I've had an ongoing issue with Firefox now for several months since upgrading to windows 11. When I try to copy text, or images, url's or anything really that is supposed to go to the clipboard, it copies a blank text with no data instead. I can copy text and images from other programs and even paste them into text fields on Firefox but I can't copy from Firefox to anything else and it's frustrating.

I recently got forced into upgrading Outlook in windows and hated it so I started using Thunderbird and surprisingly, I have the exact same issue there as well.

I have tried: Running Firefox in safe mode (Shift + Left Click) Resetting Firefox Switching Back to default themes Disabling hardware acceleration Updating to the latest Beta Build (v126) Running Firefox Developer edition

I really want to get this fixed and working, I don't want to have to switch to another browser =/.

Sorry, posted recently and had then trouble finding out how to respond to help offered (jscher2000)! Noticed that the email version was "no-reply" so I didn't figure that would work! So, I tried to 'cut and paste' my reply (on a smartphone) and I ended up losing even the email reply text so here is a reconstruction. I tried the suggestions in order and the first one didn't have a "Restore previous session" option and the second one had "Recently closed windows" greyed out! And, when I entered "about.support" in the address bar (top rightish), I received a notice that I couldn't reach Google (Remember that I don't currently have internet access on my laptop). So, no joy there either! Can I not just change some current setting to prevent Firefox v 115.9lesr from saving the current 'Windows' and Tabs so that, when I again open Firefox, the previous session 'Windows' and Tabs would be used?!?

After just turning on my computer running Windows 10, I opened Firefox. I open 1 web site and noticed my computer showed a (16) prefix when loading Firefox. I opened the Task Manager and it showed that there were 15 instances of "firefox" running in the background. All showed a UAC Virtulization of "Disabled". But they also showed using 638.8MB of memory. I do not know whether these are necessary files that must run in the background or if the number of files indicates that my system has been hacked and someone else is in my system from outside. Any suggestions as to validity of these files running or how I might confirm that they should be running. I have noticed the number of excessive background files before but the number is never consistent which makes me fear I may have been hacked.

something apparently got corrupted in firefox.. i tried running update and i keep getting failed to update.. i have refreshed.. i have uninstalled and reinstalled ...nothing. i am sure there is a folder or file somewhere that is corrupted and i cannnot find it. because even when i uninstall and reinstall fresh. all my bookmarks are there .. how to i start a TRUE NEW install??

I did an Upgrade to a version of Firefox that would bypass those "Your Browser Is Not Supported" messages that apparently come from "Cloud-flare." I figured [naievely!] that my addons would "port" to the upgrade. They didn't. Is there any way [e.g., a putative backup file, perhaps] that would allow this?

Hi, so on my office pc I work with firefox. I made an account specifically to store every bookmarks etc on that account so when my company updates something I'll always have my bookmarks. Unfortunately somehow since yesterday they all disapeared, and no I'm unable to recover them with the different methods that are foreseen on your website. please advise kr daniel

I have Windows 11 and Firefox 124.0.2. Firefox keeps asking to reinstall. I think it is because I keep getting the message that it fails to check for updates. I don't know if I have installed the Microsoft Firefox or the direct Mozilla Firefox downloaded. Maybe that is the problem, but I am not tech savvy. I have used Firefox for many years and like it. I am also too old (83) to deal with these problems. Help!

I need to be able to use Command-I (for italics) or Command-B (for bold) when using Firefox to write emails and enter information on other websites WITHOUT Firefox opening Page Information or Bookmarks.

This is basic browser functionality! People use browsers to write emails and other online documents, and the hotkey combo for things like Bold and Italics on Macs are Cmd-B and Cmd-I. All such websites I use recognize that as a standard, but Firefox insists on using those same commands for browser features I almost never use and certainly don't need hotkeys for.

All the information I'm finding online on how to fix this is deeply unhelpful and far more complicated than I can handle. Can you please tell me if there is a simple way to stop Firefox from pulling up Page Information and Bookmarks as a result of keyboard commands, or at least for me to change what those commands are so that they don't conflict with industry standard commands for text formatting on the vast majority of websites?

