System Details: Ubuntu 18.04, Firefox 65 Firefox doesn't play any sound on any website, other apps play. Firefox does show the speaker icon on the tab that is playing video/audio

I have tried https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues

I think i have this problem from the day i connected my PC to TV through HDMI and played a video on firefox - Maybe firefox is still using the wrong device(HDMI TV)(I have checked Ubuntu Sound Output is set to inbuilt speaker not HDMI)

I got a new Dell laptop for Christmas and started using it a couple of weeks ago. Loading Firefox was one of the first actions I took. I have a McAfee subscription so I signed into my McAfee account so I could add it, and got a message asking if I would like to install McAfee Web Boost, an extension that automatically pauses videos unless I tell it to play them. I have a data cap, and this extension would help a lot with my data usage. I told it to install, and and it worked like a charm. My wife asked if I could install it on her computer, too. Here's where it gets weird. It's not in Firefox's list of extensions! Since McAfee loaded it on my computer, I contacted their tech support, asking it how I could load it onto my wife's Firefox browser. I was told the extension was for Chrome and they didn't make one for Firefox. I spent several minutes trying to tell the tech their Web Boost loaded into Firefox, the icon is there among my extensions, and the damn thing works. All the tech could do was load the extension into Chrome, which my wife hadn't uninstalled from her machine. The extension obviously works with Firefox, so how can I get it onto my wife's computer? The version is 1.0.0.25006.

After updating to Firefox 73 (running on Windows 7), no pages will load. Saved tabs have a blank URL bar, opening a new tab and putting in a URL does nothing, no built-in pages (such as the various about: pages, options page, etc.) work, nothing. All basic troubleshooting (including refreshing, reinstallation, and so on) completed with no change.

It started about a week or two ago. I noticed that some icons are being replaced by strange symbols (see screenshot for one example). Pale Moon, IceCat, Waterfox, and Opera do not have this problem. I thought it might be a corrupted system or drive, so I wiped the SSD and reinstalled Linux Mint Cinnamon, but the problem still exists. As you can see by the icons, I have uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere, and Bitdefender Traffic Light installed, but they were working fine before (I disabled all of them, but the problem remained). I would appreciate some hints on how to eliminate this problem.

If it matters, hardware is an HP ProBook with Intel Ivy Bridge processor.

At one point with this new firefox headache I managed to get my tabs on bottom but I had to do a refresh in order to get into my outlook email cause of a glitch.

Now I can't manage to get my tabs to go under the address bar. I did the whole chrome folder with the userchrome.css thing but I still cant get my tabs to go below my address bar.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Its driving me up the wall not being able to have the browser how I want it.

Since the start of Firefox Quantum release, when I returned to Firefox I've had issues with Firefox closing itself randomly on page loads - sometimes it can happen right after I start browser, sometimes once a day, completely random, haven't noticed any patterns.

I've tried to google and look into this forums, I've seen people reporting similar issues (but not lately) and I've tried various fixes suggested here and there, for example:

- Disabling all extensions

- Disabling Hardware Acceleration

- Reseting my profile

- Reinstalling Firefox

- Heck I've even reinstalled my Windows

Not once has the closing triggered crash report.

I don't have any similar issues with any other software on my computer so it must be something Firefox specific. I've monitored my PC resource usage, thought maybe somehow it hogs up all my CPU, RAM or disk and that makes it close - nope, same haeppens even when CPU usage is 20%, RAM 12 of 32GB, disk 0-5% (SSDs) etc.

Honestly I'm out of ideas what to try and if we somebody can't help me find a solution I sadly may have to abandon Firefox once again (which I really would not like to do)

Firefox seems to be having some kind of font problem. The odd fonts appear both in the application and on the web pages. The font on the web pages actually changed (from blocky to big loopy script) since I quit and restarted the application. The menu bar at the top of my screen does not show any words when the application is optn. I have a 2012 MacBook Pro with OS 10.14. Firefox 65.0. I'm also running Sophos (protection) and Dr. Cleaner (helps with memory).

Safari does not have the problem - the application, web pages and top menu bar are normal, but I'd prefer to stick with Firefox.

I want to set a shortcut to open firefox to my outlook web access, and treat it like an application, not a firefox window. I'd like it to not have tabs, and ideally not the url bar, or anything but the outlook window.

Is there a way to do this, and still use firefox normally when I call 'firefox' from the command line.

I'm thinking of something like: 'firefox --single-app https://mail.theserver.com' or 'firefox -P outlook'

Ideally, it would work if it was the first firefox instance or if firefox was already open. I would know if it wasn't already open, so odd behavior for calling it twice is fine by me.

I'm basically trying to replicate the functionality of the surf browser, but with firefox being the actual browser, with all it's features.

I did some extensive googling to rid myself of this stupid "feature", but none of them has brought me any luck. How do I permanently delete this? I don't want it to give me any suggestions, nor do I want it to search. If I wanted to search I'd visit Google. All I want my adress bar to do is exactly nothing, except being there.

I've tried deleting the search engines in tools, or options or whatever it is you call it, one by one but it refuses to let me delete the last one; as though there MUST be an annoying search engine enabled. Please help me remove this, by force if needed.

Thank you.
