After updating my mac, Firefox stopped working so I deleted it and reinstalled. But now when I try to open it, it says "A copy of Firefox is already open. I've done a lot of trial and error. Firefox has no issue until I log into my google account, usually for youtube. The moment I do it starts a memory leak that slowly builds. Around 1.6GB is when it starts having problems that affect my computer. Restarting firefox solves this until I log back into google. I've tested for days not logging in with zero memory build up until I log in and it immediately starts to climb.

When I print from Chrome or Brave browsers from our local online newpaper app, I get one print dialog with the item I've asked to print shown in the preview. Perfect. When I print from Firefox I get the same thing, but on top of that is another print dialog previewing a blank page that I have to get rid of before I can get to the actual print dialog I want.

So I have to "cancel" the bogus, top dialog that wants to print a blank page, and then the print dialog that I want is available.

Obviously I want to get rid of the first print dialog that wants to print a blank page.

I've gone through the Mozilla "Fix printing problems in Firefox" page, which includes taking all statements with arguments starting with "print_" out of prefs.js in my profile, and that didn't help at all. Exactly the same extra print dialog after doing that.

So I really have no idea why Firefox is doing this when I ask it to print, any ideas how to troubleshoot or fix?

Thanks!

Hi,

I like to work with side-by-side Firefox windows, with one of the windows being far slimmer (horizontally) than the other. Since I updated to Firefox 74.0 today, I can't resize the windows as I like to do. I can resize them, but it's like there's a minimum fixed size to what I can resize it to and then it locks and doesn't go any slimmer from there (maybe so the browser controls don't overlap?). That fixed size is far too big for my use case, i.e. I absolutely need it slimmer. I'm not entirely sure if the previous Firefox version contained a fixed minimum size, but if it did, it was much smaller (it allowed controls to overlap, which wasn't a problem for me)

Is there a setting that I can change in Firefox 74 so that I can make the windows as slim as I require again?

I have no idea what state is on file as being my state of residence (I move a lot for a civilian), but I've lived at this address for the last three or four years and never had any issue with logging in to my firefox account before. I have plenty of trouble with my location WITHIN the state (Oklahoma), because apparently the only cities that exist in the state are OKC and Tulsa /eyeroll, but I've never had an issue with the state itself being misidentified. I could understand if a VPN was causing the issue, but I'm not using a VPN (I know, I probably should, but imagine the login issue THEN! lol). Thanks in advance for any help.

More details should be provided please, not just a generic "Secure Connection Failed" error page with a generic link to the generic https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-connection-failed-did-not-connect page. I'm sure the information there is well-meaning, but it will never be useful in diagnosing a specific problem if you obfuscate the details of the error from the user with bland, generic error pages and/or messages.

After using Firefox for some time (from 10 to 20 minutes, usually), it simply refuses to open any new tabs, while all that were open previously continue to work normally. Click on "+" sign next to the last open tab simply produces no reaction, and the same is with "Open Link in the New Tab" command from the right-click menu. When restarted, problem disappears, just to reoccur a few minutes latter. This has started to happen about a month ago, all of the sudden. Has anyone experienced something similar? I'm on Win7, using the latest version of Firefox. I have tried to start Firefox with all the plug-ins disabled - nothing has changed. Thanks in advance!

FF 74.0 on Windows 10. I visited a local university (Pepperdine U) 2 weeks ago and accidentally hit their WiFi sign-on page: https://logon.pepperdine.edu/cas/login?TARGET=https%3a%2f%2fsso.pepperdine.edu%2fcloudapps%2flogin.aspx

I never signed into their network, the computer is NOT Pepperdine's, has never been touched by their IT staff, and has nothing to do with them. Ever since my visit, any attempt to sign into a Google account via Firefox (and ONLY via Firefox) always takes my to that WiFI login page. I've tried going to "https://accounts.google.com", clicking the "Sign-in" button on the main Google search page, or navigating to "gmail.com". Everything works perfectly fine on any other browser (Chrome, Edge), and I can get to gmail if I open it in a Private Window in Firefox. I've tried:

1) setting network.dnsCacheExpiration to "0", 2) I've rebooted the PC and restarted Firebox many times (and I was in Pepperdine over 2 weeks ago). 3) I've nuked all cookies for both Pepperdine and Google. 4) nslookup indicates that the correct IP is returned form the expected DNS server if i do a lookup manually. 5) There is nothing interesting in the hosts file in Windows.

What do I need to clear out to stop this annoying issue?

Firefox 74.0 MAC OS Catalina and High Sierra. Been using it for years to access the VPN of my employer. In the last 2 weeks, none of the links on company website work. The home page loads fine, but none of the links there work anymore. Safari/IE/Chrome still work OK. Has there been a change that explains this?
