I dont remeber where but i years ago found in internet something about increase buffering videos on yt or something like that and it said to go to about:settings and change something but yea i dont remember what i changed i mean for long time when i close browser with opened video it all the time move back video to old time for example video 1h and i close at 30 min but earlier i closed at 10 min and it will move all the time back to 10 min.It was something about saving video time i extended it to max probably so maybe every one hour or something it will track the time.

Whenever there's an update after I turn on my computer and go onto Firefox my start page is changed from what I had it last to Bing.com. I don't know what causes it all I'm sure of is that either Mozilla Updates or Windows Updates cause it because before then Firefox works fine.

11.23.20

Some time in the last week, the behavior of the tab key has changed in the address bar. Previously it would cycle through address/search bar items. Now it is opening up the autocomplete window for the address bar.

There are already keys that do that. (Down arrow, etc) I don't want another, particularly not another that I frequently used to tab over to the search box and favorites.

Does anyone know a way to revert or disable this behavior without completely disabling the auto complete window under that address bar? Alternatively, whatever shortcut keys now cycle through address bar items.

Hi, I would like to know how to control whether my add-ons should open their tabs automatically. I have alot of add-ons, and once in a while, probably after updating between two periods of time when using Firefox, add-ons would open their about pages, settings, home pages, etc. Can you please tell me how to assign what add-ons can open their pages automatically? That should save me from some lags and also a bit of time spent. Thanks!

I use Firefox Developer Edition (84.0b4) on macOS and pretty much never restart Firefox. Because of this I frequently miss updates. Chrome shows an update badge on the menu icon in the toolbar.

Is this built into Firefox aswell? I couldn't find anything like this and there doesn't seem to be an addon for this either.

YNAB is a personal finance budgeting system that I have used instead of Quicken for the past 10 years. Recently I updated my YNAB functionality from downloaded YNAB4 to server-based subscription nYNAB, which hasn't been equipped with all features for Safari, but is super-equipped (via TookKit developers) in Firefox. When I use Command Key to select multiple transactions in nYNAB, and then use the 2-finger scroll function on trackpad to find more below the visible range, the frame zooms out to infinitesimally small font, obviously making the font too small to recognize characters. Recovering previous font is tedious at best and frustrating to waste time and risks a loss of task concentration. The referenced Support Page doesn't even mention this action. This action does not occur in Safari, by the way, nor do I believe it is unique to nYNAB when using Firefox.

Please kill this apparently inadvertent Zoom action and substitute a MacTrackpad-friendly shortcut in next release. Thank you.

Hi All,

My web pages have 4 basic sections, Header, Menu, Content and Footer. In the print media query position static is used. I understand that should make them print in order. All browser had this messed up for many years but I'm sure Firefox had this fixed for awhile. In version 82.0.3 this is messed up again, footer prints at the top of 1st page.

Is this a printing bug? Or, do I misunderstand position static?

Why can't it print as shown on screen, What you see is what you get?

Thank you for any help,

Charles

Hi, I have a large number of add-ons so I took them away from the tool-bar and moved them to the global menu through the Personalize menu in Firefox when clicking on the 3 bars at the right hand side of my tool bar.

I was wondering if they are still active? I'm thinking of add-ons like Facebook container, Httpeverywhere, Privacy Badger, ublock origin and the likes.

Thanks !

With the last update the behavior when pressing a search enginge icon in the adress bar has been changed.

When the icon is pressed the search shortcut is entered. Before the update a click on one of those icons started the search immediately. I know that this behaviour can be used if the shift-key is pressed while clicking the icon. But that is not how I like to use it and I dont see any benefits from this change.

How can I change to the old behaviour? I want clicking on a search engine icon in adressbar = start search immediately.

Hi Mozilla community,

I have the Firefox Multi-Accounts Containers addon installed and configured to use separate containers for different critical websites.

I've observed however that Firefox doesn't automatically load subdomains in the same container set for the main domain.

Example:

Container set for https://domain.com Domains https://www.domain.com and https://domain.com/us are not recognised to load under the container for domain.com. I have to manually set every single subdomain to also load in the same container.

Theres no way I've found to do this automatically.

All help, comments and feature request welcome in this regards.

Thank you all! Joan.

I recently changed from Ubuntu Gnome to KDE Plasma. Now, when I'm running Firefox (v83) and click "Save as" to save a file from a web page, Firefox gives me a file list with directories mixed in alphabetically, rather than at the top. This is new behavior to me; I don't know if it's new with v83 (I was previously running v82), or if it's a KDE implementation issue.

Either way, I HATE having to scroll down through page after page of files and folders to find my destination folder. Since the dialog box also incorporates full-row select, I can't even click in the file list and type the first letter of my destination folder.

Please tell me there is a way to change this behavior and have Firefox's "Save as" dialog sort the files with directories at the top!

Thanks.

Hello I had Firefox version 81 and after installing version 82 in a new install on a new hard drive, I cannot change the color of my tabs anymore.

I should see white tabs for the current tab but no longer. Question: Is this been blocked now?

I see instead a thin blue color strip along the top of the tab and the rest is grey. This shows up without any userChrome file.

about:support shows my Profile. vwy0y5ix.default-release I also have under the Profile folder this: jcueuz5y.default

Question: Why 2 profiles now as I had only one before? See attachments.

I put the userChrome.css file here in the Chrome folder: C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vwy0y5ix.default-release

What it contains:

  1. nav-bar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important; }
  2. PersonalToolbar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2 !important; }
  3. TabsToolbar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 3 !important; }

.tab-background:not([selected]) {

   background-color: #E3E0DB !important;

}

.tab-background[selected="true"] {

   background-color: white!important;

... nor does middle clicking on a tab cause it to close. i had this problem a few years ago and cannot remember how I fixed it ( unless it was to toggle about.config

browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick=true to false and back to true again) That did not work this time around.

Problem arose on my Win10 machine when left on overnight for Win upgrade, though the mouse driver seems to be a generic MS one from 2006. Have tried loading Logitech Options and selecting the required radio button for middle click/new tab but no luck.
