I upgraded to FF 36.0.4 and was unable to access pages I had before. I installed Flash 17.0.0.134, Quicktime 7.7.6, and latest Shockwave and still unable to view National Weather Service animated radar images. FF says I need plug in but not which one. Flash home page gives same msg where it should tell you which version you have.

When I load multiple PDFs in Firefox to check their content for errors one by one, closing one PDF tab to reveal another PDF tab very often causes plugin-container.exe to crash, which means I have to reload each remaining PDF tab to view the remaining files. This of course defeats the purpose of opening more than one at a time, and actually adds about 5 times as many clicks to the whole process because I have to clear the error and reload each page, then it might happen again or might not. It doesn't happen every time I close a PDF, but about 1 in 4 times.

I realize I have two versions of Acrobat installed (Acrobat 9.5.5 and Reader 11.0.10), and thus two Firefox plugins, but for the record this same thing happens on other computers that just have Reader or just have Acrobat, so it's not an issue of conflicting plugins. Though I did notice you aren't allowed to disable just one or the other -- deactivating one deactivates both. At first it seems not to, but if you reload the plugins page, you'll see both are actually off.

Windows coughs up the following error report when plugin-container.exe crashes, but Firefox says nothing, I guess because the plugin-container is a standalone app:

Appreciate any help available in resolving this crash.

Following the recent update to Firefox 36.0.4, I can not use Flickr, either when logged on to Flickr or when not logged in. When I click on a photograph, instead of having the picture enlarged, I get the following error message: "Error - Something went wrong. Click "OK" to reload the page, or "Cancel" if you want to continue to browse the page (you won't be able to perform any actions, however)."

The problem does not occur using Internet Explorer.

I am on Windows 7 Home Premium, but there were no changes to the computer before the problem with Firefox and Flickr started.

After upgrading to Firefox 36.0.4, it removes all my existing add-on extension. In addition, "noscript" was automatically installed and there is no way to remove it. The "noscript" add-on does not show up in any of the add-on extension for me to disable/remove it.

I even tried adding noscript from the add-on so that the noscript add-on shows up in the firefox extension page so that I could remove it but that does not remove the original noscript that comes with Firefox 36.0.4

Hopefully there is a way for user to remove this and it is not part of Firefox 36.0.4. At least allow user the options of using it or remove it.

I installed a theme in TB and it looked nice, so I decided to try it in FF36.04. It worked, but when I tried to go back to my old theme (Same author), it didn't work and the area at the top went black with just the usual text. I tried to go back to my old theme (same Author) which has worked fine for years. When I went to Add-ons | themes it lists the various themes, but doesn't display pics. If you go to the specific page of the theme (via add-ons) it only shows the author and theme name along with the disable/remove button, no picture or any other details. This is the same for all themes.

I tried adding a new theme at random and it worked and displayed the picture in the themes tab, but the others still don't work. They show different colours if I enable different themes, which I assume is the background. I've tried all the usual things, going back to default (seems OK), tried restarting FF, Rebooting laptop, etc. but nothing gets my old theme back that I've had for years.

Because a new theme worked, I could presumably remove all my old themes and go and download them and install them again, but something went wrong and I'd like to fix whatever it is, rather than perhaps leave a hidden problem.

Any suggestions?

• • • Edit - Just updated to FF37.0.1 and no change. I have noticed though that the theme I tried to add originally (the one when the problem started) is not actually in the list of themes! It did work at first, it was when I went to change back to my old theme that the problem started.

I accepted your latest update for OSx last night. When it competed, my whole Firefox profile was changed: Add-ons gone Preferences changed Customized toolbars stripped to basic Extensions etc., menus, search engines, other toolbar stuff ...

ALL GONE!!! WTF??

When one browses to a website, and it fails to load with the little grey label that says "A plugin is required to play this content", how on earth does one identify WHICH plugin?

I have been using firefox for years and have a system that work perfectly most of the time, and has all the usual suspects already installed. But when I see the message above, I just get frustrated because there is no link to follow, and so far as I can tell, no information at all to lead to a resolution of the issue.

