Hi I am currently having to rebuild Windows from scratch (again!) and can't work out how to set my Bookmark folder to duplicate th Windows 'Favorites' folder location. The reason for this is due to Windows forcing Edge to link to its apps despite not being the default program/app set as well as the legacy location from booting into different environments. I have tried the recommended add-ons but none of them just allow me to set the new location, which in my case is simply 'D:\Favorites'. I have done this with my old install (the one I'm using now) but want to set the same folder in my new install. Does anyone know of any settings, registry fix or simple change I might have applied to the old install. Thanks in advance

When I restarted Firefox after a freeze, I did NOT get the familiar message that lets me choose to restore all windows. When opened, Firefox showed only ONE window (the one I was working in when it froze up). The Firefox menu (upper right corner) does NOT display a Restore Previous Session option. It's as if all the windows open in my last session never existed. Is there any way I can still reopen them now?

As with others I can't find my old profile. I renamed it long ago as my primary profile and have updated firefox many times since. On Sat 8/14 I updated Sahara and my profile won't reload, instead I'm getting a window claiming the profile is too old. I've been through and through the FAQs and am not enough of a successful user to get to the right folder to find a usable profile with my data still in tact. about:profiles, where I usually go now had 43 profiles in it including my previously renamed profile but that doesn't help. I refreshed ff without success. I tried to find help in the many profiles help pages that said click on this, copy this, click on the profile tab, go up one level and turn left and you lost me. Can anybody help me find my usable profile and simply explain how do I re-initiate it? Thanks.

So here is my issue. I have about 500 tabs open on my Firefox browser. Whenever I need to restart my computer, I close my session, restart, reopen Firefox and it loads my entire session no problem. The neat thing about this is that when I do this, the tab title (along with the website icon) is preserved but the actual page only reloads when I switch to that tab. For example, imagine I have a YouTube video titled "Programming in Python", the tab would say "Programming in Python - YouTube" with the YouTube logo to the left of the title. There is definitely some kind of cache magic going on because say if that video was taken down on YouTube, the title would still be preserved until I switch to that tab. In my latest reloaded session, I noticed that tabs #250-500 failed to load the tab title and instead show the website URL with the icon I attached below. Is there any way to reload these tab titles without actually refreshing the page manually one by one (kinda like how Firefox does it on startup)? This is kinda how I navigate and it isn't helpful seeing just a URL.

A message has come up saying that an update is ready and should be downloaded.
Question: Will I lose the websites/tabs that are on the top bar or will they all be reloaded automatically?
Many thanks

I'm using FF on Linux FC 30. If I download a file, let's say it's an RPM file it gives I get a dialog that says "You have chosen to open: Someprogram-1.2.3.rpm. What should Firefox do with this file Open with Apper Installer (default)"
If I click OK, nothing seems to happen. The "Apper" program does not open. Similarly, if I download a PDF, a PDF viewer does not open either. I'm not sure why it offers to open with that if it does not actually do it."
Instead, I have to click on the Downloads arrow, open the containing folder, right click on the file in a file explorer and have it open that application. Or, find wherever FF decided to put the file, currently FF favors /tmp/mozilla_my_id_0 and execute the program in a terminal.
I'd like to have FF actually do what it offered to do. I like to have it ask first. That part is good. But I want it to actually run the program. Apper exists on my system, and I have PDF viewers as well.
Secondly, I want to have FF download files in the normal Downloads folder and not some place off /tmp.
How can both things be fixed?
Thanks, Ben

I have been using Firefox ESR 52.9.0 (32bit) on my Windows XP computer for some time now and a while back there was a problem with security certificates. They issued a special patch for the ESR version so we could continue to use Firefox. It would appear that this problem has somehow reappeared. Can we please get a patch once again to clear up this issue.
Thanks

I have had the same stupid problem for 3 years. I lose power to my MAC and I have to redo all the stuff on Firefox. I lose homepage, BookmarksI really want to speak to a voice on the phone so I can explain it but that is not an option on the website. I WANT TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME!!!!! I have tried a couple of the self solutions and I have the same problem. I am about to just delete this POS and go back to POS Safari. Firefox works wonderful when it is up and running but if my machine loses power or I reboot, Firefox gets wrapped around the axel and I can't get my Bookmarks/favorites back. Also, LASTPASS used to have a small icon in the upper right part of my homepage......now that is gone. I hope to here back from you.

My Firefox is currently on version 69.0. I am trying to update it by going to Firefox -> About Firefox. When I click about Firefox, the window opens displaying my current version. From the articles about updates I read, it should start automatically updating, but nothing happens. I click the "Restart to Update Firefox" button, and my Firefox session is restarted but I am still on version 69.0. I do not see any other way online to go about updating Firefox other than this route, so I am not sure what to do. Any thoughts? Thank you!

I dual booted Ubuntu 19.10 in my laptop alongside Windows 10. The videos in my Firefox browser (on Ubuntu) lags in between, it plays smoothly and after sometime it lags. The lagging is not so worse, but still it disturbs me from watching the video. If I play the same video in Windows in Firefox the video plays well. The main problem is with the site ' www.geeksforgeeks.org ' in Ubuntu (Linux) and the same site plays well in Windows Firefox. I have tried fixes like : 1) 'set media.benchmark.vp9.fps = 0' 2) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1245735 but they didn't work.
