Hello all. I'd like to restore the backspace button function but the previously workable solution — resetting browser. backspace_action to 0 — is not working for me. Any hints as to why that might be the case?

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? I have windows 11 pro 23H2 and latest Firefox installed. I have no keyboard attached to computer and when I touch the adress bar nothing happens, touch keyboard does not show up. I tried with 3 different computers. Edge and Chrome works and shows the touch keyboard. Any suggestions or is there a bug?

For System Administrative reasons, I want to disable automatic Firefox updates. Firefox can ask me if I want to install an update, but I get to choose whether or not to update.

This is the message I get. "Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed." I can do nothing.

Things I've tried. Adding exceptions in the privacy settings in 2 seperate areas. Resetting Browser deafults. Turning off all vpn's and addons.

Nothing works.

I have a personal ' writing email' template in Yahoo mail which I use for a specific community. It contains relevant information which saves me from having to type it in everytime I email the community. However, of late when using 'Compose' the template appears but when I try typing below the salutation I cannot use the 'Enter' button to move the cursor down the page to create the body text. Consequently my emails are just one line of type with no paragraphing.

Why is this?

In the past when I reinstalled Windows and then Firefox, I would sign into my account and all my bookmarks/addons etc. would automatically get reinstalled. Today I had to reinstall Windows and when I logged into my firefox account, nothing happened. Does Mozilla no longer keep these settings for us? I don't have any other devices to sync off of and never have, so where did all those settings come from when I did previous reinstalls?

I use Google search via Outlook. Lately every time I do a search I have to use a captcha. This is frustrating and how do I delete this step when searching a subject?

I made a mistake and installed Firefox in the wrong location. I uninstalled and attempted to reinstall where I wanted the software to be.

The installer now tells me that I had Firefox before and will only reinstall it in the previous directory. No other option is offered.

I am LONG used to being deprived of user choice by the likes of Microsoft or Apple, but Mozilla SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

Apprantly Firefox updated last night. I still show all the names of my bookmarks but NONE of them have any information in them. Probably lost my passwords too.

Tried all the fixes shown in prior posts. This is unacceptable !
