I just made the switch from Chrome to Firefox, and I'm still trying to understand the small differences that exist between the 2 browsers.

While on Twitter, what I usually do is middle-click with my mouse on a Tweet to a new tab that I want to look into later, then continue scrolling down my timeline, then check out the Tweets I opened in the new tab(s). However, when I try to do the same thing on Firefox, it automatically opens the new tab. Because of how Twitter works, this also reloads the Home page when I opened it up, so I just lose anything I was just looking at when I opened the Tweet in a new tab.

What can I do differently here?

I am shipping a broken computer back to the manufacturer. I had installed Firefox on it using my Firefox account. Since I have used the Firefox password feature to store all my passwords, I'm concerned that someone at the manufacturer could access my passwords. (The computer refused to boot, so I was not able to scrub it prior to sending it back.) My question is this: if I change the Firefox password on my home desktop, will my passwords on the returned computer be protected?

Thanks for any help!

I'm currently attempting to try out userChrome.css customization, but my profiles folder doesn't exist (I'm on windows 10). Trying to open the folder gets me the message that "[Folder name] is unavailable," and when I try to navigate there by getting to the appdata\roaming folder, there just isn't a Mozilla folder at all.

I've already tried a few things, specifically:

- making an account via typing firefox.eve -p into the windows + r folder
- I've never deleted anything from the appdata roaming folder, so I wouldn't have accidentally deleted it
- restarting my computer (+ updating windows)
- reinstalling firefox

I did attempt to show hidden file extensions in windows as well. Admittedly I'm not entirely sure if that worked, but it was something I tried. I've also attached images of my appdata roaming folder (the section of it which should have a mozilla folder), and a pic of the message I get when I try to open the folder.

Any help would be appreciated!

When I'm on a web page, I'd like to be able to drag or copy the URL, with its associated name, from the address bar into Onenote. When I do that now I only get the URL in Onenote. I can get both the URL and name if first I drag the URL to the bookmark bar and then I drag the bookmark into Onenote.

Does anyone know a way to get it done in one step?

In the past, I have not had problems logging into PayPal via Firefox on Windows.

Today, I can get to www.paypal.com but when I try to log in (takes me to https://www.paypal.com/us/signin), my browser window just shows the circling image.

When I tried another browser (Chrome) I got to the login just fine. My Firefox is up to date (105.0.3)

What changed to give this issue and how can one resolve it?

I tried Chrome instead and logged in successfully. I have restarted my computer but the problem remains.

With version 105.0.3 (32-Bit) I have only trouble. Sorry to say, but most pages are not working. So I will probably now change to Chrome. Because I need a browser working and not 80% of addresses not. I don't understand the newer philosophie. I was enthusiastic Firefox user. But this year each version has more problems for me, using Windows 10. Each page I open I get "Increased safety risk". And that could not the world of security of today. I think Banks, Insurance and Healthcare don't have insecure pages without acitve signatures. But Firefox says this every time to all pages.

Have a good time, Gilbert

The process manager tells me which window/process is hogging memory. But I have multiple windows open on multiple workspaces. How do I switch to that window so that I can see what it is and decide what to do about it?

Until recently, clicking on a window listed in the process manager would bring that window to the current workspace (ubuntu/xfce). That changed recently. Now clicking/double-clicking does nothing and there only seems to be the option to kill the process.

I guess I can kill it and then look at recently closed windows to see what it was. But that is a bodgy.

Can I fix the process manager so that when I click on one of its listed windows, I get taken to that window on the workspace where it resides? (It always was inconvenient when previously, double-clicking on the window in the list, brought that window to the current workspace. You had then to work out where it had come from if you wanted to put it back).

Firefox's window/workspace management is otherwise excellent. It's the best in my opinion. When it starts-up, for example, it puts all the windows back on the workspaces where they were when it was last closed. Very nice.

Hello, I need help, it is not possible to open Firefox. After opening, the window closes itself again, a new profile was created, but the problem is still there. I am very unhappy about this. I didn't load a new extension, didn't use new antivirus software. Firefox has already been uninstalled and reinstalled. The problem is not solved. I've also cleaned Firefox a few times, but the problem still persists. There are no crash reports as Firefox just closes and doesn't crash. I can start safe mode. I am sending the Troubleshooting information.

Thanks for your help, Firefox is the best browser! Greetings Silke

So this problem is isolated with Firefox as it doesn't happen with Edge or VLC on this pc. If I have Twitch or Youtube, probably any other audio or video playing, open when I turn the monitor off the audio will no longer go through properly when it is turned back on. The video is still playing fine but the audio isn't going through properly. Refreshing the page fixes the issue.

I have made sure to disable all other audio outputs and defaulted the current HDMI output. Audio playback works fine on every other application that I have tried.

As far as I can tell, this has something to do with Firefox aggressively offloading stuff from memory to storage. When I alt-tab at times, Firefox completely freezes. Every Firefox window hangs on a single image and I am unable to interact with anything for a few seconds. During these seconds, I can see the memory % in the Windows Task Manager slowly climbing until Firefox unfreezes itself, so it seems to be loading stuff back into memory. For example, it'll climb from 55% to 70%, taking its sweet sweet time. I also see some disk usage with 'System' during this time.

This behavior occurs even when I'm active on the browser and at 50% memory. It seems to occur more often once I hit the 60% memory mark.

I'm almost certain that this is a Firefox-specific issue, because I can interact with any other program during this period. It is only Firefox that stops dead in its track.

Is there a way to make this behavior less aggressive? I'd rather not have my alt-tabs freeze every few minutes.
