Beginning this morning almost every web site I access causes my Malwarebytes application (anti-malware) to flag the site as "Malicious" citing the cause to be something in Firefox.exe defined as either gn.symcd.com or ss.symcd.com. I do not wantto just arbitrarily tell Malwarebytes to ignore the flag without understanding what is actually happening.

Thank you.

Here is the popup -

firefox.exe - Entry Point Not Found

"The procedure entry point strnlen could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll"

This happens after I upgraded to FF 50.0 - tried reset and browser cache clean. Still happens 1-3 times per day. I'm able to click through it, but why?

Bug?

Any help appreciated.

TIA :)

I've seen this problem come up regularly, and apparently without fix. I may have a site for developpers to study the symptoms more easily: TECHRADAR.COM. When I select one of the items, after getting into it, if I'm fast enough going back, Firefox works fine. If I peruse the text for a while, I need two/three BACK clicks to go back one page. Works fine with Edge, IE, and Chrome.

So I studied the "differences" between going back immedatly and waiting for a little while, the only thing which changes within the page is the little popup window immediatly under the main picture on the right hand side called:

TECH DEALS, PRIZES AND LATEST NEWS

It asks for an Email address, and underneath, there is a block saying LEARN MORE. As soon as that block as been filled, the page is somewhat "renewed", and a second, sometimes a third entry is created within the BACK history.

I assume the opération of filling the block is understood by Firefox as somesort of a new page, and an entry is created within the BACK history list, which causes the problem.

I assumed, three/four months back, that whattever TECHRADAR did renovating their site was the problem, until I searched Firefox and found out that other people had that problem on site I tried, with mitigated success/failure. The TECHRADAR Home bar contains a choice called "PRO", and this one links to the same items, but the page layout is different, and there is no problem BACK'ing.

Hope it helps, for it IS annoying!

Regards

Firefox only issue - Logitech Performance MX mouse buttons for forward, back, or any other customized buttons are no longer working in Firefox! How to fix this? They work in the OS (Windows 7 Pro) and Chrome just fine and as they USED to in Firefox. Now it's making Firefox nearly useless and very inefficient to interact with. I'd prefer to not use Chrome so please advise on what to check or how to help. Years of IT background here so I can go look at whatever items and test that you would like. Just need this to work again.

I have always been able to save downloads directly on to my desktop. I reset Firefox yesterday and now I don't have that option. When I click "browse" to choose a download place, I choose "desktop" and instead of just saving stuff on to there, it creates a folder called desktop. I don't want a folder I just want the file on there. There isn't the facility to delete what Firefox puts in the box either. I need to remove one of the desktops. Picture attached to hopefully show what I mean. I have the latest version of Firefox - 50.0.1

First time was Monday Morning, I had just opened Yahoo.com when screen was taken over by an "Urgent Firefox Update" screen. At the bottom right of the screen was a small rectangular box stating "opening firefox-patch.js". I hit AltF4 and closed both. Anti virus (Kaspersky) didn't detect the pop up screen. It happened again this morning on Yahoo.com, this time with a different URL. Have attached screen prints. Malwarebytes and Kaspersky didn't find anything on scan completion.

Hi All,

I managed to find one or two posts relevant to my question, however I have tried these settings and they can still be changed by the user.

What I wanted to know is, when going under the FireFox options > Security, is there a way to totally disable the "Remember logins for sites"? I know this can be unticked and have found an option in about:config - signon.rememberSignons;false. All this seems to do is untick it but still allows the user to go in and tick the box again.

I have also found the following preference; signon.autofillForms;false and this helps in someway as when I try to login to services that require a username/password it no longer asks to save the credentials or prompt you with any that it has saved previously when clicking on the box to type it in.

Is there anyway I can totally disable the "Remember logins for sites" option by greying it out or atleast preventing users from ticking it again?

I am running Firefox 50.0.2 on Lubuntu 16.10 (32bit)

The DRM feature with Widevine does not appear to be working.

What I really want is to watch Amazon Video; however, not even the demo videos found on http://demo.castlabs.com/ work. The one without DRM does play, the others do not. It does appear to recognize widevine [DRM: com.widevine.alpha (via Common Encryption)], but the circle just spins and spins.

On Amazon, the circle spins up, then it goes to a "Video unavailable" window. One time I tried it and it played for a second or two and then went to the error window, but usually, it goes straight there.

This is supposed to be working in Firefox 49 and later, right? What's wrong with mine?

Thanks for your help.

Tools/Add-ons/Check for Updates says "No updates found" when Web sites are already complaining that Adobe Flash is out of date and vulnerable. I have to stumble around until I find your site, "https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/", to verify the need and get the update.

This is still a problem in version 50.1.0, at least with Adobe flash. I complained about it first at "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1147255" after I had just updated Firefox to vs. 5.0, but I see that it still hasn't been fixed, so I've started this new thread.

Since I'm normally running in a Standard User account on Window 7 SP1, automatic updates don't work (although Firefox at least notifies me of theirs), so I've set Flash to "Notify." I never get Adobe's notifications, however, for some unknown reason. Anyhow this should really be handled by your built in update checker. What's the problem here?

(Possibly relevant to the lack of automatic notifications only: When my firewall asks me to allow cryptic software names like "6a09411d-5090-4d0b-8b77-0f0e959fb936" to access the Internet, which in this case happened right after a Flash update, I always set it to "Disable All." Perhaps this one is Adobe's Flash update checker, but it is completely unidentified -- Adobe's problem, not yours.)
