I want to prevent pop ups, pop unders, etc. Literally not one answer was appropriate, so I am rephrasing the question. I want firefox to simply not even acknowledge the request to open ANY new window or tab from the html code, website, server etc. I don't even want it to alert me that is hasn't acknowledged the request to open a new window or tab. I don't EVER want to see a firefox window or tab or instance that I haven't directly caused via mouse or keyboard input, and I want it to be COMPLETELY transparent. How do I do that? (I don't care if the answer is long or technical.)

I'd like to know how to change the behaviour of the "Click to play" warning, or how to disable it. I have Firefox 27 (beta update channel, the version previous to RC1). I configured the Flash plugin to "ask every time" and "plugins.click_to_play" is true by default.

Before installing the latest update, there was a popup warning on the top left, near the address bar (with the "lego brick" icon).

Now, instead, a new bar is inserted directly into the web page content (asking if I want to allow "Adoble Flash" in the page). The result is extremely annoying, because all the webpage content is shifted down every time to make space for the warning bar...

How can I remove the warning bar? I tried to set "plugins.click_to_play" to false and I noticed no changes at all in the browser behaviour.

I downloaded an ebook but turned out it was not what I expected so I deleted it. But after that, I noticed that my search engine and homepage changed. I tried to delete everything I found related to the download I did in the control panel, managed to changed my search engine and homepage back. But whenever I start up Firefox, Awesomeph is homepage though when I click on the homepage icon, Google (which IS my homepage) would start.

I installed a malware software as what's advised on sites dedicated to that problem. Scanned and deleted the 19 threats found, restarted my system but still, Awesomeph is there. What to do?

After I'm on the internet via Mozilla firefox, for approx 5minutes it crashes and I get a message saying Norton stopped anattack by senddatastarscan.info. this is happening repeatedly for two days now. Any help

For months my Firefox home page has included a note that I am not using the latest version, and provides a link to update. When I use the link I'm told "Congratulations, you're using the latest version." Adding insult to injury, not 20 minutes ago I downloaded 27, and the message is still there. Hardly the end of the world, but at this point it's very annoying. How do I eliminate the message?

I made the mistake of going to aurora from the beta channel. Aurora had a low noise in the background, it will go away for a second then come back. I went back to the beta channel and that noise stuck around. I have flash blocked at the moment and still it is there.

Has anyone ran into this before? Any ideas as it is driving me freaking crazy?!? I have no idea what is causing it.

Interesting issue here. Did a total reinstall of firefox and issue remains.

Steps to reproduce:

Go to google.com and search for something

Then, Click a result and after it loads press the back button, back to results.

For me, my SSL search page no longer fully encrypted.

Web developer tools shows no calls to unencrypted content, what gives?

After updating from version 26 to version 27, Firefox will not open under Sandboxie 4.08. My XP task manager indicates that Firefox is running as a process, but not as a running application. I've tried everything and then some, and nothing seems to fix this. I really don't like running un-sandboxed. I've also posted this issue on the Sandboxie forum, and others are having the same problem. I think the problem is with the latest update to Firefox and not Sandboxie since all previous versions of Firefox have worked perfectly under Sandboxie.

I have no x-button on every tab but on the current tab only. (FF 27, WinXP SP3) What I have tried: SafeMode, Reset o FF. browser.tabs.closeButtons is by default "1". I want to have x-button on every tab. Check out this screenshot http://pichoster.net/images/2014/02/05/FireFox.jpg

About 4 weeks ago the fonts on every page I visit using Firefox became pixely (some letters seem bolded, the lines seem low resolution, etc.). I've attempted the following steps to fix with no success:

- Upgraded to FF 27 - Reset to default - Switched off hardware acceleration

The only thing I can think of that might be the culprit is that around the same time I got a new monitor that required a display driver installed on my laptop.

What other trouble shooting steps can I take to help fix the font display while I use my beloved Firefox?

As you can see from the screen shot (http://screencast.com/t/yXNUMkFREA) when I search for a recently viewed item or document, the search preview shows up below but they're empty. You can only see the icons. I'm on the latest version of Firefox (27) and as a longtime Firefox user, this is a way I navigate to find items I need to get to (e.g. Ill search for a Google Doc name and it can easily take me there). It's really frustrating and I have no idea why it's gone. I'm on a MacBook Pro. Any help?

Since upgrading to firefox 27 when trying to access https://www.birtles.org.uk I receive a connection reset or connection interrupted error. I am connecting through a proxy. Firefox 26 works correctly. I have tried on 3 different machines 2 windows and one Mac with the same results.

Often I get a message when I try to go to a website that states"FF is already running, either close FF or restart . Orange FF button is not shown when this message appears?? I'm tired of restarting isn't their a better way??

When I go to a site and try to open something (like a monthly statement, etc.) instead of opening it in pdf so I can read it Firefox makes me download it, save it, and then open it. Then I have to go through the whole find it and delete it routine if I don't want to keep it. Don't know why this started to happen recently, and it does not do it on all sites.

redirsvc is a virus which is not documented on this site. You can google its behavior. It slipped through Norton 360. It lodges in the registry - HK Local Machine. I paid Norton to kill it and they spent well over an hour. After purging the registry items, it persisted. Then they had to "reset" Firefox, they erased my extensions. That seemed to work. I am not blaming the extensions for infecting me, that is just where it lodged. Apparently, redirsvc is a new style virus, very difficult to dislodge and detect. In order to kill redirsvc, both the registry and firefox must be cleaned. I am not asking a question, just reporting this since it appears no where else on mozilla.

This is getting really annoying as i have only just recovered from the various and annoying bugs in V26. I have disabled automatic updating as i'm hacked off about ff not starting up properly and then crashing upon quitting following every single update.

One such bug that surfaced around V26 was that a website (http://www.thecourier.co.uk/) crashes firefox. Just that website and just on my Mac and just on firefox. i cannot replicate the error on Ubuntu or WinXP or the computer of anyone I know with the same version. the website crashes firefox with no plugins or addons active, and it was this that made me install NoScript in the first place - ie to block out a JQuery? script that was causing the crash.

V27 bugs: firefox 27 update is losing my tabs from history after a restart, it remembers the favicons but displays "new tab" in each and shows blank page when clicked on, thus clearing the favicon and history etc. there's nothing in recently closed windows etc.

also, upon each and every restart my skin (Cotton Candy Swirl) is not displayed properly: the title bar shows up in Apple Mac Grey and the bottom bar shows solid pink.

When I: Firefox >> Quit, it hangs (as can be viewed in Mac's error report details). this requires me to open the task manager and force quit.

I have tried running Firefox in safe mode - it still does not ask me where to save my bookmark when adding a new bookmark.
