Starting about 02/11/2020, links in emails take me to a blank page and FireFox stops working. Must close FireFox.

I have neither added nor updated any add-ons.

I disabled all add-ons with no change.

Under Performance, I unchecked " Use recommended performance settings" and 'Use hardware acceleration when available". No change.

The only way a link works is if I have (basic) FireFox already running.

I have reversed the above changes and await HELP.

I've changed the settings found in this thread to remove the suggestions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1283813

I also want to revert the stupid focus effect on the search bar. This is a classic case of "don't fix what isn't broken". I'd love to know if the people making these decisions at Mozilla actually use their product. From my experience in large orgs with product owners, I'd bet my entire paycheck that they don't.

Ever since your last two upgrades to Firefox, I am unable to get to many of my regular sites that are quite legitimate such as PBS, and others. I get blocked from the page with the following message: "Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for (name of site). The certificate is only valid for *.t.en25.com. Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN. The error messages also says that these errors have been reported to help Mozilla identify and block malicious sites." I need to know how to turn this off or at least please send a new update correcting this error. In the meantime I'll be using the Opera Browser which does not have these problems

Shift+Delete no longer works to remove these erroneous results. I've never heard of, used, visited, or wanted to visit "http://nycsubway.org/" or anything related to it, but now firefox's "awesome" bar sends me there instead of Netflix, which I use daily. I've turned off all the random suggestions for the address bar but these random, wrong, ads keep popping up. If I've never used it, and I'm not searching for it, putting it there must mean "http://nycsubway.org/" has paid you to be an annoyance in or lives. Or why else would you do this?!

Firefox is beginning to become more of an annoyance than it is worth - most of the reason for this is the continual string of updates, messages, click bars and pop ups it shows on start up.

No these are not spam or bad add ins, they are programmed interruptions inherent to FF.

Users of FF want to get on and do things. Having to close windows with news about the latest update (and there are soooo many updates), or news that the opml feed is now on your desktop (another thing to waste time attending to) or messages about privacy or messages about syncing pages and settings or pop up messages about how FF is private etc are just plain annoying.

It is getting to the point where I expect to wait longer for FF to start and then have to wade through cruft, than it takes to boot the entire Windows 10 OS and deal with the Ms cruft on the log in screens.

If people want to learn, then they will look stuff up. So seriously - stop popping up tabs, notices, messages, dialog boxes and other cruft. Let the users just get on with using FF rather than putting up with cruft about using FF.

FF is now officially slower to start than every other browser we have and slower than me booting an entire windows 10 pc - all because of continuous updates which don't seem to do anything for me - or most users. oh sure, you can say its for security but if you are patching security holes as regularly as you are updating FF then there is something terribly wrong in your programming standards and coding methodologies - not to mention test process.

Its a trend to tell people about your product - but its one that annoys users. We just want to get on with using whatever - so please get out of our way and let us just use the product.

I like FF - but I liker it a lot less than I used to as its now annoying the crud out of me almost every day.

My 10c worth.

Once again, we have a new release (74.0). Once again, the developers who believe themselves to be gods do not think users should be allowed to set Firefox to allow Flash on specific sites without asking EVERY SESSION, somehow believing that inconveniencing the users is somehow going to force website admins to move away from Flash before the announced deprecation at the END of the year.

Now one of my daily-visited sites (the one for Daily Jumble) will not wait for me to enable Flash, and when I do enable it I then have to refresh the page to make it work. It is obvious that if what I have been asking for all along -- being able to tell Firefox to enable Flash always FOR THIS SITE ONLY -- would alleviate the problem, but since the gods cannot see through the eyes of the users, I am now further inconvenienced by their decision.

I maintain that they moved too quickly and too drastically to implement this change, and I have no reason to believe posting this will make any difference, but I again want them to know that instead of Firefox being the most user-friendly browser in the world (as it USED to be) it now has enough user-UNfriendliness to be as despised as Internet Explorer was.

I do not believe it to be an unreasonable request to allow this, because they could simply put that functionality in, then take it out along with all Flash support in the first release of 2021. But they think they know better. Sorry, guys, but you DO NOT.

