When you go into 'Manage Bookmarks' and click on 'Import/Backup Bookmarks' is there a way to clear out the list of files listed when you hover over 'Restore ->' which brings up the list of recent bookmark files that you have restored?

Hi, I posted this question about 3 upgrades ago. I run Win7_64 (Yes I know it's outdated!) with dual monitors. After closing FF I was always left with a partial FF screen window open on the left monitor. It could only be cleared with a screen refresh, or dragging another app. screen over the top. I checked the obvious like GFX drivers (which had never changed), FF .exe processes seem to have terminated and I confirmed no other app did this (even Chrome). I suspected it was a FF shutdown problem? I asked the question here but didn't get a solution until now.

I've now installed the latest update 115.11.Oesr (64 bit) and have not seen the same problem for a week. If it stays that way, thanks to the FF team for fixing this annoying problem.

Attempting to type just one letter in the search bar in Settings will make the entire app unresponsive. I only got this problem ever since I upgraded to Sonoma 14.5.

I'm on OSX Catalina 10.15.7 and all of a sudden I am unable to get any sound from my FireFox browser. I tried to play audio/video from 3 different websites - Youtube, 123greeting.com and Gettr and while the video played, there was no audio coming out on any of the sites. I have no problems watching and hearing videos on my other browsers - Brave and Vivildi so this issue is with Firefox on multiple websites. Please advise as to where to look for some switch to turn the sound back on my Firefox browser. Thanks

I have had the option "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" selected for some time, because when FF auto-updates my system becomes unstable. Despite that version 126.0.1 (64-bit) was automatically installed. Which I only found out about because after causing FF to freeze, and basically crashing the work I was doing, and forcing me to kill the task with task manager, I get the "FF is installing your update and will start in a few minutes" at restart.

After looking thru the help forums I have set app.update.background.enabled and app.update.background.scheduling.enabled to false. (They were both true despite the setting selected.)

Two things:

1. I DO want to be notified when updates are available. I just don't want them to happen at your convenience. Will I still be notified of updates with these config parameters set to false?

2. If you have a setting that says "Don't Update" and I select that option, you should not update. There is clearly a problem somewhere.

I cannot print from Firefox. It worked fine, and then stopped. I'm not sure what changed. It doesn't matter what printer I use. Even printing to PDF fails. No errors appear, and nothing shows up in the printer queue. All the other applications in Windows print just fine. It's just Firefox. And just for this one Windows user.

I tried clearing the saved printer settings in the about:support page. I tried refreshing Firefox. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. I tried uninstalling, removing the mozilla folder in %appdata%, and reinstalling Firefox. No luck.

The only time I can get it to print anything is to log into a different user account on this same PC. Printing from Firefox seems to work then.

It seems there is some user-specific printer setting/file/whatever that is messed up. I'm not sure what else to try.

I am trying to login to my Mozilla account so that I can backup my data and move it onto a new computer. However, even though Sync is activated, I cannot find my Mozilla Firefox password anywhere and am unsure of what it is. Is there anyway that someone who works at Mozilla can give me access to my password?

I am happy to verify my identity and prove that this is indeed my account, but I am not sure of how to go about doing so. I really need access to all of my data, and would be highly thankful for any assistance regarding this matter.

Everytime I select Firefox-Settings.. the Settings window opens and then crashes

I just tried the free Avast anti-track product. I ran a browser clean-up which included browser cache but NOT browser history. (they give you options on what to clear). Now I have lost the 50+ tabs I always open on startup. I have also lost all browser history older than 2 weeks. Avast can't help. Anyone know how I can recover my tabs?

When I login to sites using an email address and password, quitting and relaunching Firefox reveals that I remain logged into those services. However, if I use a single sign on option such as the "Sign in with Google" login option to access an account, I find that each and every time I launch Firefox I am forced to sign back into the account. This is not the case with any other web browser I use as they all remember the account I am logged into using a single sign on option. Does anyone understand why Firefox requires using the single sign on option each time I relaunch the browser while it remembers email address/password logins without issue?

To troubleshoot, I have verified that I use the "Standard" browser privacy option at about:preferences#privacy. In fact, I have been using Firefox's default preferences across the board. The only aspects of Firefox which I've customized are the theme and the extensions installed: Dark Reader, Simple Translate, YouTube Auto Like, Tweaks for YouTube, and Gesturefy.

After rebooting a Windows 10 computer, and starting Firefox, two Firefox Windows open. The second one opens Yahoo on it's Tab with no other Tabs open. Before booting, there was only one Firefox window open. This has happened before in the past.

Could this be fixed.

I have also reported several times that at times, Bookmark folders are found missing but found in strange places where I did NOT move them. I have been told that this could be possibly caused because of my very large Bookmark file. It would be very nice if this was resolved. I have reported this at bugzilla.mozilla.org.

Yesterday firefox private window comes up on my browser...I do NOT want that, how to get rid of it?? My desktop is set up with menus for quick reference; I cannot get past this private window

As per subject. When i click a Mailto link in a webpage, eMClient opens OK, but message window does not. Seems to be a Firefox problem because it works fine in Chrome. I've checked the Firefox and Windows (10) settings; all seems as it should be. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I often use Ctrl+Number to jump to a fixed tab, whereas on Linux the shortcut is Alt+Number, which causes some inconveniences. Is it possible to make Firefox use Ctrl+Number to switch tabs on Linux?

At some point after a Firefox and/or Windows update, Firefox started to stall after working for a while. When I open Firefox, I start surfing using multiple tabs, using bookmarks, typing URLs, or clicking on web links and then suddenly, the little dot in the current tab where I am trying to access another link, starts moving right and left indefinitely, apparently waiting or unable to access the desired page. After that I type well-known URLs (such as google.com) that I know "always" work, and the same thing happens. From then on Firefox cannot access any URL I throw at it (no error messages or warning of any kind) until I close Firefox and reopen. Once I reopen, the cycle repeats: it works for a while until it doesn't. I have cleared all cookies and caches, I have erased or disabled all extensions, but the problems persists. Any advise? I can't use Firefox on my Mac with the Reddit.com web site because letters vanish. I started to type "Mac" but aafter the "M" nothing appeared and I got the message "Server Error."

I just had a similar thing happen on the InternetArchive (archive.org).

Chrome and Safari work perfectly.

I've updated Firefox several times with this problem.

My internet has 750mb of bandwidth. Updated 64bit Firefox can only provide 320mb. I installed Chrome and the internet went to 800mb. What could be slowing down internet speed in Firefox? I restored Firefox, restarting everything. I did the same with Windows 10. I restored it to an earlier date. It didn't improve anything. What to do ?

Hi, I would like to remove the hints that appear below the sign-in box for my email account (yahoo). I want to be able to type in my email address each time without being prompted by a hint address (windows 11/firefox browser). Please help me eliminate/delete the addresses that auto-populate the hints email addresses. Thank you.

ps: please note that I do not have an in-depth understanding of computers or computer development language (mostly computer illiterate). I cannot write or change code.