Hi, I had a lot of open tabs so I decided to try using tab groups. As explained in help I was first presented with a single group with all my open tabs in it. I then dragged one tab out to make a group as instructed. I was prompted to name this new group and I did this but I was left with only this group and its single member and nothing else. The rest had disappeared and I can't find them anywhere. Your help in getting my tabs back would be greatly appreciated, Eugene.

an invisible screen. Sometimes, I can remove it using Inspect Element. For example, on YouTube, the block is coded;

After I remove the above, the block is gone. How can I get this to not be there in the first place?

Whenever I try to download something that's sized ~200 Megabytes or higher, it will take multiple (5-10+) tries to download it with success. The download will either fail somewhere in the middle of the process, or it will "finish" faster than it should, and when I try to open it, it ends up corrupt. I've tried restarting/resetting firefox in the past, but the larger downloads still will almost always fail in some way.

One other issue that is somewhat related to this, is that my internet speed always seems to fall. It's supposedly 6 Mbps, but once it reaches ~500KBps, it slowly drops until it is around 156-180KBps. Sometimes, it will return to the higher speed, but only momentarily. I've had this downloading issue with things other than firefox, such as Steam. I power cycle my router on a regular basis, since the speeds often will reach a ludicrous level, so restarting it hasn't really solved this issue.

P.S. I know the difference between a Megabit (Mb) and a Megabyte (MB) and so forth, so I'm not making any typing errors in the speeds, just in case anyone is wondering.

I have 'Paste' and 'Paste & search' in right-click menu when clicked in search box but they do the same thing - just paste what's on clipboard. How to get 'Paste & Search' to paste AND search, like it says?

I refreshed Firefox when it suggested I do so because it was being slow. Silly me for not reading a bit more carefully about what it would remove, and I lost certain settings. Well, I restored tabs on bottom and all that jazz, but it seems that the space above the page itself is limited, and I can't see the tabs (although they are there) unless I remove the bookmarks toolbar or move it up next to the location bar. I do see the tabs when I have the customize-window open, since the bookmarks toolbar is hidden then.

I have tried both restarting Firefox, and my computer - both twice - but it's still the same. It's driving me nuts because I want it back the way I'm used to having it! I tried enclosing two screenshots to show you, but it takes inexplicably long to upload them for some reason, so I hope you understand my problem without them.

On my desktop version of Firefox, the option shown in this screenshot is disabled: http://screencast.com/t/k7YIzNTC9C7. It's not greyed out on my laptop version.

Also, I'm not able to select the "Always Enable" option to always enable notifications from certain websites in my browser on my desktop, but I'm able to do it on my laptop.

Both versions are updated to 36.0.4.

When I tried to launch Firefox this evening, I got an error message saying "Could not find Mozilla runtime" (even though it worked fine this morning). Following a suggestion on the help forum, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. That solved the problem, but now I have no search engine; clicking the spyglass icon gives me nothing, and if I type a search term into the search bar and click the arrow (or hit Enter), nothing happens. When I open the menu and go to Options:Search, there are no search engines listed -- not even a default! When I try to add one, nothing happens. Also, I am unable to do a search from the address bar; when I type or paste a phrase or URL into the address bar and try to search, nothing happens. I am reduced to going to the Google home page and typing in a search term or a URL in order to do any web browsing. Help!

P.S. I am a senior citizen and admittedly ignorant as to anything but basic computer terminology and operation, so please (if possible) keep it simple! :-)

A new problem a few weeks old. When I print from Firefox, the result is a very tiny image printed at the top part of the page. If I change the settings, it chops each page up into 4 pages and prints a quarter on each page. I do not have this problem if I print from IE, so not a printer problem. I have been through every single step in the help topic on printing problems and any step suggested in answer to a forum question. No joy.

I set my homepage to google , to appear on start-up , and cookies to be valid till they expire , press OK , happily surf the net , close firefox , and all my choices have gone out the window. Start with a blank page , I select home and get the firefox star page , and cookies are valid till I close Firefox. Running on 64-bit Windows 7 home premium , update every time Firefox publishes an update , what am I doing wrong , thanks in advance , Ron

Please help firefox . When i am using firefox browser with google , my mouse will continually go into sleep mode, and i have to click on the mouse every 5 seconds. Even typing this question i am constantly clicking the mouse. I have opened programms i have on my desktop and they work fine , but not when working through the browser .
