My system broke during an update. Now I want to import my old Firefox userdata, but everytime I try to use the old data firefox just forces the creation of a new profile?

Is it completely impossible to recover data not created with the same firefox version?

I noticed that FireFox downloaded a Firefox HTML Document called GnT6qZGD with a size of 0KB, during this time I had tabs open from both https://wago.io/weakauras and https://www.curseforge.com/

Scanned it with Bitdefender and it was clean and when editing in notepad it is empty and a blank page when accidentally opening it.

Then completed a full system scan and it come up as clean.

I have 2 questions,

1st, Is this still a bug in Firefox that appears to have been reported before? 2nd Should I be concerned about it?

Every time I open Firefox another blank window opens behind the main Firefox pages . I see it when I close Firefox so have to close that too. There is no URL in the window just a blank page.

I recently have gotten a message about manually updating Firefox on my Windows 11 system. Even after I updated, I then I started getting the same message and also "Failed to check for updates" in the Firefox "about" box and settings page.

I even went about uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it while deleting the Firefox Program Files and user AppData directories. I also checked for a Windows Firewall entry for the program.

Is there something in another directory or registry setting I need to delete or change? Or does Firefox use a different program for updating that needs a firewall rule?

Firefox on my pc loads Ebay.com with Chinese characters, not English.

This ONLY happens on PC (mobile phone is fine, same firefox browser) only with firefox (Duck Duck Go on my pc works fine) and ONLY when opening Ebay.

Problem started 4/29. I have done: computer update/restart, firefox update/restart, clear cache in firefox

Due to repeated issues over a week, I uninstalled Firefox days ago. Tried to Reinstall it repeatedly on same device several times. It was working before..BUT it keeps showing its downloaded on Settings but Firefox download page keeps showing "DOWNLOAD" Tried several times. Not my computer. Nothing works to resolve it.. Hello. I use youtube website as music player quite often (without premium) and play my favorite list of songs. Meantime, when Google started meddling with youtube due to their new offer as youtube premium I met two most annoying issues like "are You still watching" dialog and the behaviour where youtube just cleared "repeat list" function without my consent. Both issues was resolved with java scriplets I took from community.

Now I run into third issue but not sure how to diagnose it. If Firefox is in the background, or tab with youtube has no focus the playlists stops from time to time. The moment it stops is when next video should start playing. When browsing on different tab, I can see on Youtube tab that title of the video has changed (to the next video) and even the song started (for 1-2 seconds) then video pauses and word "playing" disappears from tab (normally there should be title on tab and "playing" word under title). It is not "are You still watching" dialog issue because if I move mouse cursor on youtube tab (even without setting focus on it) the player will continue - till next song.

The issue doesn't appear if youtube tab is active. I can't use developer tools in firefox because can't debugging website when tab of the site is not active (at least I don't know how). I tried to find solution with community but with no success. I allowed youtube to play video and sound always without exception in firefox preferences but it is not the solution.

Any tips?

I want to delete firefox logins info and to make sure passwords and logins are never stored. I go to passwords, open up menu, and the "remove all passwords" choice is greyed out. How can I get that choice it be valid and to impliment that operation?? And to never have these stored??

So I'm having issues playing 4K videos fully on one YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ClearviewDriving

For some reason anything above 1080p gives me bad stuttering but on other channels videos don't stutter or freeze when playing 1440p or 4K quality.

Firefox is updated, I don't use Extensions other than Ad Blocker and I have that off on YouTube anyway. Seems strange that it'd only affect one specific channel.

I have a very good gaming PC too so the hardware isn't the issue.

Jack here. I am a non-tech person and don't know the technicalities behind this issue. I have a Digital Media Website which loads and works quite fine when opened in other browsers but the site is loading very slowly in Mozilla and when it does load it has breakages.

Can anyone please tell me what the issue might be and how to fix it?

I just bought a new laptop and downloaded Firefox as I have used it for years. Although I imported my passwords and they are correct it will not log in to sites I need for work. It isn't telling me I have the wrong pw or id, it just does nothing.

I have updated windows, I have uninstalled and reinstalled....I don't know what else to do...any suggestions?

How do I turn off those annoying "update available" notifications/reminders that keep popping up? I've gone into Settings, and in the Updates section firefox only let's me select auto updates or check for updates. I searched online but couldn't seem to find anything about how to disable the notifications all together with the newer version of FF. It's driving me crazy, thinking of switching browsers because of this. Thanks in advance!

My provider has deleted my email account without prior notification. I have no second email adress registered, and also no access to my old email adress.

How can I change my primary email adress now?

I'd like to be able to open a link in private mode by holding down some modifier key, then clicking on the link. There are many times that I want to open a link in private mode, and a keypress + click would be the quickest way to do it given that one hand typically remains at the keyboard while I use the mouse/trackpad.

I've even added a toolbar button to open a new private browsing window, then dragged and dropped a link onto the button, but that gets a circle with slash icon and nothing more.

Others have asked this question, so, to be clear, none of the following address my question: copying the link then opening the private browsing window & pasting the link, using a customized shortcut/bookmark, opening Firefox in private mode via command line, right-clicking the link then selecting "Open link in new private window".

My primary/default browser is Firefox on Sonoma 14.4.1, and recently I'm unable to use the inputs of my audio interface for google hangouts. The relevant output is correct, and my system audio would be the same.

Dear All

We have recently found out that Firefox doesn't sync with Google My Business listings as when you search for “Saffery Geneva” on Firefox it brings up “Saffery Champness SA”, while on Google it correctly appears as Saffery (Suisse) SA as per attached print screen.

Any idea why Firefox is not syncing with Google with respect to this listing?
