It seems that my preferred width of the browser window on desktop is so narrow that some websites (not all!) seem to think I'm on a mobile device. And so they serve me the "mobile-friendly" version of the website instead of the standard desktop version. I can tell it's a "responsive design" thing because if I widen my browser window, the desktop-friendly version automatically appears.

Is there a way to disable this so that all websites are forced to always serve the desktop version of the website?

I have forgot my password to my account and also lost the 2FA codes. Since I have no longer access my account, I want Firefox to delete my account. I used a backup email on that account. I tried to open a new Firefox account with that backup account, but I wasn't allowed to create a new account with that backup email address.

I can provide you my national ID,passport and other ID cards to prove that I am the real owner of the account.

You can even video call me if you want but please delete my account so that I can open a new account with those emails.

Hi, My default homepage URL is set to always open in a specific container. I only have a single page in my home page settings (not opening multiple on launch)

Just recently (assume since the last update to 84.0.1), when launching the browser the homepage is no longer opening in the specific container.

When I refresh the home page that launches with the browser, it refreshes and launches into the designated container as expected.

I there some setting that could effect this or this is bug?

Thanks

hello, I would like to know if there is a way for the answers to a search on the net not to mention some sites, for example if I am looking for "car" I don't want the 'renault' sites to appear in the answers?

I clicked on a video in YouTube that I didn't want to have in my history. After navigating to the History sidebar, I right clicked it and clicked on "Forget About This Site". This was a mistake, apparently I needed to click on "Delete Page" instead, now my long rich history with YouTube is gone, but that's beside the point.

Now even after accessing the site numerous times, the address bar refuses to autofill after I press a 'y', and it doesn't come up on the Top Sites in the homepage, like it was blacklisted somehow. The autofill works with other sites. I have no other website starting with 'y' which makes it search for 'y' in the search engine when I press enter. 'browser.urlbar.autoFill' is set to 'true'.

Whenever I clear cache, exit firefox and then reopen, there is always a different amount of data in 'cached web content', like 55kb, or 27kb etc.

Why is this? :)

I wondered if it was the firefox homepage storing data in the cache, but when I clear cache, and then open another firefox homepage, it shows 0kb.

Hey guys,

Just switched over to Mac, trying to work out how to set it so that when you click 'Open File' rather than 'Save File' it only downloads a temporary file and opens it for you (like it does in Windows and like it's meant to do as the support pages have said) however on my laptop it now saves properly to the Downloads folder and stays there after I close the file rather than deleting it - does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

There is no shortage of privacy protection plugins, which I consider to be a good thing However, Firefox also has tracking protection on board itself. This leaves me wondering if and how much overlap there is between these privacy protection plugins and Firefox tracking protection and if having both or multiple of these enabled, isn't simply overkill?

To illustrate, I have tracking protection set to strict. In addition, I use EFF Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, NoScript and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials.

If I have Firefox tracking protection set to strict, do I still need Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials? These seem to cover the same functionality but one may be better than the other. How do I know which to choose? (NoScript is more a security feature, so that's another matter).

When posting or reblogging on Tumblr, I receive the following error message: "Error loading forms / Hmm. This doesn't seem to be working. Please try again?"

It's working normally on Safari on the same machine, so it seems to just be Firefox. I've tried disabling various plugins, but I can't tell what's up.

The "Inbox" page also has some of its functionality hidden. (The top right navigation has disappeared, and the buttons to answer "asks" have disappeared.)

Thanks so much, friends!

Firefox Updates regularily break SAP Employee Self-Service functionality on all company laptops - how to prevent firefox to update or rollback updates?

Firefox Updates regularily break the complete SAP Employee Self-Service (ESS) functionality on all company laptops - how to prevent Firefox to update or rollback updates? Best solution would be one that each employee can do without admin rights! Thanks & Kind regards!

Background Info: Since Firefox does not support SAP apps eg. Employee Self Service (ESS) we need to use IE for that. But unfortunately Firefox Updates even destroy IE functionality for SAP ESS. What happen is, that IE crashes and Firefox is opened! (Eventhough firefox is not standard browser! It's chrome!) Only solution is to completely remove all firefox installations company wide from all employee laptops! Until then, we have after each (enforced) firefox update enormous traffic on our first level support hotline.

Thus: How can Firefox Updates be permanently prevented? Or how can Firefox Updates be reversed (without Admin rights) by enduser without IT Support!?

With concerns about supply chain security, I would like the ability to ensure that the file download matches a recognized checksum.

Downloading from: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/78.6.1/releasenotes/ yields checksum SHA256 55249C4861FE521CB32D72785481A146B64812AF2ECE7341FAAA5C79ABC0F395

This does not match any of the checksums available at: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/78.6.1esr/

Best practice would be to publish the official checksum along with the release notes.

Is there another way to close the loop on this?

Hello, I update Wordpress pages on downtownlanguages.org. The past couple of days, the site's top menu bar covers up the page headings on all the pages and does not scroll with the rest of the page. I don't know if this is a Firefox problem or a Wordpress problem. The pages display correctly in MS Edge and on my iPad. To my knowledge, I've done nothing in WordPress to cause this to happen. I have refreshed Firefox and cleared startup cache but it did not resolve the problem. Please help. Thank you! See https://downtownlanguage.org/donate for an example.
