I was lissening to online radio. Firefox needed to update. After the latest update the windows media player plugin dissapeared from the add-on list, while still being installed correct. I reinstalled it, but that didn't work. I replaced/deleted some files in firefox as suggested for similiar problems, but that didn't work either. Now I can't play wmp files anymore on firefox.

I hope u can help me solve this problem.

When ever I start firefox, a few seconds later, another tab will open up on it's own and it is empty. I continually have to close it and then a few seconds later, it opens again. What ever the page is, it has a statement saying firefox has prevented this window from opening etc....with an allow exception. It does seem to be a pop-up but my pop-up blocker is on. I did uninstall firefox and re-installed it. Is it a setting on a certain website or is it in Mozilla? Thanks.....Jason

I have a Windows 8 laptop on the Beta channel. I updated to Firefox 22 Beta yesterday and noticed that the Roboform toolbox was missing. I reinstalled Roboform, just to make sure, but it was not present in the browser windows, nor is it on the Toolbar menu. It does show as an installed add-in, and the toolbar is present in I.E. 10 and Chrome.

I just had to have my laptop fixed, and the shop had to format it. So, I had to download all the programs I had, which included Firefox and Norton Internet Security. Once I updated Firefox to version 21.0, the Norton Toolbar no longer appeared in the Firefox screen. Why? Can something be done so that the Norton Toolbar appears in the Firefox screen again? I sure *hope* so, as I depend on their Identity Safe program. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows 7 - 64 bit. If you need any more information, please ask.

moderator locked this old thread about Firefox 21 and a Norton Toolbar - Firefox 21 is no longer supported and users should be using the latest Firefox 24.0 version

locking as a duplicate - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/956390

Every upgrade has resulted in only running the updater.exe file. The only way around this that I have found is to do a full install directly from the new version instead of doing an update. This problem has been evident for about 3 updates so far including the update to version 21.0 I am running windows 7, 64bit with norton internet security.

This is still prevalent and I have had to disable the plugin for shockwave player. Similar was happening with adobe flash player but since the Firefox update it isn't happening as much. Is there a solution to solve this or is it a Adobe issue that they need to fix.? When it hangs or crashes it sometimes takes out downloads. I rolled back to the older dowload box because if I closed the browser it took the downloads out. Downloads don't crash as much with the older download box but with Firefox 20 ( with the new download style) the downloads died quickly with an error message the "file could not be read"

Also, is it okay to enable my add ons now, they were accentuating the problem as well.

This add on has been installed and working for a long time. It has suddenly disappeared so I tried to reinstall using my copy of gfx-net.exe. The Wise Installer appears to work correctly, but the add-on does not appear in the list. I have also tried to install from within Firefox, but am told the file is corrupt.

hi. youtube features not working(like add to playlist comment) stopped working, they still work for same account on chrome or other browser.(when it happened i didn't update or downgrade any of the programs, addons, plugins that run in firefox or chrome, i don't see why all of the sudden). so i can't like videos i get the message "feature not available try later", can't add videos to playlist(any playlist including fav, like, watch later pre made playlist by youtube) and can't comment, for these 2 features i get the message "invalid request". all this happen over and over again, they don't stop, or i can't make it work with resetting, refresh, retry. i did a fresh instal of firefox and all it's addons, plugins, even fresh instal of adobe products, and divx, vlc(that have plugins or addons in firefox) after install i could like comment add to playlist, before add-in all the addons, but i could only play HTML 5 in youtube, any video that had no HTML5 support still needed adobe.(after i installed adobe it worked until i restarted the browser). now it doesn't work again.(disabling, uninstalling all addons, plugins doesn't affect the problem)

I didn't have this kind of troubles before until the new version, I'm so frustrated that I'm really thinking to switch to Chrome instead.

And in case someone wonders, there isn't a request icon at ALL.

Heuristics will allow addons to keep working after upgrading they said. Firefox won't break your addons they said.

19->20 Firefox broke the addon (though installing the identical version again got it working again) 20->21 Firefox broke the addon again.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/SnapLinksPlus/

While they're trying to get the addon working, and for some a beta version works, for those of us who need these addons it means we need to downgrade Firefox. What's the best way to go about it? (PS: I don't care about security or what new features are in FF21 - I'd rather have working addons)

Duplicate see /questions/960928

Im going insane with the spinning beachball on mac when using Firefox v21.

It happens several times per minute with something as simple as choosing the next field on a page or even scrolling down the page using the scroller on the right hand of the page.

Im on a laptop which has os 10.6.8 installed and the laptop has 8gig of ram and a 2.8ghz intel core 2 duo processor.

On previous versions of Firefox I used to get "unresponsive script" warnings with the option to stop it. These warnings would pop up and never give the option to "always stop an unresponsive script AND never take total control of my computer trying to get the script to respond" There is no option to block the script on the site its coming from.

I did have a block script plug in but no sites work properly if java script isnt enabled.

With Firefox21 I dont get these pop up warnings any more.

I have a lot of tabs open and when the spinning beach ball happens too often I quit firefox and open it again. It remembers my tabs but doesnt load till I click on the tab.

Despite this Firefox will start stalling and showing the beachball spinning only after a few new pages are opened.

It is enfuriating and I dont consider the software to be working properly.

Im wondering has something gottten corrupted in the System Library when firefox installs or if there is a compatability problem with versions of Firefox, my OS10.6.8, Java, Flash?

I can only look at one tab at a time - I WOULD LOVE IF THERE WAS AN OPTION TO

"NOT GIVE ANY RESOURCES TO OTHER TABS WHICH ARENT BEING VIEWED"

I used to use a plug in called Pause All Tabs which was brilliant and gave me back control of my computer. I cant get it for FF21

So what can I do? Use Chrome instead?

I am finding that in Firefox 21, website links from Firefox (drag and dropped to desktop from address bar) are not showing the Firefox logo like they always did before. They are showing a generic Windows icon. I've read of a problem in 20 like this that was fixed in 21, but not problems in 21. I never had a problem like this until 21. How can this be corrected?
