About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "Learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

I have a dark themed website with light colored lable that is positioned inside the input field and having the autofill to autocolor the input's background yellow makes things look horrendous. I've tried the following CSS:

On top of that, I tried changing that for myself in about:config changing ui.-moz-autofill-background to false, but after clearing browser cache and doing a hard-refresh, the yellow autofill background color persists.

That would be a personal fix, but I would rather firefox not murder the theme of my site for others and let me have control of what color the autofill background color should be (if I even want there to be a difference in colors). Am I missing something? I don't simply want to turn that off for myself (although I still want to, but it didn't work). I want to change it for everyone visiting my site. (Like I'm able to change the colors of link or border colors or background colors of other elements).

I have Windows 11 and Firefox 124.0.2. Firefox keeps asking to reinstall. I think it is because I keep getting the message that it fails to check for updates. I don't know if I have installed the Microsoft Firefox or the direct Mozilla Firefox downloaded. Maybe that is the problem, but I am not tech savvy. I have used Firefox for many years and like it. I am also too old (83) to deal with these problems. Help!

Camera and microphone are blocked. Sessions by Psychology Today requires access to your camera and microphone. Click the camera blocked icon Camera and microphone are blocked. in your browser's address bar and refresh your browser.

All of the files I try to download fail immediately. Even extensions will not download on firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and checked the download location. Downloads work on other browsers such as Chrome fine but nothing will download on Firefox.

How do I stop firefox from automatically downloading files from the internet when I click on them - without even asking me if I want to download them in the first place. In "Applications", selecting "Always Ask" in "Choose how firefox handles files etc" does not work. Firefox never asks. If it cannot be disabled, I will have to stop using Firefox.

Hello! Can you help me sort out a little problem? I am reaching out to seek assistance with a specific issue I am encountering in the Firefox browser.

In my previous browser, when opening new tabs, they were considered active even if I did not immediately switch to them. This behavior allowed me to open multiple tabs, for example, by using the mouse wheel to open several videos from the main YouTube page. Subsequently, when closing the main page, the videos would be available in the order they were opened, facilitating a seamless viewing experience.

Upon transitioning to Firefox, I have attempted to configure the browser to replicate this behavior using the Sidebery extension. However, even with the extension, new tabs are not recognized as active unless I explicitly switch to them, making it challenging to maintain the desired tab activation order.

I have explored various settings and experimented with the Sidebery extension but have not been successful in achieving the desired result. In contrast, the Yandex browser, with the "Switch to the previous active tab when closing a tab" option enabled, behaves in the manner I am accustomed to.

Could you please provide guidance on how I can configure Firefox to consider new tabs active immediately upon opening, regardless of whether I switch to them immediately?

How to restore cookies which have been deleted by mistake. I have accidently cleared all cookies from the cache. however, some of the important information from one of the softwares (Zerodha) was stored in the cache as cookies. Now the entire data is lost. How can it be recovered

Under "Settings" > "Files and Applications" > "Downloads", I have selected "Save files to [Downloads]" and I have set the tick mark in the box ("Always ask you where to save files"). See screenshot.

This setting used to work fine for many a year. However, some months ago - and ongoing - Firefox does no longer ask me where to save a downloaded file. This is very annoying indeed!

How can I fix this?

When I try to log into my AMEX account with FF, nothing happens. The screen refreshes itself, but no log in, and no error or other kind of message. I have entered my User Name and Password manually and using Auto fill, no success.

This problem was posted in January 2020 and I have tried all of the solutions. I have cleared cookies and cache for ALL sites and cleared saved logins for Amex. Still does not work. I have tried logged in and incognito mode. Still doesn't work. I can log in on Chrome with no problems.

It was working fine a few days ago.

Hi, its been a while now that I've noticed every version of FF doesn't work that well with Facebook. For example, I'm scrolling through posts and when I click on a picture to open the post, the mouse click area is miles out to close pop up windows etc. It only happens on some posts but a majority is this issue.

Anyone else has this problem? FB via Chrome works fine.

I have accessed (Google) Youtube - History, over Firefox/DuckDuckGo for a number of years now without difficulty. Recently Google introduced a Two-step security check and, when selected, a question was sent to the handset (which I use as a tether for two laptops) which always quickly appeared and quickly responded to my finger's touch. In the last couple of weeks the question is still asked but nothing comes through to the handset, or the standby handset. For a test I then went through Google Chrome and that opens the Youtube History without any questions etc. It seems to hint that Google are using the Two-step etc to keep out access over other Browsers. I am based in the UK. All suggestions will be welcome. Kind regards, Tim Simpson

When you add a new bookmark to a folder it's added at the end of the existing list.

Is there a way to make Firefox add it at the top of the list, instead?

I found an old answer, but, sadly, the extension granting my wish is no longer.

Also, I already know about sorting, but it's not what I need, because I'm doing a lot of manual bookmarks reordering and sorting will nullify it.

Autofill has been working perfectly fine until yesterday. There's not even a manage addresses in the privacy and security settings anymore.

Autofill card still works, but not addresses.

Having issues connecting to a website i normally use daily for many years, Don't have an issue when using MS Edge. Only having issues with this specific web page.

Server not found Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at dashboard.sigwm.com.
