Previously inspecting the page info (Ctrl + I) and going to the media tab, I could select an image and download it in its original file size. This has changed to where the image is now downsized, even when opening the direct link in a new tab. The image comes out squished and distorted.

Is there a fix for this? I've tried clearing all cookies & cache which has worked in the past but not anymore.

I tried to update my primary email, but it said it was already associated with my account -- even though it wasn't displayed. I added a secondary email and made that primary, hoping it would then allow me to add my main email and then swap them. But it still said the main one was already associated (even though it's not shown). I only have two email addresses. I don't want the secondary one to be the primary one. But I can't add it or edit them. Clues?

Since the 89.0.1 update on Windows 10 21H1 (Build 19043.1055), Firefox will not let my PC sleep, unless I quit and re-open Firefox. There is no audio playing on any tabs, but after a while of using Firefox on YouTube or whatnot, it will not release the audio device to let Windows put my monitors to sleep even though all playback has ended.

This can clearly be seen by running "powercfg /requests" as an administrator.

With videos playing, as expected Firefox reserves the audio device, as well as an Execution request.

Output: [ PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe display request

SYSTEM: [DRIVER] High Definition Audio Device (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_10438581&REV_1000\4&2d156fef&0&0001) An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE: None.

EXECUTION: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe non-display request

PERFBOOST: None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. ]

But after you stop playing the video the output becomes: [ PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> powercfg /requests DISPLAY: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe display request

SYSTEM: [DRIVER] High Definition Audio Device (HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_10438581&REV_1000\4&2d156fef&0&0001) An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE: None.

EXECUTION: None.

PERFBOOST: None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. ]

You can see the audio device doesn't get released, and the only resolution is to quit and restart Firefox.

This doesn't always happen, but does happen after a while.

Spontaneously, Firefox is now unable to load certain websites properly: Twitter won't show tweets, streaming websites won't play, and sites like Wikipedia have lost their formatting. Other websites seem completely unaffected, like YouTube, Pinterest, and news sites. This is only happening on Firefox, as my other browsers are unaffected, but Firefox is my default and I don't want to have to switch.

I've tried restarting both the browser and my PC, clearing the cache, turning off my firewall and anti-virus, disabled add-ons, and unregistered service worker... I'm out of ideas.

I've included some images to show what I mean.

I updated Firefox yesterday and since then everything in Firefox is blurry, except for some drop down menu's for some reason. Everything else is... I use two 4k 60hz monitors. On both of these they are blurry. It also seems like everything moves up and down a pixel when giving input (like keyboard or mouse inputs). I added an image of the blurriness. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Note: This is the only software experiencing this problem.

Best regards

I've already found the solution, but wanted to share that Version 90 created a problem with Print Preview and Shrink to Fit. Uninstalling Version 90 and re-installing Version 89 fixed the problem. With Version 90 the Print Preview function (which I love) didn't work properly. When I try to Shrink to Fit any page, the first page shrinks, but the second page isn't pulled into the first page. Also, there's missing information on both pages. If there's another solution so I can use Version 90, please tell me. If not, and Mozilla is doing away with Print Preview (and Shrink to Fit), I'll have to do away with Mozilla Firefox. Sorry, but that's the main reason I use Firefox over Chrome. Perhaps I can find another browser to do what I want. I hope not though.

1. When I have to move another windows across FF, I get a string of repeating images one of the other that I cannot remove until I close that FF page. (See image below)

2. When I save a FF page, it does not close itself. I have to click on the page, refresh it, then I can close it. Also sometimes it take 20-30 seconds to save and close a page that has mostly text on it, such as an article page from one of the many newspapers I review every day including Financial Times, NYTimes, Wash. Post, etc. Due to this and other errors, it slows down my work day to where I am forced to spend one to two extra hours workiing to correct these errors.

3. When I have FF open, it seems to slow down my entire machine, even though I'm not working at the moment in FF.

4. Please fix this. I work 7-8 hours a day on a project I am nearing 20 years completing. It gets tiresome in and of itself, but when FF causes me more problems it become exasperating and as much as I want to quit, I can't walk away from this project which has grown to nearly 700 gigabytes in size with millions of pages of html, jpg, pdf and txt files.

5. Please help me with a new update that will fix these errors or tell me how I can fix them.

Thank you.

I am constantly frustrated by unresponsive pages / script warnings etc using Firefox. This never used to happen on previous builds -- I am using the latest 86.0 -- but these occur so often that I am about to say goodbye to Firefox. This does not happen when I am using Chrome and other browsers.

I have been through all of the suggested steps to deal with these unresponsive script/page issues, and none has worked.

Would appreciate any help on this, but as I say I am about to leave Firefox at this point for Chrome and other browsers.

Thanks in advance...

Hi,

I know this is been asked and discussed multiple times over the years. But the current [CTRL+TAB] and [CTRL+PGUP/PGDOWN] are less that optimum for people who use Mac's.

We like to use CMD+[CTRL/SHIFT]+Left/Right. If there would a menu item for the two operations then it's quite easily do do via keyboard settings. But as that has been removed we're stuck with something which doesn't really work on notebook as there aren't any PGUP/PGDOWN keys ....

Please make it programmable or add the "Next Tab..." and "Previous Tab..." back to the Window menu.

Cheers.

I've used Firefox since 2001. Twenty years I've been able to customize it like I want.

A few months ago I switched from ESR to Release channel because the release version could still be tweaked to the way I like it. Huge mistake!

Version 89 totally destroyed everything I like about Firefox! I use Firefox on a large monitor from my easy-chair. I NEED compact layout. Everything is zoomed anyway. I hate the new tabs! I ESPECIALLY hate the double-spaced bookmarks! I want to continue to use a custom CSS in "chrome" folder.

I switched back to the ESR channel (FF78) and had to re-tweak my about:config settings, reinstall and tweak add-ons and load hundreds of bookmarks to get the favicons back. Unique favicons make it much easier to differentiate between sites. Generic icons suck. Major hassle!

I will stick with Firefox ESR until it too becomes unusable for me. At that point, sadly, my decades long use of Firefox will come to an end.

I include two screen grabs that illustrate how I like my set-up. Note how easy it is to tell one tab from another.

Why "fix" what ain't broke?
