When I open a locally downloaded pdf in firefox, the background is displayed as what was previously displayed on that portion of the screen, and scrolling simply overlays moved text over what was previously displayed. Does not appear in screenshots. One of the images shows what the pdf looks like prior to scrolling, and one after.

Shoot!! I just filled this out, and somehow, it reverted me back to This screen again!! I am not a programmer or IT Guy. What I am is a person that is Very alert to sudden changes in my experiences. I retired 14 years ago, as a Manager in a Manufacturing industry. Very familiar using desktop. For some reason, about a couple weeks ago, some of my sites have begun using google adds, over and over. When I click on the "X", wants to know why, etc. I use Malware Bytes, scans every day. Does NOT discover any malware, but I KNOW something has changed to allow the bombardment! Is it possible it's just a single site that I had to change and log in to? Even if so, WHY doesn't Malware stop them? Should I try a system restore to weeks ago? I am on here Every day.so I'm pretty cognizant of changes! ADVICE PLEASE!! Bruce Pierce

Help me stop the DNS log flood with connection requests to

push.services.mozilla.com

which are blocked.

dom.push.connection.enabled = false dom.push.enabled = false

Seems a tad deceptive. UI settings for notifications has none allowed and new requests blocked.

On a related note I would like instructions to have the browser cease attempted conversations with these resources

firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com shavar.services.mozilla.com content-signature-2.cdn.mozilla.net aus5.mozilla.org

All experiments disabled yet normandy.cdn.mozilla.net

If mozilla respects privacy why are not experiments opt-IN?

Thanks in advance for any insight or suggestions. My preferred browser is Firefox. In Chrome, I can easily use a voice search from www.google.com. In Firefox, the permissions show my preferred mic as enabled and selected for that webpage -- but no sound is detected. (Using Firefox. mic works fine at https://www.onlinemictest.com.)

(BTW, speaker output is Realtek motherboard audio and mic input is a Shure X2U USB interface. This mic works just fine in zoom, whereby, audition, etc. as well as working google.com using chrome)

Have worked through various settings in the SOUND panel and SITE PERMISSIONS with no luck.

Any ideas about this problem -- or what other settings to trouble shoot?

Hi there,

On the 23. of Mai I first noticed that I am unable to download any files whatsoever. I tried downloading .exe files and also a .csv file. When I try to download one of these files it appears in the downloads window but immediately goes to the status "Failed". Any retry fails as well.

The same thing goes for extensions. I cannot download any extensions or plugins using my Firefox browser. Since I reinstalled Firefox I can now also not use Plex because Firefox can't install the required plugins.

I will attach screenshots of all the errors I get.

All of the above worked when I tried it on the Edge browser.

Firefox version: 126.0 Windows 11

Things I have tried to fix the issue:

• Use the network connection from my phone instead of my home network
• Disable firewall and windows defender
• Reinstall Firefox
• Refresh Firefox
• Downgrade to version 125.0.1 and 122.0
• Reset router to factory settings
• Flush dns
• Restart PC
• Manually delete profile folder
• Delete temp files
• Change download destination
• Disable "Block dangerous and deceptive content"
• Troubleshoot Mode

Is Firefox using some other temporary folder for downloads?

Any ideas on how to fix this issue would be appreciated.

After SUSE-15.6 updated FIREFOX to 115.11.0esr, all sites show choppy videos. I have no idea why or what I can do to resolve the issue. If someone has an idea, it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks guys for screwing up my day with your latest update. I used to be able to download a .pdf and opening it in my ,pdf reader. I NEED to do this for tax reconciliation purposes. Now your crappy program has decided to open .pdfs in itself and I cant get a downloaded copy any more. What the hell was the programmer thinking? Yes I have gone to Applications and checked that it is set to my .pdf reader. Please fix this before I get fined by the tax office.

Please approve the update to Twitter X Ad Blocker. I've chatted with AldAstra Labs the creator and they have an update but are waiting on Firefox to approve it.

If you experience horizontal lines appearing when scrolling after installing firefox possible fix is finding layers.acceleration.force-enabled and set to true after going to about:config in your address bar search for this and set it to true. My real question I ask myself is, why isn't this enabled by default when installing firefox? I swear I remember doing this last Win 11 install as well. My third time installing windows unfortunately, just had a nvme ssd drive fail on me. 😭😢 Ofc, it had to be my Gen 4, C: drive with my old User account on there as well. :// Lesson learned, always backup important data frequently as desired. :( Oh well, just lost all my saved games and few songs, no big deal I guess.

No idea what the cause is but I cannot download ANYTHING on my browser for some reason. Pictures, documents, executables, browser extensions. Tried downloading documents from email attachment.. fail Tried downloading VLC... fail Tried every default recommended solution, clean install, you name it. Mind you all of these files downloaded just fine perfectly via Microsoft Edge.

Noticed another abnormality. Changed the download folder to a custom one. Download failed and DELETED the folder for some reason.

I am unable to view "Conversations" within the Yahoo Finance Stock Quote portal. This feature displays real time discussion of the security and has thousands of responses. Noticed this when using the Microsoft 365 browser that this is not a problem. My PC is a Dell with Windows 10.

Everytime I open Firefox a new window opens suggesting I add the AVG extention, when I do I get a notification that AVG does not support that extention for Firefox. Why is the nonsupported extention being recomened

I had implement service worker for install resources and activate service worker and fetch the resources at offline.

When online service worker worked and once serve the resources to the cache then it will be stooped automatically

but when offline service worker block the local host and can not cache resource from cache. I am using firefox

126 version on window 11 system

Any settings are required or help me what will do for offline working in firefox using service worker

Ridiculous with the new update page saying " A browser that's truly yours My Firefox: More Speed, More Security, More Fun." WHEN YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE IDIOTIC popup spam for the updates NOT EVEN GOOGLE CHROME DOES THAT. Hey, I have been trying to figure out native Firefox solution for deleting firefox history after it's set number of days old. I did found solutions for older verions of firefox, and some addons, but nothing that's native or current.

I think having history is incredibly useful short term, lets say a week or some days, but I don't think I have ever had to dig trough my old history for something. Usually what you need is to find some page you closed recently or something. And while I would like to use deleting history after closing browser, it interferes with stuff that I'm logged in, reopening tabs after closing etc. And ofc, it actually deletes history which is useful short term.

This is both request for help and improvement. It would be nice to have option on "clear history when firefox closes" settings, to delete any selected data older than set number of days for instance. Or if there already isn't, something similar in about:config.
