In previous versions I was able to open around 15-20 tabs before X button disappeared from them and I was no longer able to close them without activating them first.

Now this happens much earlier - only 10 tabs is enough on my 1080p 100% scaling desktop and 9 tabs on my 1080p 125% notebook.

X button is present if you have 10 tabs or less, but disappears with 11 tabs, when there is still plenty of space on tabs to click on X!

I compared it to brave and in brave you can still have 22 tabs opened before X button disappears!

Anyone has any method to force presence of x button? This is really annoying as I often have much tabs open and close only 2-3 of them. Now I have to open each one again to be able to close it.

I tried redownloading Firefox after I saw that i was unable to download any extenstions/add-ons. Anytime i try to download something from the firefox browser, the download fails or gets cancelled. I never changed any settings, how can i fix this?

The vast majority of the time, when I open a new tab, I want to go to a page I already visited. Unfortunately, I consistently have to press down arrow to get to what I'm looking for.

I already disabled any kind of search suggestion (settings screenshot attached), added the separate search field, but nothing I tried removed the "Search with DuckDuckGo" being the first suggestion. I pressed the down arrow so many times in my life because of this, I'm at a loss.

Am I missing something? Is there any way to get the history suggestions to be before ANY web search.

Multiple users are reporting in Microfix's Mozilla Firefox and ESR Updates 2024 in the AskWoody forum that the two options at Settings | Browsing | Recommend extensions as you browse and Recommend features as you browse were both automatically re-enabled when Firefox updated to v127.0.0. I was able to confirm both those settings were previously disabled in my Firefox browser and re-enabled without my permission in v127.0.0.

So far this as been confirmed in desktop builds of Firefox v127.0.0 and Firefox ESR v115.0.2 released on 11-Jun-2024, but not in Portable builds of Firefox. I'm hoping that the automatic re-enabling of these settings is a bug, and not a deliberate change to make Firefox more intrusive.

I should add that the first time I re-launched Firefox after upgrading to v127.0.0 on 11-Jun-2024 I saw a banner message asking me if I'd like to Open Firefox every time you start your computer?. I'm hoping that clicking the "Not Now" button button once will be enough to prevent this nag from reappearing.

SLES 15.5 QU2 in Mozilla Firefox 115.8.0esr was not supporting window.close() and it's showing like "firefox already running , but is not reponding to use firefox you must frist close the exiting firefox process , restart your device , or use a different profile"

I frequently stumble upon websites with incredibly annoying looping images, with no option or method to disable the image changes. Reading information on websites with constantly changing images is difficult due the distraction.

It would be greatly appreciated if an option could be created to disable the continual image looping - perhaps an addition to the FF settings whereby an On/Off toggle could en/disable a context menu option to Pause / Disable image looping when the user right-clicks on an image. ... or, the browser itself automatically recognises image looping and the toggle simply allows FF to en/disable the looping.

My default search engine is Duck Duck Go. I frequently use a VPN.

I am usually in North America and want to search sites in North America. When I run a search by typing a search term in Firefox, I get results beginning in UK, and I see that a blue toggle switch has been set to UK. (See image.)

This started 2-3 weeks ago.

How do I set things so that my searches begin in North America?

I have checked "about:config" preferences and do not see anywhere that UK is specified. I don't see a region preference setting, either.

Firefox system is permanently set to Dark mode, even when the rest of the OS is light mode. While I can manually select light themes (such as the default Light theme), other dual-mode themes such as Alpenglow is permanent stuck in dark. Is there a way to investigate this?

Before Firefox used to keep private tabs 'open and available' till you closed the page out, for iphones, ipads, etc. Now all my private tabs are closing out every time I close the app. Before there used to be a section in settings that would allow you to turn this feature on/off, however it's not in settings anymore. I wanted to know if there is another way around this. I want to be able to keep private tabs open when I close out Firefox on my phone and ipad.Before I would have all my tabs available jut like regular browsing but now its cleared out evey time. Is there anyway to fix and change this?

When opening a private window after the 127.0 update, now opens opens a new window on the far right. It is no longer connected to the FireFox browser. In about:config I have it set to False for browser.PrivateWindowSeperation.enabled. That worked in the past but doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Hello, it seems that cycling through tabs in most recently used order is not working for me. I am running version 126.0.1 on Windows and I have the "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" option enabled on my settings page. I have only noticed this issue in the past week or so, and so I am wondering if this feature is broken in the most recent release and if there is anything I can do to get the feature to work again until the bug is fixed in a future version.

This is the only "Burger" I can see, and I am Signed In to Support. See image 2 below.

This Menu does not have an option for "Manage Account"

Hi, in my settings Firefox is set to "remember history", but there are no options for how long and when i look into my history, it doesn't go back further than a year. I found a few answers to this on some forums talking about the places.history.expiration.max_pages setting and others about the places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages setting but those don't exist in my Firefox and the threads are more than a decade old. I currently have version 126.0.1 64bit on Linux. How can i keep my history forever?

Drop-down suggestions a clever function, but entirely unwelcome in my universe. How to prohibit those?

The problem in DuckDuckGo search is that one cannot readily edit the original search word/phrase, as the suggestions take over that area; can't do a quick LnUp or LnDn, can't do a quick LeftArrow or RightArrow if a correction is needed -- the suggestions just decide to bully their way in at every inopportune opportunity.

I've changed whatever settings in Duckville that I can find, but it doesn't care what I need or think. I've changed the Firefox Search settings but that doesn't make any difference.

Any information/assistance out there?

Every time I enable Light theme for taskbar it becomes disabled & reverts back to Dark Theme. This is not great for my eyesight. Why does Firefox force dark theme?
