Mouse is Logitech MX Master 3 for business. When I scroll on Maps to zoom out or in, it zooms all the way out or in, even when I just do one "scroll click". Scrolling up and down works fine on other websites. Using the scroll wheel for zoom in Google Maps in other browsers (latest versions of Google Chrome, MS Edge, Brave) works as expected/fine, there it only zooms out/in one level.

It's not a new issue, it's been here for a long time, I just haven't bothered doing anything about it.

I have found another old thread about the same issue and the suggestion was to disable hardware accelleration. I tried that and it made the scrolling worse, but same thing happens, just slower and with choppiness. I have tried running troubleshooting mode. Still the same thing.

For several days I have been receiving pop up scams as illustrated in the first image attached. They repeat themselves every few minutes. The second image is what I received on the website listed at the bottom of the pop up - brnok. stoneheartseeker.top.

How do I stop them, please?

Also, is there a legitimate connection between Mozilla Firefox and brnok.stoneheartseeker.top?

I'd much appreciate your help. Nicholas

My Firefox 118.0.1 on Win 10 (all current updates) is creating literally thousands of profile files daily. For example, at this moment there are 3957 profile files with names like

6D89348819C8881868053197CA0754F36784B4BFSF

in the directory C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ywlawdlc.default-release-2\cache2\entries

There are also thousands of other profile files in folders from previous dates.

What is the purpose of this many profile files, and how do I stop their creation in such quantities?

Thanks Dave

A few months ago, an automatic feature in bookmarks quit working. It used to be that when you bookmarked a page you would be prompted about what bookmarks folder you wanted to put it in. That suddenly quit working. Now, after you bookmark a page, you have to go into "Manage Bookmarks" then move it to the folder you want. I can't find a setting that would bring that back. Was this a change that was deliberately made in an update or is it just a glitch that happened somewhere along the line? If that feature was removed, I'd like to know why. It doesn't make sense.

I cannot hear anything from websites, YouTube for example when using FireFox. I have checked the Volume Mixer and there is sound except for FF tab

I can hear perfectly in other browsers so this problem only exists when using Firefox. I have tried all the suggested remedies with no success.

Any suggestions welcome

When you open a link from the sidebar while holding ctrl, firefox opens it in a new tab and switches to it immediately; whereas when you click a link from a webpage with ctrl, it does not switch to the new tab (unless you hold shift as well, or check "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" in settings > general > tabs). I would like if firefox does not automatically switch to opened links from the sidebar (history, bookmark, etc.), when I open them with ctrl? (I know I can hold shift to do that, but I was wondering if there might be a preference in about:config to change the reverse this behaviour for sidebars)

Thanks, Ibr.

When a playlist is loaded and played on YouTube, the next video in the playlist should automatically start playing once the current video reaches its end. This feature is commonly known as autoplay. However, I couldn't get it to work consistently. When the current video is finished, next video is loaded normally but where it should automatically play it doesn't.

I have tried below to address this issue:

  • Autoplay next video works in safe mode.
  • "allow audio and video" in autoplay permissions in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay doesn't help
  • I have also set media.block-autoplay-until-in-foreground preference to false in about:config but didn't help
  • I have tried uninstalling all extensions and it didn't help
  • Tried logging out of youtube, but this didn't seem to help with the issue.
  • Tried "Clear startup cache" in "more troubleshooting information" menu, didn't help
  • Tried "Refresh Firefox" which didn't help

Thank you.

Often, I am unable to submit with Foxfire. Usually, I disable a mess of blocking/privacy settings, and sometimes this works. Not today. The annoying ReCapta pictures/bridges/bicycles/sidewalks never showed. Never. Selecting the submission button failed to cause any kind of a reaction. Finally, had to use Chrome. What gives? Can this be fixed?

Oh, yeah, I'm a retired wildlife biologist, not a programmer, so please dumb it down.

At first, I thought it was add-ons problem, but other than YouTube, too

I used the translation app because I was not good at English

The horizontal scroll arrows are not working on Amazon prime video using Firefox on a pc running Win10.

It hasn't worked for some time and I thought it was an Amazon problem, but I've tried other browsers and devises and it works on all of them EXCEPT Firefox.

My Firefox for pc is up to date. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I have tried cntrl +/- thinking maybe I just wasn't seeing them - they're not there. All drivers are up to date.

I don't want to use another browser but i use Amazon prime video a LOT and this problem makes it nearly useless. HELP please?

On my own computer, a Dell laptop running Windows 10, my Firefox 118 is customized to my satisfaction. In particular, in the upper right, from right to left, there are five icons: three lines for accessing a Firefox functions menu, a "puzzle piece" icon for accessing add-ons, a U-Block Origin icon for that ad blocker, a set of vertical lines that let me access some bookmarks and history settings, and a star that, when clicked, displays my whole bookmarks menu tree, showing a combination of individual URLs and URL folders that I saved there.

Now I am trying to set up a new Dell laptop the same way. It's running Windows 11, and I cannot find a way to display that Firefox menu star. It's got the other star (the "save to favorites" star, farther to the left), but I cannot find a way to display that "show me my bookmarks" star. How do I get that icon to display?