Every once in a while, maybe once or twice a week, I'll press Cmd+L to highlight the address bar, type a URL for a new website, and press enter, and instead of going to that new website Firefox just reloads the current page. It seems that this happens exclusively when the current website is gmail.com. (I might be wrong) I can't remember it happening on any other website. This problem has been occurring for me for the past year at least. Any recommendations?

Everything is gone….bookmarks, passwords, history on my desktop computer and I have no idea why. I opened Firefox and the home page was different and then noticed nothing was the same. I dl Firefox again, no help, same result. I do have my desktop synced to my iPad and laptop but I’m concerned they will import from the desktop and get wiped out. Is there a way to sync from the laptop to the desktop? I am at a complete loss on how to fix this. I do run a backup on this computer. Would that help? Restore point?

I frequently attempt to open news articles or other pages requiring form fill-in but instead get a page that advises me to disable an adblocker. I have no idea what Firefox (yes, up-to-date) uses or how I could set it to allow pop-ups for a particular site. Help!

I am on a brand-new machine and having trouble setting up the Firefox browser.

When I click on a link it opens in a new window with all the tabs ready opened.

How do I open a tab without opening a new window?

Also, how do I set Yahoo.com as my default search engine?

I use Outlook.live.com Hotmail and recently a PopUp Message appears asking me to:

Add outlook.live.com as an application for mailto links.

Microsoft Customer Service said it was not something they initiated and likely a Firefox issue.

It does not seem safe to click on a random link like this without any explanation. Each time I log in, the same message appears.

Could someone please explain what this is for and how I can stop it from popping up each time I log into Hotmail?

when I click on the firefox icon to load it takes me to my home page, but within 20-30 seconds it loads firefox again. it is very frustrating when I.m starting something and firefox loads again taking me back to home page. I have to go down to the bottom and click off the second firefox. I don't know how or why this started. Thanks for any help.

i am setting up a new laptop and trying to import all my current data from my old pc. Nothing is right. It imported alll the shortcuts on my toolbar from years ago. None of these are the current bookmarks from my old pc. ive tried syncing, importing again, nothing works. my bookmarks on my side bar are years old. I dont have ANY of these on my old pc as i deleted them years ago. what the heck is happening and how do i get my new pc browser to look exactly as my old pc looks. This is very frustrating. I have over 500 bookmarks on my sidebar. it looks like every bookmark i have EVER used. This is ridiculous.

Issue summary: I lost over 100 sites listed in the Cookies and Site Data section when I simply removed a few websites in the Enhanced Tracking Protection section.

Under the Browser Privacy section, the two subheads, "Enhanced Tracking Protection" and "Cookies and Site Data" serve two distinct purposes—as I understand. Enhanced Tracking Protection will automatically add the URL of a webpage (that you currently have open) to the Enhanced Tracking Protection screen whenever you disable the shield in the search bar. This will turn off tracking for that website until turn you it back on. You can also manually add websites to the Enhanced Tracking Protection screen if you have mulitples to add. This whitelist will stay active until you delete them or click on the shield to turn it back on.

The Cookies and Site Data section further down, allows you to create a list of sites that you want to BLOCK, ALLOW FOR SESSION, or ALLOW cookies and site data to be used, and retained or not. This differs from the Enhanced Tracking Protection section.

Today, I wanted to delete one of the websites listed in the Enhanced Tracking Protection, and did so manually. But since there were only a couple listed (I rarely add to this screen), I simply clicked on "Remove All Websites" instead of "Remove Website." Unfortunately, when I went down to the Cookies and Site Data list (which I use all the time) to add a new URL today, my entire list was gone! I did not remove or enter anything in the Cookies and Site Data screen today, prior to using the Enhanced Tracking Protection screen.

As you can guess, I am sick because I had over 100 sites listed in the Cookies and Site Data section, and lost them all when I removed the few websites in the Enhanced Tracking Protection section. I don't know why or how this happened, but it is worth noting that I did just update Firefox this morning to vs 125.0.2 (from 124.0.2). My list is gone, but does anyone have a reason why it happened and is there a way to prevent that in the future? Or is it some kind of bug with the latest release or an earlier one. (I haven't opened the Enhanced Tracking Protection screen for a long time, so it could be from any past release.) Sorry I don't have more info than that. Any solutions would be appeciated.
