I have completely separate bookmarks and bookmark toolbars on my work PC and home PC. I do log in on my home PC as to not lose my personal bookmarks and passwords. I accidentally logged into Firefox at work and it merged my bookmarks from my home PC. I logged out of Firefox on the work PC and removed the bookmarks that were imported from my home PC profile. I then tried to make a new account with my work email and login to sync on my work PC but it always says primary email needed and I'm stuck. I did go to about:profiles and add a work profile but that doesn't help me. I need to make a Firefox profile on my work PC with my work email address but the primary email thing gets me. Is there a way to do this with my current work PC bookmarks not lost? Thanks

I have a world icon on tool bar with a red triangle notification. when i press on it it says "Cant connect to application" check your configuration. It does not allow me to open either statement. What is this?

I don't mean "saving" login information for later use, that I do not want to do. What I mean by the login not being retained is that when I log-in to a website like say Amazon, while I'm browsing, I end up having to re-enter my login information pretty much every other time that I switch between pages. I've never had an issue like that with any other browser. Is there some setting I need to adjust to stop that from happening? As I said, I'm not looking to save my passwords and usernames within the browser, I just want to effectively browse a website after logging into it without needing to login every time I move between pages. After the last update, I've been getting news story pop ups in the bottom right corner. How do I shut this off? I have gone into Settings and shut off the various notification and push options that always seem to turn on after updates, but it continues. I never got the pop ups until right after the last update finished.

Using Firefox on desktop, Windows 11. I am a long term Firefox fan/user.

My problem is I cannot find anywhere an easy method to add a shortcut on my Home Screen (which has now been a FF feature for some considerable time).

I am sure there was something available to do this in a prior version some time back. If I search the internet, I only come across articles describing how to do it on Firefox Android.

I know I can manually edit a box on the Home Screen to create what I need.

Sometimes new web sites that I visit appear in the boxes and I can then pin them in place - but the behavior around this is very erratic and unreliable - seems like random chance for an icon to appear on the home screen for a newly visited site. If this was more consistent, I could work with that.

BUT - where is the **intuitive** option??!!

I should be able to right-click on a tab and select "Add to Home Screen".

As simple as that.

Or drag and drop a link, or tab to the home screen - but this just opens the link. I have tried everything obvious that I can think of.

can someone tell me how to reverse this mess? I refreshed in an effort to get my vanished toolbar back. That worked. NOW, nothing works. I have a toolbar that connects to nothing. if you know this is going to break all the time, can't you just write a macro to fix it? I have followed all the instructions I can find, and it still doesn't work. I REALLLLLLLLY don't want to dump firefox, but I need something reliable that works.

Firefox just updated to v100.

However, my menus (e.g., bookmarks, tools, history etc) and popups text has become black, having previously been white. The Menu Bar and Tabs text are still white.

How do I get the White text back on menus and popups please?

I was busy logging in to Firefox (today's update) using my account and wished to store my login info, but the link upon login was a long useless address specific to the post-login screen and related to adding more devices. I opened a new tab but this was, apparently, a sticky login and the new tab was logged in as well. I logged out of that tab with the obvious (hindsight) effect of interrupting the previous tab/s.

Long story short, the immediate effect was the message in the subject line of this mail. Firefox locked my account and I need it unlocked.

The 100 release of Firefox turned half of my desktop web site shortcut icons to PDF icons. Why? And why only some? I have some URL shortcuts that I have no control over the icon (no change icon selection under properties). How do I get these changed back, other than redoing all the changed ones? Thanks, Wayne

When I type a term in the address bar or in any search engine...nothing. Links don't work from open pages. Typing a URL in the address bar doesn't work unless it's a site I've been to previously. It's very frustrating. Everything works fine in Chrome...and I hate Chrome.

So I updated today as requested and now all the sites I had previously checked to allow pop ups etc on are no longer functioning.

What a massive waste of my time

Subtitles in picture-in-picture are doubled. I've tried clearing the cache and restarting the browser but the problem persists. Site in question is Netflix (first image). Does not happen on YouTube (second image).

Hey, I can't add new filetypes to the handlers.json Who had this before? I have already reset Firefox, deleted handlers.json, used safe mode... all without success For example, when I click on a ZIP file, the "save as" menu opens immediately. In the FF settings this filetype does not appear. So I can't define how to handle new files. I have also tried the addon "Content-Type Fixer Content-Type Fixer".

Since about 2 weeks ago many AOL attachments are not opening (pdf.s are but others eg Word not). I have read thru' previous messages on this (in 2021) but turning off enhanced tracking has not fixed it. My attachments open in Edge and Chrome. Like others I would like to stay with Firefox but cannot live with this problem. Help please

On opening many websites I think they've created a new trick - dropping to the bottom of the page so you have to scoll through all pages to get to the top - is there a way of preventing this?