Hours and hours wasted trying to stop floating videos, pop-unders and overlays. DO NOT tell me to do about:config ! I did it all through exhaustive research. No effect. The solutions are all over the place and VERY repetitious. Every permutation of suggested FF fixes have been tried. Am a very savvy Windows user... It goes round and round and round and round and round in circles...

Daily I am plagued by floating videos, pop-unders and overlays. It never ends. Once again -- DO NOT tell me to do any more about:config -- it has all been tied an tested. All the settings are as suggested...

Drag and drop will not work in Firefox but works in all other browsers I have installed. Tried in safe mode but it still won't work. This is getting ridiculous now as there are so many things that you can't now do in Firefox that it's becoming useless ... you HAVE to give users some room to set their own restrictions otherwise the paranoia will turn the browser into a worthless piece of junk

WTF. I'm having an issue with your software and trying to get to your support bulletin board and all it does is take me round and round through the same set of menus giving me a bunch of pre-written articles. Stop with this shit. I want to ask a question, not read your stupid articles that don't apply. This is your lazy attempt to avoid having to answer people. You mask it under the idea that these "articles" will discuss common issue and how to fix them, but all it really does is distract people to the point that they give up.

I am having a problem with my bookmarks. I am using Firefox 74. If I bookmark a page it used to add it to my Bookmarks drop down. Sometime ago it stopped working. Now it only shows Bookmarks under "Recent Bookmarks" and they drop off the menu after I think 10 bookmarks.

I can still find them when I show "all bookmarks" under the "show all bookmarks" option in the Bookmark drop down menu, but otherwise if I don't immediately drag them from "Recent bookmarks" to an existing Bookmark folder, then they drop off the menu entirely and can only be found when showing all bookmarks.

Is this a holdover from when you guys eliminated showing the file drop down menus by default?

Why isn't this working properly. When I bookmark a page it used to bring up a dialogue box asking me where I'd like to bookmark it. Bring this back.

After the last couple of updates, Firefox now gets stuck when I try to watch a video withing an article on the nytimes.com web site; I just get a little arrow going around in an endless circle. In the past, videos would play o.k.

So in order to view a video, I must copy and paste the link into a Chrome browser, where the video plays immediately.

When I asked the NYTimes web support tech about it, he replied, "Certain browsers have issues supporting the NYT. We recommend using Google Chrome to view the NYT content if possible."

Why does Chrome play videos perfectly and Firefox not at all on this important site?

I have no problems with Firefox playing videos at other sites.

Here's an example page. No show with Firefox, o.k. with Chrome.

This may seem like a dumb question, but here goes: If a person has hacked firefox browser, will that let them see one's browsing history? Websites, email questions? i have changed my firefox password, and I'm pretty good at changing other often-used passwords, and good at creating difficult nonsensical passwords. But I have had my email hacked etc. like many people in the world.

I received a spoof email, the first I ever saw from my email to me, on Oct 25. That is not unusual that people do that, but the email had information that only someone who would have seen recent browsing. I just want to be safe as possible. What settings can I use in options that will cut down on tihs? Because today, I saw two more spoof emails (using my email) It was not from my email -- it was missing information -- but still annoying). thanks, ginahere

And to add insult to injury, it appears where "Open Link in New Window" used to be. I don't use tabbed browsing. Period. I like to hover over the taskbar and let Windows tell me that browser window's URL.

If it can't be suppressed -- because each Firefox user doesn't really know _their_ own preferences -- why not place the "Container Tabs" right-click entry, below "Open Link in New Private Window"? Then users desiring to use such *new* functionality, will learn (muscle-memory don'cha know) it as they go.

Every time y'all force me after an update to figure out how to resume using Firefox in the matter to which I'm accustomed, I move one step closer to shifting to Chrome entirely. (I still use Firefox to access YouTube, because up until several days ago, I was able to download content with a Firefox add-on.)

BTW. I tried to upload a screenshot of the image. The progress icon has been turning for minutes ... It might work on Chrome, but the image upload functionality is broken with version 63.0.1 (x64).

Your "Pocket" ... your "Bookshelf" icon ... etc. ... I wish y'all would let me suppress the display the meg@Kewl new stuff, which I never use.
