how to update without losing customizations. Nothing major, I just always end up with effectively a new installation plus bookmarks
Updates remove the Dashlane password manager extension thus requiring a new extension download and install. How can this be prevented?

I had Duck Duck Go set as the default search engine. Recently every time I turn on the computer Google is the default search engine. The OS is Ubuntu 20.04.3. I unchecked Google as a search engine. Do I need to delete any files that say Meta or take some other action? Thanks for your help.
