First, check "DeIete cookies and sitedata when Firefox is closed" from Privacy & Security in the settings.

After that, register the Google domain as an exception with "Manage Exceptions".

When I restart Firefox after logging in to Google once, the Google registration information disappears even though I registered the exception, and I have to log in again.

However, there are some sites where my login information will not disappear if I register as an exception.

How can I prevent my Google login information from disappearing even if I restart with the above settings?

Thank you.

An automatic update of Firefox which resulted in a "quit/create new profile" choice has removed all my bookmarks

Of the four profiles stored in "about:profile" three are identical (ie. have only the default bookmarks stored) and one, generates a "quit/create new profile" message.

The "bookmarksbackup" folder (in /home/user/.Mozilla/Firefox/zs1jki8t.default) is empty.

The "import/backup" option (in Manage Bookmarks) offers nothing to choose. There is no 'list of dated automatic backups.'

Firefox did not create an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

Browser privacy "strict". "Never remember history" was selected.

You have very practical option for the address bar to separate it for the search bar. See the attached screen shot.

We have many local url addresses to the local web server, which the Firefox does not recognize as URL addresses and redirects to the search engine.

So I said in the option, that for the search purposes a separate bar should be used. But the address bar still redirects to the search engine although I said that that the address bar should be used only for the navigation.

Please make the address bar working for the navigation only if the option "Add search bar in toolbar" is selected. Otherwise there is no sense in the separate search bar.

For years I have been using Firefox. If I clicked on a hyperlink in any of my programs, Outlook messages, websites etc, Firefox opened a new tab. That behaviour has suddenly stopped for websites including this one occasionally. It seems to still work for Outlook. Has Firefox changed its policy?

The advice on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1283295 is to edit browser.link.open_newwindow (3) 1:current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab; But that is already set to 3.

What other settings might work? And why has this been changed?

Where can I get Firefox 52.9.0? There was a list of old versions here but now I can't find it. I found https://download2.portableapps.com/portableapps/FirefoxPortableLegacy52/FirefoxPortableLegacy52_52.9.0_English.paf.exe I really did not want the portable version but avast considers it a threat so it may not be genuine.
