I reinstalled the Visual C++ and Firefox loaded when i ran the Firefox repair but totally locked up. Unable to get to settings or any website and will not run after closing it.

Just updated a friend's computer from Windows 7 to 10. Installed firefox over previous ESR and now there's no way to remove the search bar from the new tab page. On my W10 system, the search bar isn't there, not sure how or why, but on her's there's no option NOT to show it as there used to be.

I found some VERY old (2014) info on this but doesn't seem to be up to date.

PLEASE give us our options back and stop taking them away, sheesh, getting as bad as Microsoft.

Is there a workaround for this to remove the redundant search bar from the new tab page since you can search from the address bar?

I have a problem where if I install the packages needed to get hardware video decoding working in firefox it completely breaks YouTube playback. I can't find any info on the internet about the problem and I am having a lot of trouble with it. YouTube playback with libva-mesa-driver and libva-vdpau-driver will start stop restart start playing audio then crash with a this error every single time. I am at my wits end trying to figure out this problem and I would love help figuring out the problem I am using firefox-developer-edition as a note thanks Ozzy

I installed Firefox a few days ago and it was looking good. I don't like that icon in the top-left hand so I right clicked it and removed it. All was good. However, today there is a blank black space in the corner as if the icon was back (but without an actual icon). It's only a small thing but it bugs me. I want the tabs to be shifted all the way over to the left like they have been up to today. It's triggering my OCD. Anyway, any advice appreciated.

When I download PDFs on my MacBook using Firefox (currently 124.0.2 (64-bit)), they are always blank - I have attached a screen shot.

But if I download the same PDF using Safari, it opens straightaway - 2nd screen shot.

Is there something I need to adjust in Firefox to allow PDFs to open?

I need your help because i can't find solution to problem. On my macbooks air m1 i experience a very annoying thing: Often while i'm scrolling on websites smooth scroll animation get choppy/sluggish for few moments and lagging. It's like animation is FPS dropping during the scroll. I tried lot of things on both device:

- tried without extensions - created new profiles - use without syncing data - disabling hardware acceleration (gets worst) - disable smooth scroll in settings (get worst) - completely remove firefox with AppCleaner and reinstall it - Reinstall macOS and just install firefox alone. I tried latest Ventura and Sonoma

I don't have clue why this happening but ruin user experience very bad. With Safari everything is fine and smooth. On my wife's device (macbook air m3) have same issue.

Do you have any idea how can i fix it?

Due to repeated issues over a week, I uninstalled Firefox days ago. Tried to Reinstall it repeatedly on same device several times. It was working before..BUT it keeps showing its downloaded on Settings but Firefox download page keeps showing "DOWNLOAD" Tried several times. Not my computer. Nothing works to resolve it.. Hello. I use youtube website as music player quite often (without premium) and play my favorite list of songs. Meantime, when Google started meddling with youtube due to their new offer as youtube premium I met two most annoying issues like "are You still watching" dialog and the behaviour where youtube just cleared "repeat list" function without my consent. Both issues was resolved with java scriplets I took from community.

Now I run into third issue but not sure how to diagnose it. If Firefox is in the background, or tab with youtube has no focus the playlists stops from time to time. The moment it stops is when next video should start playing. When browsing on different tab, I can see on Youtube tab that title of the video has changed (to the next video) and even the song started (for 1-2 seconds) then video pauses and word "playing" disappears from tab (normally there should be title on tab and "playing" word under title). It is not "are You still watching" dialog issue because if I move mouse cursor on youtube tab (even without setting focus on it) the player will continue - till next song.

The issue doesn't appear if youtube tab is active. I can't use developer tools in firefox because can't debugging website when tab of the site is not active (at least I don't know how). I tried to find solution with community but with no success. I allowed youtube to play video and sound always without exception in firefox preferences but it is not the solution.

Any tips?

The latest version of firefox for MacOS 14.4.1 has broken the picture in picture function. When enabling PiP, the video window takes up almost the entire screen and doesn't remember the size i set it to, like it did in older versions of Firefox. Another issue is when im in fullscreen mode and enable PiP, the PiP window takes me to another 'desktop', whereas before it would simply overlay on top of my screen.

I installed an OBS plug-in for a virtual camera so that I could film my screen and pretend it's a webcam. I was able to use the virtual camera or my webcam on spelltable.com by selecting either from the dropdown "allow" menu. One day, I was no longer able to select my webcam. I could only select the obs virtual camera. I switched to MS Edge which worked as normal. I've uninstalled OBS and all plug-ins. Same result I've reinstalled firefox. Same result. I've been using MS Edge for websites that need my camera.

When I launch teams or slack from firefox on windows, I presume that a slack:// and teams:// or equivalent url is launched by the webpage.

As a developer working on Browser Picker, it would be quite handy if I could inspect these urls that gets launched, is there a way I can see the actual protocol url that got launched somewhere?

Hello! I synced my browsing data yesterday by signing in to firefox account and reset my OS(window 10) to improve my laptop's speed. When I am trying to get back my browsing data back after resetting and installing firefox by signing in to my firefox account and pressing the Sync Now button then its not giving me my browsing data back. Why is it so? Need Help. Thank You!!

when I search for a page after opening a tab. The page will load slowly then stop. I'll then have to hit enter again for the page the load. This does not happen with Chrome or Edge. Any ideas how to fix this frustrating issue. Thanks.

Can you recommend some kind of extension thet will only check current icons for the bookmarks? Just that. I don't need duplicate bookmarks checker, inactice checker and God knows what else checker. Just icons, that's good enough for me.

I just bought a new laptop and downloaded Firefox as I have used it for years. Although I imported my passwords and they are correct it will not log in to sites I need for work. It isn't telling me I have the wrong pw or id, it just does nothing.

I have updated windows, I have uninstalled and reinstalled....I don't know what else to do...any suggestions?
