I have a new laptop on which I have tried to install Firefox several times. It seems to install properly, and connect to web pages, but then nothing displays, it just shows a blank page. I've done all the basic help suggestions, clearing the cache, etc., none of that worked. I keep getting an error message: The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dill was not found. Went to a help page, where it suggested that I go to a Microsoft support site, download and install vc_redist.x64.exe. Did that, it made no difference. I'm trying to get this on a Dell laptop (Inspiron 15 3000), working in Windows 10. Really want to use Firefox as my browser and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

I've spent several hours today trying to fix FireFox slow start up on my system. After start up (about 2 full minutes), everything works normally. The hardware is an ASUS A88xm-A MB, A10-6800K processor, 16G DDR3, runs OS and programs off an SSD. I worked through all the slow startup suggestions, ran memtest (0 Errors, 1 Pass), disabled all add ons, (even the OpenH264 video codec (I use the onboard HDMI, no graphics card)), turned off hardware acceleration, etc. When starting in troubleshoot mode, less than 30 seconds, (acceptable), but I really don't know where to begin with the "More Troubleshooting Information" when I look at the table generated by it. There have been no other problems to date with the system, and the long start-up time began with 20.04 Ubuntu (about a minute), then got worse when I upgraded to 22.04 to try to solve THAT problem. Currently running FF 104.0, and the update page says wait for a distro update if that is how it was installed. I believe 104.0 is the latest Linux 64b version though. All updates to the system are done as soon as I'm notified of them. there have been none since the upgrade a few days ago.

Any suggestions? Gotta get some sleep now... TIA, Dave

I have noticed issues with; when I download an attachment, i.e.graphics file, that the browser closes.

I have my emails configured where Yahoo and gmail available by selecting. Sometimes Yahoo mail will close and Gmail will remain open, Firefox doesn't crash but somehow closes either gmail or yahoo but not both???

Firefox takes a long time to start up and becomes unresponsive frequently. I have tried disabling extensions, clearing cache and cookies, but the problem still persists. What other troubleshooting steps can I try to resolve this issue?

The Facebook cCotainer etension now longer works and stops any access to Facebook on a laptop. I have had to disable to get any access on laptop. As you get access and try to turn the extension back on you are locked out of Facebook.

I am facing problem while browsing my site in private windows i am getting this below error please look into this and update as soon as possible.

I don't think this is an error message, a glitch, or what - Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirection to another page. I get this several times a day now, on perfectly safe sites I've used forever without problem. Sites like my bank, investment companies and adobe login. Less and less is it opening the page when I click Allow. I get a white page with the address still filled out and the Firefox prevented this page blah, blah, blah still there. I've restarted, cleared cookies, and cache, shut off the few add-ons I have, but it didn't help nor did changing config:about blocking true/false. I'm wasting a lot of time trying to find out what is going on. Could someone just tell me what button to push to stop this endless cycle of annoyance. Pretty please. I've been using Firefox for ages, and a month or two ago I began having BSODs on Win 10, while using Firefox. I tried removing add-ons, then clean install, after that Firefox crashes immediately on startup. After changing Browsers to Edge, my BSODs stopped. I'd prefer changing browsers back if possible. My Firefox version is 109.

My Firefox crashes when I attempt to attache a file to gmail. The entire thing freezes. I assume the crash reports were sent because the instructions to submit did not necessarily resemble what I saw.

Yo guys what's up! Been having problems with Firefox for several months now, restarts make no difference. Getting huge CPU drain if I have any Twitch tab running. Above screenshot is in troubleshooting mode (all my addons disabled) and a single twitch tab open. It makes my whole system sluggish especially if I happen to have something a little demanding in addition to the stream open. Chrome does NOT do this at all, much more balanced drain.

Specs:

HP pavilion laptop 16 gb ram core i7 chip bottom of the barrel nvidia mx250 GPU

The other screenshot is a comparison to Chrome. Both have a SINGLE tab open with a twitch stream playing. Firefox is using almost quadruple the resources, AND its in troubleshooting mode.

Hope you guys can help me out, been a long time Firefox user since I was a kid and really don't want to switch browsers.

I am trying to access a personal account through a client portal & every time I try I get his error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR.

I have cleared my cache & every other trouble shooting option available to me. I need to access this client portal asap.

My HP computer is old 2014/15 & is running on Windows 7, does that have anything to do with my issue?

I have tried accessing this client portal on my new smartphone, newer Samsung tablet as well as another newer computer & I keep getting the same message.

Is it the website or my device?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi, HELP!! My browser keeps crashing on sites that I use on a daily. I use office 365 outlook, and teams. Its been getting worse and worse like crashes every 15-20 mins. I've sent the reports but I have not see a patch to fix the issues. Please help otherwise I have to go to another browser.

The RAM of my device is about 4GB, which is not a lot, but the performance of the browser is very correct and fast, but in some cases, when loading pages, the browser freezes for a short moment, this is a bit annoying. The next problem in the web developer version is that the writing indicator is displayed everywhere in the browser, especially on the home page, when you click it, you need to disable this item on the home page. The browser is visible. Finally, the RAM consumption of the device needs to be optimized and slightly reduced

I found a batter way to solve that problem.

You should install or reinstall one of the packages xdg-desktop-portal* List them on Ubuntu with:

 ```apt list | grep desktop-portal```

And try to install:

 ```sudo apt-get install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome```

or reinstall:

 ```sudo apt-get --reinstall install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome```

It seems you need to rerun DBus to apply changes, but I just restarted my PC.

If xdg-desktop-portal-gnome won't help then try to install/reinstall xdg-desktop-portal-gtk and xdg-desktop-portal.

My Firefox keeps doing weird glitches and I recently updated to a Windows 11 laptop, instead of using a windows 10 one, and both have had the same issue with this glitch.

I'm unsure what to do- and as shown in the attached screenshot all text has been all messed up and it with all tabs and not just a singular one and I'm unsure what to do besides restart my computer.

I've allowed all stuff so hopefully this can help someone with answering this.
